The staff is amazing, especially the owner. She let us leave our bags until the room was ready and asked us an email address in order to notify us as soon as the room was ready (which was before the time indicated). She was really sweet and helpful. The system to get into the building is either by using the card or by using the codes which are sent by email, so even if you forget it in the room you can still get in. The room and bathroom were clean and there was a balcony too, which was a plus. They changed the towels everyday and remade the bed. Everything was perfect. The hotel is in a well connected area and close to the beach, the perfect place to enjoy both the sea and the city.

Great place tucked away just on the edge of the gothic quarter. Special thanks to Adina on reception who is one of the loveliest, warmest people I have ever met. We had a really nice chat about attractions to see and things to do in Barcelona, where she gave me her own top tips on transport and places to visit. I did also lose my key card and the hotel, and Adina, were very amiable about this and issued me a new one without fuss, which I am grateful for. The hotel is in an excellent location and surrounded by many bars and restaurants as well as good transport links (Barcelonetta tube station is only a 3 minute walk away). I had a late check-in which meant I initially picked up my keycard from another hotel (2 minutes away) and the process was very easy and quick, again without fuss. My room was small but cosy and I liked the fact that I could control the thermostat.

I would get a different view as my room window faced a brick wall and also in the bathroom there were a few head hairs in the shower that I noticed.

The best parts about our stay at the Som Nit Born were 1) Proximity to the city center and the metro station. The hotel is located in the heart of Barcelona's old town and is a 3 min walk from the nearest metro station. Everything is so accessible! 2) Clean, well-lit rooms with typical European style balcony – makes the stay very comfortable and cosy 3) Very friendly and welcoming staff – The person at the reception, Adina, was very hospitable. Our flight landed in Barcelona earrly morning and check-in wasn't until 3 pm. She was in touch with us through out this duration and let us know as soon as our room was ready for an early check-in. 4) Feeling of safety – we were two girls travelling and entire experience was superb not only within the hotel but also in the adjoining area of the hotel

The positives beat these negatives, but its fair to mention them nevertheless 1) It could get slightly noisy at night because the hotel is located in the heart of the city, next to a busy road 2) If you reach or leave Barcelona several hours apart from the check-in or check-out time, there is no storage space at the hotel to store your luggage pre check-in or post check-out. However, the hotel has tie-ups with luggage storage companies so this is manageable 3) No breakfast options or coffee machine :( However, there is a mini fridge in each room to store food if you prefer

Receptionist was so friendly and ready to help with any queries. Location was great, close to a metro line. Room was as described and met expectations. Was able to store luggage there before check-in :)

It seemed baby cockroaches were climbing out from the shower drain. Didn't realise they were cockroaches until I saw a slightly bigger one. Window faced a really small enclosed space between buildings which didn't let in any light, but not a big deal.

The accommodation is located near the marina and the Gothic district. It was easy to walk to attractions and restaurants from the site. The room was very quiet, which was great for sleeping. Adina, at reception, was very helpful in giving directions and suggestions. I would recommend this place especially for singles looking to enjoy the evening street life.

Reception hours are limited, so it is best to communicate with the site prior to arrival.

Cozy small hotel in an excellent location, right next to the harbor in the Gothic quarter. The room was clean and had a spacious shower and mini fridge. The staff was very friendly, and even when they didn't have 24/7 reception, they solved our late arrival smoothly.

The beds were very short. If you are a tall person, your feet are basically outside of the bed. The window was facing the shaft. This is not such a big deal but should be pointed out. During booking, there were only displayed rooms with actual windows.

Perfect location,super nice and knowledgeable receptionists,place is 7 min walk to Barcelonita beach and shops ,restaurants ,taxis , busses,everything you need is all around and beautiful hidden streets , overall nice place to stay, rooms are nice ,simple ,clean .

host was absolutely awesome. She was so helpful and friendly on both occasions we stayed there . She couldnt of been more welcoming. She answered all our questions and gave us lots of helpful ideas, where to go , where to eat etc.

First room was very small, basically just 2 single beds with bathroom. Second room was larger with a little balcony. If there were some basic amenities such as tissues, cups, wine glasses and coffee, tea making facilities it would of been so much better. Shower head in the second bathroom was not working properly at all.

Som Nit Born is more of a hostel located right in the centre of Barcelona. A cozy single floor hostel with minimum facilities. The host Adena was very helpful. The room is very small with very basic amenities. Clean rooms. Location is biggest plus point

No dislikes as such other than the fact that the hostel is located within an apartment building on a single floor.

Location was amazing. Super central and lots of great restaurants and cafes right nearby. We walked or took at most a 15-minute taxi to all of our activities. The staff was absolutely amazing. She was personally concerned about our well-being, gave amazing recommendations, pointed out the main sights of the city, made sure we had everything we needed including a taxi ready for us to go back to the airport, and was so kind. She stayed at the hotel an extra 2 hours one night to make sure we got back safe and were able to get into our room.
