The location of this hotel is perfect, in between the old town and the marina and not too far from the beach. We were able to do a lot of the sights on foot and there are loads of places to eat nearby. The staff in the the hotel were very friendly, helpful, polite and accommodating. We knew we were in good hands when we were offered ice cold lemon/lime water as we checked in on a very hot day. There was also a lovely welcome treat in the room. The hotel also offers lots of free events to its guests, such as wine tasting. We stayed as a family of four and our lovely room was very comfortable and a great size, with proper beds for the kids and both a separate bath and shower. The decor was lovely and everything was exceptionally clean. The breakfast was great, with a huge variety of options. It was perfect to have something to rely on to set us up for our days of sightseeing. I’ve never seen my 10 year old eat so much!! The roof top bar and plunge pools were brilliant, with amazing views. Perfect for us to chill out in the heat with a book and a drink while our boys cooled off and had fun in the pools. It was never too busy and had a lovely atmosphere.

There’s a little bit of street noise, but never enough to really bother us and the rooms are well sound proofed, as is evident when we opened our balcony doors. It would be very hard to stay in such a central location and not have street noise.

Location is excellent! Nicely decorated lobby - very beautiful. Pleasant roof terrace Excellent family room for four - very well designed bathroom which allows for multiple usage at the same time. Beautiful breakfast room Nice friendly staff at front desk - Reuben was particularly good.

Staff could have been a little more pro-active to make bookings etc - they got better once they realised I was asking for their help but it took a bit of work. Breakfast staff were strict regarding allowing me to take some food up to sleeping kids who were going to miss breakfast - would have been nice if they had offered to serve it to them in the room. The terrace bar and restaurant was a little small and not completely clean and ready for serving guests/ providing towels for sunbathers. The lobby bar seemed rather quiet (dead) with no one serving or offering to serve drinks which was a shame as it is a nice space with gorgeous seating and decor.

Good location. Relatively close to cruise port, las ramblas, goth quarters. The rooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable. The included breakfast was uh-mazing. It included Cava or mimosas with fresh juices, but the Nescafé espresso bar was where we loved getting our caffeine for the day. The service was excellent and the staff were helpful when needed for information. We felt safe and well cared for. Would definitely come back and stay again. Helpful tips for US travelers. You will need a European power adapter type C. You can walk to the Las Ramblas Western Union (about 10 minutes) for good currency rate exchange between Euro and USD. Rooms with extra beds for children are hard to find and this is a great set-up for families.

The hotel is situated perfectly for travelling around Barcelona City and seeing the sights. It’s close to the beach, La Ramblas, and gorgeous inside. rooftop bar was nice to sit and have a pre-dinner wine. some minor disappointments about the hotel but overall didn’t ruin our stay or opinions on the hotel.

We booked a standard double room and was given a room on the 4th floor, which was gorgeous and spacious, however, on the 1st night around 1am was woken up by the noise of a nearby nightclub. the room was definitely not sound proofed! we’re in our early 30’s so not one to complain about this but we ended up going down to request a new room (which we were happy to pay for). they were really good about it and switched rooms at no additional fee - the room we were given was 1st floor facing the main road and couldn’t hear a thing! we also tried to get into the gym but was locked, not sure how to access? and the rooftop bar closed around 10pm which is quite early

Lovely breakfast with many food choices, beautiful restaurant with delicious food, courteous, attentive staff, location near the Gothic Quarter close to Barcelona Cathedral and not too far from Museu Picasso. Many nearby restaurants and shops.

The room was a little plain for the price and compared to our hotel in Madrid. Still, it was comfortable, clean and quiet. I appreciated the sound-proof windows and the small balcony overlooking Colom, although the street is not one of the most picturesque in Barcelona. I recommend adding a full-length mirror for guests and perhaps a clothing hook(s) in the bathroom. There was a mildewy smell in the hallway. However, it was not present in the room.

This is a lovely oasis of peace & calm. Location is great since it faces one of the ports, but Ramblas & Gothic Quarter are very near too. The breakfast was abundant whether you are a healthy eater or want to try some local dishes too. Drinks & dinner on the rooftop were very nice too. It's open til 1 am, so a nice way to end the day with a designer cocktail.

That we missed one of our nights two of our days in Barcelona due to a cancelled flight. Our stay here at Duquesa & Barcelona would have been even better since they both have so much to offer.

The reception staff were friendly and helpful, suggested lovely tapas restaurant and booked taxi's when needed. Very professional and English speaking to a very high standard which was appreciated as our Spanish is very poor. Roof bar very pleasant with lovely, happy courteous staff and great view of marina. Complimentary cava and bitesized cakes on arrival in our room along with water replenished daily inclusive. This was very much appreciated. Rooms were comfortable and cleaned to an exceptional standard. On our last day our suitcases were stored securely in a locked room and we were able to leave our valuables in a locked safe including passports at reception and still explore comfortably in the knowledge our belongings were totally secure. Finally the location was perfect for us, we wanted to be situated by gothic quarter and shirt stroll to the beach for a chill day. Excellent location to MOCO and Picasso Museum. Fabulous felt very safe. Would recommend and return, both myself and daughter really enjoyed our stay. Thank you Barcelona and Hotel Duquesa de Cardona! 😀

Downstairs bar often maned by one person only and sometimes no staff for long periods. The Air con never went lower than 20.5 in our room and it was fairly warm of a night time, so it would have been better if we could have set it to a lower temp. Maintenance came out and said it was in working order and we were offered to change rooms but declined as we had unpacked all our belongings by this point.

We liked the size of the room, which was very clean and modern. The location was perfect as we could walk everywhere we wanted to go. We had a nice balcony where we could sit out at night and watch the people go by. The street was very pretty. The bellman was especially cordial and helpful. We arrived, wet from the rain, and looking pretty grubby, and he treated us like we were VIPs!

It didn't affect our stay, but the glass doors in the shower are out of adjustment. This causes the top corner of the door to strike the opposing glass when it closes. There is already a small chip in the glass due to this. I had the same doors installed in my home bathroom and had the same problem. The upper hinge slips a bit causing the door to slide out of adjustment a bit.

The staff was amazing and the front desk reception ladies were so helpful when I checked in because my bank card was being difficult but the staff didn’t let me stress about it at all. Within an hour it was worked out and they had me enjoy breakfast while I waited for our room to be ready. The bottle of wine and pastries were exactly what I needed to forget about my stresses and start off our first visit ever to Spain. The staff in the breakfast restaurant were super helpful as well and the food was delicious. Thank you again to everyone for making Barcelona memorable

Loved the hotel!

The rooftop bar was the spotlight but the room was lovely, clean and tidy. The staff were all lovely.and really friendly. Especially John at reception who really help us out. The breakfast is really good. Lots of options and the location is perfect for a city break. We ate in the rooftop a couple of times also and the food was really nice.

The location is great but it comes with a bit of noise in the evening. This is not the fault of the hotel just the fact that Barcelona is a hive a activity. It wont stop me staying here again.
