Excellent location close to restaurants. Welcome was excellent, we rang to ask for a taxi to pick us up after we got off the coach at the bus station. Staff are very helpful indeed. Lounge on ground floor by reception was very comfortable to take a break from walking around Cadiz. Didn’t have breakfast but the breakfast area on the ground floor was very smart.

We stayed three nights and both agreed the bed was hard. The room was mostly wooden with antique wood in the Phoenician style which whilst looking good was not practical for unpacking and hanging clothes. The chest of drawers was small. We sat out on the top floor sun terrace for a couple of hours, but it was a poor experience, because the sun shades didn’t protect the heavy wooden benches from the sun. The benches were also uncomfortable and the sun terrace needs some modernisation.

A beautiful period property, right in the heart of old Cádiz. Tastefully furnished in a Moorish style. There are lovely objects in all corners of the hotel. We received a warm welcome from Pepe at Reception who helped us park the car in the garage opposite ( it’s quite a squeeze!) The room was very clean and comfortable. Excellent shower. Aircon, of course.

Some people might find the room a little small ( it was ok for us). The furniture is old-fashioned, but this is in keeping with the style of the property.

The hotel had a very relaxing ambiance. Decor and style of the furnishings were traditional Moorish, fresh and appealing for those wishing to experience the Cadiz atmosphere. Fabulously located in the heart of the old town but nice and quiet . 10 mins walk from train station. Train from Jerez was about 5 Euros! Bedroom immaculate, and cool when temperatures were outside soaring. attractive roof terrace. Many restaurants and bars close by that offered the best of Cadiz cuisine and soooo reasonably priced. Would deffo stay at this hotel if I returned to Cadiz

I asked for a kettle in the room but otherwise one would not have been there. Hotel were pleased to provide and happy to assist with any queries .

The Hotel Argantonio is one of the best hotels I have stayed in. All the staff were helpful, warm and friendly with excellent local knowledge. A massive thank you to Eva, Katy, Daniel, Pepe and Marisa they were the strong beating heart of the hotel and made our 9 day stay a holiday to cherish. The hotel is an oasis of quiet a mere 40 metres from the busy Calle San Francisco. It is a place of sanctuary away from the pleasures of the streets, cafes, bars, restaurants of Cadiz. Cadiz is great place to get lost in and lose yourself to your imagination of 3000.years of history. The roof terrace was great place to while the time away watching the Swifts aerial display. Cadiz is a place we will return to as is the sublime Argantonio. Thank you Danny for the book and to the lady owner for her lovely gift. Delightful hotel full of character. Excellent breakfast, lovely sitting area on ground floor. Staff were great. We hired the hotel bikes to cycle around Cadiz and to the beach. Drinks on roof one evening. All lovely.

Room was small so we had to store suitcases under the bed. no drawers for clothes but it is a very historic building so it is understandable. Also it was a bit noisy in the early morning as street sweeping starts very early. However, again a historic city of little narrow streets lived in by locals who get up early.

The hotel exceeded all of our expectations. It was spotlessly clean with beautiful rooms fantastic staff who were really helpful. Breakfast was delicious and the roof top terrace a lovely space to relax with drinks from the bar downstairs. Would definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends and would love to go back there. Cadiz was beautiful.

A charming property in the heart of Cadiz. walk to everything. The building and rooms are beautifully decorated. We stayed in a spacious suite with private terrace, and were greeted with a welcome tray of fruit, champagne, chocolate and bottled water. The staff was warm and friendly.

As we’ve learned throughout our travels, with historic buildings come some quirks. By keeping bathroom drains closed you can avoid odors that back up.

We liked everything. Wonderful small hotel in the old town of Cadiz. At our request, the hotel organised a parking space for us in their car park, it cost €16 per day and was worth every cent as Cadiz old centre is not for the faint hearted driver. We only had breakfast one day and that was very convenient and good but there are many places nearby to chose if you wished to eat outside the hotel. Our room was beautifully decorated, quiet and very comfortable. It was smaller than expected but that is because I specifically requested a big bed which was what we had. The absolute highlight of this hotel however is their staff. Each person we met could not have been more friendly and welcoming. All our questions answered easily and fully. Two of the women on reception had recently returned from Ireland to work in their home country.., all I can say is Ireland's loss is Cadiz's gain. I cannot recommend this hotel more, just book and go! Cadiz is amazing. We had a great stay.

Location was superb - quiet, near to the station, close to shopping, market and the beach. The hotel was absolutely lovely and the staff were so helpful. The room was a little small, but adequate, and the charm of the hotel outweighed the lack of space. The hotel is perfect for a mini-break and in a brilliant location. The roof terrace is gorgeous.

The room we had was a bit small but that was because we booked a smaller room, so this is not a criticism of the hotel. There is nothing else to fault.

Hotel Argantonio was everything I had hoped it would be: small, friendly, homely, comfortable, discreet and full of character. We absolutely adored it! Perfect location in the old city and so peaceful and quiet.

There was nothing to dislike about this beautiful hotel.
