Hotel de Francia y París

Modern hotel located in the centre of Cadiz. I got a twin room on the forth floor, it was large room with nice view, large bathroom, everything looked clean and recently renovated. There was a desk, mini-fridge, tea kettle, comfortable chair. The breakfast was good.

The room description mentions soundproof, but the soundproofing did not exist there: I could hear people in the neighbour room talking and snoring in the night. The WiFi Internet quality was not the best.

Close to major sites, restaurants and bars. Spacious room and bathroom. Friendly staff.

No on site parking. A little challenging to get to by car.

Room was for 3 adults which was definitely big enough and very comfortable. The location was right in the heart of the older part of town, it was in a lovely plaza.

Getting to the hotel by car was not straightforward, Cadiz is very old and has narrow streets with restricted vehicle access, we had to give our car registration number at reception to be passed to the authorities for us not to be charged for driving through a restricted zone, but the hotel give you a disclaimer saying that they are not responsible if you do get charged, so we are now waiting to see if any fines arrive. There is a large car park close to the port, it was very reasonably price per hour, you can park here and walk to the hotel in 15mins, we wished we had known this before we got to the hotel, our car was very secure here over night. Breakfast in the hotel was only ok, not too much selection.

Great location, lovely plaza with numerous cafes and bars. The bedroom was large and so was the bathroom. Some of the staff were friendly, particularly the cleaning lady and the young dark haired lady in the cafe/breakfast area. Large lounge area. It would have been nice to have known more about the history of the hotel (nothing on the hotel’s website). There were some interesting photos in the lounge.

Some construction noise in the hotel at 8am should have been deferred until later in the day (broken lift). Breakfast could be improved, the area is cramped and disproportionate to the size of the hotel and the selection is limited.

The location is great, right in a lively square with bars & eateries. Terrace room very spacious, more like a suite, with views across the city.

Reception staff were surly and did nothing other than bear minimum. Breakfast was in a store room & poor choice / quality other than the Serrano ham. The store room for guests adjoins a cafe where breakfast is served to the paying public who get priority. Cafe staff work incredibly hard trying to satisfy everyone, never seen multitasking like it.

The cleaning of the room was exceptional every day. The bathroom is provide even with a bath tube mat for hygiene. The views from the room really nice Good location. Bus n°1 to Playa Victoria just 5-10 minutes away. Good continental breakfast. Natural Orange juice . Cafe served from machine. It is free to take toast, juice , serrano jam and all the food as much as you like. We rented a couple of bikes and they kept them safe in recepcion during the night.

Nice, modern hotel in the center. You can find everything that is needed around: bars, restaurants, supermarkets. The room was spacious, clean and smelled good. The room was cleaned every day without an additional request. Having a kettle in the room for me is a plus. Also, special thanks for early check in without any extra payments.

Since there are a lot of bars around, it could be very noisy in the night. You should be prepared for it as the hotel has poor soundproof.

+ We arrived around 22:00. Although we just booked the room 20 minutes before, The receptionist made already everything ready. She was one of the rare receptionist compare to other hotels that read our special request in the booking. Our room was in 4th level. Our key was not working. We came back down and report that to the blond lady at the reception. She fixed the key card and sent us with elevator up but she came to the 4th level on foot from the steps to make sure we don't have issue. Very respectful and professional. + Room was very nice.

- The bathroom smelled bad. We reported to the reception so maintenance hopefully fix that. - No parking space since it is in the old town but you can find indoor parking 3-5 minutes walk for 17 to 20 Euros. - Breakfast was very basic!

Breakfast is somwhat limited in options. To access by car, you must enter another address (to avoid pedestrian areas), but this is not clear in hotel info. only after calling them did front desk tell me about the other address, which is at the end of Calle Isabel la Catolica. You can drive and unload. Park at Parking Beato Diego.

The hotel is located in a small attractive square and is opposite to restaurants with outside tables. Nearly all of the historic sites are within easy walking distance through numerous old narrow streets and attractive squares. The hotel itself is like a miniature chateau with high ceilings and beautiful decor and I was lucky enough to have a large room on the second floor with two large windows that opened out onto the square. The chimes of the church clock next door kept me regularly informed of the time but it was quiet during the night. It really is a charming place to stay

The breakfast wasn't really worth bothering about and there are plenty of cheaper places to have a morning snack nearby.
