This was my 4th stay at Sercotel Alfonso XIII. The room is very quiet and the bed is very comfortable. There is a great selection of options at breakfast. I would defintely recommend the hotel. The hotel is very clean and the housekeeping, bar staff and ladies on reception were all really friendly.

Parking - this is the only inconvenience with the hotel, on every stay I have been unable to park at the hotel car park as it has been full each time, the hotel does offer a discount at the closest public car park, which is good, but I often had to park further away at another car park where the discount does not apply, so I was often driving around looking for parking spaces.

The location was good, just a little walk to the old town and to the seafront. The garage was very useful. The room was functional, very plain but it and bathroom had everything you would need. someone else reviewed it as a business hotel which is probably fair. We had breakfast in the hotel, the choice and quality of food were very good offering both hot and cold options.

Like a lot of other Spanish hotels they want your money as soon as you step inside the hotel rather than putting a reserve on your card, this means you pay for the room on arrival then the next morning you have to pay again for any extras from the bar and mini-bar and for the parking, total waste of time, need to get into the 21st century, surprising as this is a business hotel.

Lovely welcome, and although it wasn't mentioned, we were upgraded to a very spacious and comfortable room with a proper seating area and jacuzzi bath. Very comfortable beds, great shower (and bath). The room was dark because it looked onto a lightwell, I think there may be no or very few rooms in this hotel with proper windows. Didn't bother us but it might bother some. Decent breakfast in a bit of a dingy room.

The room itself was clean enough but there was a bit of a lack of attention to detail in the communal areas - smelled lovely in reception/main stairway but there was a bit of dirty tissue paper on the stairs during our entire 24h stay.

Excellent front desk staff, good breakfast buffet, very comfortable beds. Paid parking underground.

Our first room was on the top floor and had a mosquito problem. Yes, mosquitoes! The windows were closed and from what we could tell they were breeding in the ventilation shaft due to the condensation pools caused by the air conditioner combined with heat from the roof. I woke up covered in bites. We killed quite a few which left a tell tale red smear. And the next morning, the same thing. We asked and were moved to the sixth floor where we only found one in our room after two nights. The front desk staff was sympathetic and very accommodating.

Excellent location in center of Cartagena. Pleasant, helpful staff. Clean, spacious, quiet room with very good bathroom.

The parking under the hotel was great in that it was so close to the hotel & reasonable price. The downside is that the car park is not ideal for any car larger than a small compact car. It takes real navigation skills to extricate your car from the parking space to avoid colliding with the numerous pillars!

I am a light sleeper, so I really appreciated the very quiet room. The hotel is very clean and comfortable throughout. This was my second visit to the Alfonso XIII hotel, and I would definitely recommend a stay here. I hope to be back later in the year The breakfast has a wide selection of items too, something for everyone.

The hotel is on a great location to do all on foot, its just outside the city center within few minutes walk of the musea naval with all the bars and restaurants. The soundproofing is fantastic and also the comfort of the beds. The room was also spotless clean. Very recomandable for a weekends stay or longer.

The room was spacious and included all the standard amenities, etc. This is a city with limited options for lodging, and the location was very central.

Cartagena is not on many international travelers list, so this hotel has all that is needed for a business traveler, but lacks a certain level of charm that many would expect. Nevertheless, a comfortable well-located stay.

Covid times, never easy. Parking next door 16 euros a day. Hotel had lifts for easy access with luggage. Very spacious rooms and we had requested walk in shower for my mother. Tea, Coffee facilities and a small fridge. Very very comfortable beds and lots of hot water. Breakfast buffet well organised due to covid , lots of choice, great coffee. Walk to harbour 10 to 15 minutes, safe walk and easy to find the centre. January we were told, not a good travel month as repairs to boats, buses, the lift to the castle. BUT this hotel is excellent.

Everything was to expectation... room had everything for our one night stop over ... breakfast had large selection and price was good value (if you paid for breakfast when checking in, received a price reduction). Very clean. Parking on site and ok .... However, careful when maneuvering in the parking as there are some tight corners.

Not applicable all to expectation for a 4* Hotel.
