Hotel Silken Amara Plaza

The hotel is part of a chain, and we have stayed at other hotels in their system elsewhere in Spain. It's a good twenty minute walk to the hear of the old city, but otherwise it was clean and efficient. The front desk staff spoke our language (English), and were happy to provide maps and call cabs and such. The restaurant was quite nice and the food good.

In hindsight, I might have tried to find a hotel a bit closer to the old city and the train station, but otherwise the hotel was lovely and a fair price,

The staff was very friendly and helpful, their breakfast buffet was very good and full of options. The view was really nice and the hotel was in great condition and clean.

It is not very close to the center so if you want to walk around bring confortable shoes or definitely move around in car. (Not about the hotel, but you can only get cabs from their stations or by calling for one, you can’t just pull one over from the street)

The bed was super big and comfortable. The room was spacious enough and with all the toiletry products needed. The 24h reception was also a plus because we checked-in around 3 am.

We heard the noise of the cleaning staff in the morning and one of them knocked at our door around 9 am while we were still asleep. The hotel was a little far (20 min walk) from all the main attraction in San Sebastian.

Location is on a quiet area and it’s a beautiful walk down to the old town and beach. View from our room was wonderful, all spacious and clean, very comfortable, loved that the cafeteria downstairs is open until 11pm and you can bring drinks and food to your room, it was perfect after a long day of walking. Perfect hotel for families, even a playground near by.

Accommodating staff, great breakfast buffet, clean room, centrally located

Room too small, bathroom shower door needs to be a full door for comfort of keeping warm while showering, more hangers and drawer space for a couple staying 7 nites. Room so small we had to keep suitcases on floor

The staff was excellent! My Spanish is terrible. So they repeatedly helped me understand things and communicate effectively. I’ve had to stay in hotels for business about a thousand times. This staff and hotel is one that I LOVED. If I go back to San Sebastián, I’m definitely going to stay there again. The hotel was clean. The staff was excellent. The location was cool. And the price was also outstanding. This hotel is excellent.

Great location. Underground secure car parking - a bonus when you're on a road trip. Really helpful, friendly and professional staff at reception. Great room, very clean and spacious. Only a short walk to the old town down the side of the river.

It was very hot when we stayed and the in-room air conditioner did work, but not very efficiently - could perhaps do with a service.

The hotel is located close to Deusto business school so the location was perfect for me. Other destinations like bus/train stations, historical centre is at a walking distance. The breakfast selection was wide and delicious. There is another restaurant for lunch. Luggage store room is available, which was also helpful when leaving the city in the afternoon.

The room was spacious and the bed was so comfortable. We decided not to have breakfast at the hotel as it was very busy with guests. Although the hotel seemed busy, it was not at all noticeable when you were in your room and it was quiet. The parking below the hotel was very convenient with lift access. The gentleman who checked us in was such a genuinely lovely person.

Nice and clean, good restaurant/breakfast bar Quiet lounge facilities. Buses stop close by to get into plf town area.

A bit too far from the old town and tourist areas, 35 minute walk.
