If you do anything at all in Estepona, you HAVE to stay at El Molino! It was quite honestly one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. Marcel and Lars are a delightful Danish/Swiss couple who excel in making you feel like it's your home from the very start. And what a home! Beautiful courtyard and garden to relax in - it was very hard to pull ourselves away and explore Estepona! For this, they can lend you electric bikes which take 5 mins to the beach and just a bit more to explore the main town (the centro historico is beautiful). Marcel and Lars gave us endless tips on where to eat etc - all of which we used, and all of which were great recommendations. Marcel even took us to the most amazing jazz night in one of her favourite bars: a really special evening. Lars was previously a top chef in Denmark, and it shows: breakfast was outstanding: I'm not normally a breakfast person but just couldn't resist the amazing platter he presented to us. All the rooms are stunning (Marcel is an architect and the imagination in the design and decor really shows). But by far the nicest thing for us was the way they made it feel much more like a home than a stuffy hotel. Can't recommend it highly enough and can't wait to return. Nothing! Everything was just perfect!

Our hosts reached out to us well before our arrival to coordinate check-in & once there our party of four was received warmly by a most lovely & gracious couple - Lars & Marcelle. The villa is a beautiful, historic building decorated with exquisite taste & designer attention to detail. The beds & pillows were very comfortable & dressed with crisp, quality linens (…sigh). There is a kitchen area open to guests where we could select from a variety of beverages including beer & wine, noting it on a board to pay upon checkout. The honour system - imagine that in this day and age. Guests also have allotted space in a fridge to store other drinks or snacks, and morning Lars prepared a custom, homemade breakfast that was off the charts - amazing! Another pleasant surprise, our two side-by-side suites opened up to a huge, private terrace overlooking the gorgeous pool & garden. We were so delighted & impressed with every aspect of our stay at El Molino. Thank you both!

This is a gem; a place to remember, an oasis of calm after a day of exploration, a classy place where you feel like family. Because the owners let you use the kitchen, (there is a fridge just for guests!) the sitting room and the living room and are so welcoming. Our room was large, across from the deep and refreshing pool, and very comfortable. There are lounge chairs on the neatly mowed grass or around the pool, and many places to sit outside. If you opt to get breakfast, you will not be disappointed. Parking is safe inside the property you access via the gate. We fell in love with Estepona. Thank you again Marcella and Lars for this memorable stay. See you next year hopefully!

Lovely, beautifully restored and maintained property off the beaten path. Pleasant indoor and outdoor spaces to sit and enjoy conversation over refreshments. Lars is a warm, gracious host, who attended to our every request, and in addition to a FABULOUS gourmet breakfast, provided us with a delicious dinner (by special request) so that we didn’t have to get back on our motorcycles for a bite to eat after a long day on the road. Guests are welcomed and cared for like longtime friends!

Unfortunate barking of dogs and strange screeching animal sounds (not sure what) nearby.

Great hosts who greeted you with enthusiasm and treated you as friends. The hotel and grounds are superb. You are staying in picturesque building that was once a mill. The bedrooms are inviting, and there is a living room for relaxing. The hotel owners have preserved the original beams, doors and floors of the original structure but tastefully furnished the comfortable rooms. The hosts provide complimentary water and coffee and offer a gourmet breakfast (which is more of a brunch) if you choose to have it. The hosts provide good suggestions for day trips in the area.

We had never visited Estepona again and the greeting and care we received staying at this property was superb. We were about a 2km drive to the car park opposite Estepona beach (free of charge) but rural enough for it to be quiet at night. Our breakfast board prepared by Lars was absolutely superb and both he and Marcelle did everything they could to make our stay very enjoyable. The property is stunning.

This place is a wonderful oasis of calm & beauty, a stones throw from Estepona. It is a wonderful building that has been lovingly restored to a really exceptionally high standard by the owners Marcelle and Lars. What made our stay here the best experience of our holiday was the exceptional hospitality that both Marcelle and Lars delivered. They made us feel so at home and really looked after us they are wonderful hosts & we would recommend staying at theirs purely for their exceptional hospitality (& Lars exquisite breakfast). But the place is exceptional to, so a wonderful experience, we would recommend  El Molino Estepona to everyone. Thanks for having us.

We liked everything! This is a amazing place and the owners (Lars and Michelle) are both helpful in any sense and treat you as their special guest from Day 1 (as they do to all their other guests too). It is a small place, which makes it even more intimate and cozy. We even had a kind of spa feeling - totally relaxed and wonderful. And it was interesting to hear the story how they changed this old mill and dilapidated place into a luxury place.

Nothing not to like - everything was perfect!

We LOVED everything. The amazing hosts, Marcelle and Lars, who made us feel at home from the fist moments. Super sweet and friendly dogs making our stay fun. Absolutely beautiful location. Tastefully decorated rooms and shared spaces. Smooth jazz music in the background. Friendly chats with other guests. Delicious power-breakfasts prepared by Lars, which were a treat to look forward to each morning. We can’t wait to come back ;)

Our stay at El Molino was fantastic! Our host was so welcoming, even inviting us to share a bottle of wine with them in the evening. The rooms were spacious and clean. We even got upgraded to a room with a rooftop balcony. It felt like our own Spanish countryside home. Great stay for people travelling with a car.

Not an issue for us, but if you don't have a vehicle it may be difficult to get into town as it was about a 5 minute drive to the beach or maintain Estepona.
