Hotel Estepona Plaza

This hotel exceeds all expectations. I didn’t want to write a review as I want to keep this hotel a secret in case I can’t get booked in again, this would be unfair to the owners and staff. This hotel is fantastic, the location is unbelievable. If you liked the vibe of a city centre hostel when you were young but now you have kids or some more money available this is the hotel for you. Cool sheik a top boutique hotel in a great location, on a pedestrian square and across from the beach, I will definitely be back, I spent 5 days here but I’ll be back for longer. Finally, big up to Angel (the receptionist) nothing was too much trouble, he’s a real asset to this hotel, as we’re all the staff, and the rooftop pool….. Someone needs to stop me, I could go on and on……fantastic place 😀😀😀

The room doors/windows don’t stop noise from outside, the hotel was so good I can overlook this

A small hotel perfectly located in the centre of Estepona. Very close to the clean, sandy beach. The staff were always cheerful and attentive. Our twin room was clean with comfortable beds and a good security system. All rooms had a mini fridge (stocked up daily with free beer and water), a safe (free of charge), a kettle with free tea, coffee etc also replenished daily. TV and free access to Netflix. Good breakfast, hot and cold, fresh and plentiful. A calm and relaxed experience. Our room looked onto the square, which had a lovely fountain and palm trees. The restaurants came alive at night, which provided a good atmosphere. The room shutters, (my ear plugs) and air con ensured a comfortable night's sleep. The roof top terrace had a small pool and a few chairs and loungers. Drinks service if required. Great views of the town, sea and mountains. I enjoyed listening to the gentle waves in the morning. There's a supermarket 5-10 minutes walk away and larger one (Carrefour) 20 minutes walk away. We pre-booked a taxi to/from the airport via the hotel and glad we did. Cost €90 each way and takes an hour. The hotel uses WhatsApp and they always replied promptly.

The swimming pool on the top floor has no shady area which would be nice to have in the afternoon (we visited Estepona at the end of July). The hotel is located in a very vice area full of restaurants. If you want to go to sleep before midnight, I would suggest to bring earplugs, despite the good insulated windows.

First impressions of this hotel were great location, modern decor, beautiful architecture and super friendly staff! We had a great stay here.. check in was informative, quick and efficient. Angel is the hotel manager and is always visible around the hotel. He makes a conscious effort to acknowledge you personally which goes a long way in making you feel comfortable during the stay. During check in we were informed on the handy whatsapp ordering service, which we used via free wifi throughout our stay - whatsapping for anything from drinks by the pool to shower gel refills for the room. Everytime we used the whatsapp service, a member of staff would respond and act on the request really quickly. It was a good touch & super useful! I must add, i saw some reviews about the wifi being poor, and i took my work laptop on this trip- so i was a little apprehensive, but connection & speed was great. The rooms were a great layout - first thoughts were amazingly comfy bed with 2 different types of pillow - one bulkier, which my partner loved and the other slightly flatter which was great for me! The shower is really huge with a nice power and you are given free shower gel/shampoo & a body moisturiser.. generous sizes and we loved the moisturiser. Theres also hand soap by the sink. They don’t use keycards at this hotel, instead you’re given a pin code for the door during your stay & another pin code for the front door in case you’re arriving back after a long night out.. The wardrobe space was more than enough for us during our 6x night stay with 6 hangers. The room also has a free safe, 2x shower towels, 2x hand towels, 24/7 aircon which goes down to a lovely cold 16 degrees, great views & complimentary water and beer in the mini fridge (2x of each, daily). We also asked for water throughout the day in the hotel and it was always free of charge.

We had no cons for this property!

The hotel was perfect for our 14night stay in Esepona. Two minutes from the beach and lovely restaurants and bars within the immediate vicinity. The rooms were soundproofed, perfect for a good nights sleep. Great wifi and everywhere was spotlessly clean. The complimentary water and beer was a nice surprise in our fridge, replenished each day when nessasary. Breakfast was good and the bar was perfect for our night caps. Can't thank the staff enough for making our stay so special. We will definitely stay here again, next time we visit Estepona.

Would have liked bedside drawers for personal items, but that's just a very minor thing.

Hotel Estepona Ortiz far exceeded our expectations. Our room overlooked the plaza which we enjoyed each evening. The buzz in the plaza was electric and we had a choice of different venues within the plaza each and every night or simply walk along the beach or adjoining calle.... With good weather you are guaranteed a great atmosphere. Located within the plaza we only had to walk one minute and we were on the beach. The fact that we had a roof top pool was an added bonus. The fact that staff came up by elevator inquiring about refreshments almost on the hour was exceptional. The parking arrangements were very convenient and safe. The breakfast buffet was delicious and the evening food and drink, waiter, was excellent. Management and staff were very welcoming, accommodating, and fantastic. Overall, highly recommend.

The only thing that I had a problem with was my credit card would not work there; yet it did earlier when renting a car?? When booking, if I had a picture of the exterior of the hotel on the internet I would have booked longer without hesitation. Update the email passcode Estepona23 NOT Estepona22.

We were three couples on a sun and golf holiday for the lads. The hotel was right on the edge of the old town, so literally had to just walk out the door and restaurants were everywhere, the beach was 50m away aswell. The staff were fantastic and did everything we asked for and more, like organising taxis for the golf days. As the hotel has just been overhauled in March, everything was new. Breakfast was a good variety and drinks were top notch. The views from the roof top pool were fantastic especially at night. We all loved the stay and are already looking at booking next year.

Nothing major at all, probably could have some more English channels on the TV. Some draws in the rooms to store stuff away, as everything was on desks. Also a shelf in the shower to put toiletries on.

Very nicely designed hotel located centrally in Estepona. Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was very nice and there were slightly different options each day. We enjoyed the rooftop pool, and it was possible to order drinks and bar snacks to the pool area. Located on a square with restaurants/bars, which means you are very close to the centre of things but bear in mind that this comes with noise. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again.

We were originally given a room that was adjoined to another via an unlocked door (there was a large piece of polystyrene in the middle). We didn't feel very comfortable with this and the door wasn't blocking much noise. We spoke to the reception team who promptly moved us to a room that was not adjoined to another.

Everything. From the minute we arrived the service was exceptional. The manager Angel checked us in, poured us a glass of water & gave us information about the hotel, local facilities & sent us a WhatsApp message with room door codes & bar list .All very easy to use. The hotel has been beautifully restored , with immaculate attention to detail. We had asked for a quiet room which were given. wonderful comfy bed , fantastic waterfall shower. 3 Juliet balconies.Great storage. Easy to use safe. Complimentary water & beer in fridge . Roof terrace has a small pool which we used every day( in April water was warm )Deck chairs & tables . Bar service will bring up drinks. We ate breakfast which was delicious, great choice & also used the bar in the evening, had lunch on the outside tables overlooking the plaza. Beach is 2 minutes walk & located close to old town with many beautiful streets to walk along. We will definitely return & would recommend this exceptional hotel with its wonderful staff . Not often you experience such good service.

Having to leave

Perfect short stay in a perfect location. And staff was amazing - especially Angel! If I could give 12 out of 10, then I would. We were lucky, because our room was already ready when we wanted to check in at lunch time. and we were upgraded to a higher floor with connecting rooms (as we traveled with our child). View from the room was great, and we really enjoyed the roof top pool. The hotel is a stylish, new boutique hotel, right in the center of Estepona. Great breakfast, and with spacious dedicated parking (reserve through the hotel) in an underground parking a few steps away.

Nothing - absolutely perfect stay! I really recommend this stylish hotel.
