Reservation of sunbeds wasn't enforced. We dont agree with reserving sunbeds and liked that the venue had the same policy. Yet when we arrived on various days all sunbeds had been reserved and none sat in. Staff were excellent bringing us more sunbeds but would be ideal if it was enforced somehow

not in walking distance to any smaller town or city. So if you need to dine out it’s either the few local pricy and average places or drive!

Our rented apartment for the vacation was absolutely wonderful! Everything was perfectly organized, and the apartment was clean and comfortable. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by a friendly host who provided us with all the necessary information. The apartment was spacious and well-furnished, making us feel right at home. The kitchen equipment was comprehensive, allowing us to prepare our own meals. The bathroom was clean, and the shower had a strong water flow. The best feature of the apartment was its location. The place was conveniently situated, close to the beach and shops, giving us easy access to everything we needed. Additionally, the neighborhood was peaceful and quiet, which contributed to relaxation and rest. We couldn't be more satisfied with our stay in this apartment. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable vacation spot. We will definitely return here on our next opportunity!

Have been going to Villacana for 20 years. It is a beautiful place with stunning well kept gardens and a relaxing atmosphere. The kitchen facilities are good in the apartments and the cleaning prior to arrival is always to a very high standard which is why it is a gold standard timeshare resort. The new walk and cycle way running along the beach adds a useful attraction.

Unfortunately when it is hot it is a bit of a walk to find good restaurants. There are too many big complexes boarding around the property at the beach end.

There was no breakfast, we had a property with a full kitchen.

DIrect beach access was closed for construction. Restaurant and grocery store were not open. Indoor pool and sauna closed at 5 pm, which we were not told when booking.

Macdonald Villacana Resort is our preferred accommodation for a winter stay in Estepona. The rooms are very clean and specious and equipped with everything you need. The garden is beautiful and well maintained. There are three pools: 1 heated indoor, 1 outdoor and 1 jacuzzi. As all houses in the south of Spain they are not made for cooler outside temperatures. But you briefly switch the air-condition on heating and the rooms will warm up.

We always like it here - it does fulfill our needs. Please have a close look at the reservation conditions: sometimes there are separate charges for electricity.

The apartments were well equipped and both the pool areas were very nice. The pool bar staff were very attentive and the quality of food was generally good.

There was no breakfast facility apart from self catering in apartment. The restaurant was not open throughout our stay and the poolside bar (advertising breakfast from 10am) did not open until midday. Every night there were people accessing the roof until past midnight and into the early hours. There appeared to be no security staff enforcing a considerate noise policy.

I’ve been coming to villacana since I was a child with my family. Bringing my own family was something important to me and overall we had a great time. The kids club was great and I just love that the grounds and facilities are the same as I remember from years ago. Our apartment was huge and had everything we could have possibly needed.

A few issues this year I’m afraid… the bed in the master bedroom was not comfy at all. The main pool area is lovely however it was a big disappointment that “splash time” was only one hour a day- right in the middle of kids club. We spent a lot of money on floats and our girls hardly got to use them. Another, more serious issue was the steps in the indoor pool were not secure. My 4 year old slipped off it and cracked her front tooth. It was the day we were leaving so we didn’t have time to put in a formal complaint on this.

Villa number 39 Worked perfectly for our family of 4 Both kids had a room each on the top third floor We did have worries initially about safety to we did rearrange furniture to block both the balconies in both there rooms 2 stair gates had been put up for us Travel cot set up with the thickest luxurious mattress for our littlest! We brought black out blinds with us All bed are huge spacious and super comfy Shower / water pressure amazing better than home! We couldn’t believe it when the apartment was cleaned half way through our stay that was totally unexpected First two nights we had incredibly noisy neighbours - just unlucky! And thankful they went…. 39 is 1 min from pool and bar Amazing location Max 5 min walk to beach Everywhere accessible with double buggy We would of loved a broom! To keep sand and the place tidy but couldn’t even find a dust pan and brush. Cot was perfect provided and all bedding We will be back we had a fantastic holiday The babob restaurant was ok I ordered a pina cola smoothie and it tasted of water - I returned it and the waiter said yes unfortunately it does …. The dinner as okay The meat was dry and didn’t taste fresh sadly Would have really hoped for freshly cooked produce and a more traditional Spanish tapas type feel but hey ho! There’s 3/4 other restaurants near by The gardens alongside the beach walk are stunning so we’ll kept There’s a water sports spot expensive at €60 for a jet ski for 20 min but accessible and an option We had a great meal at Pepe beach about a 10/15 min walk number 39 Take dvds as there’s a dvd machine! There’s also a few English channels WiFi works on ground floor only Air con is great
