Hotel Aitana

Excellent location virtually next to the Santiago bridge between France and Spain. Starting point for Spanish Camino del Norte. Also backs onto train station heading into Irun and San Sebastián Not good sound isolation but train noise not a problem for me The internal hotel room doors closed very loudly unless you were careful. Room was however quiet clean but reasonably basic for the price. Wifi fast stable Breakfast included. Good to see organic coffee. Mostly plastic carbohydrate heavy food. More fresh fruit and vegetable would be healthier options. Particularly given the location on the pilgrim route All the Staff kind and helpful.

The hotel was exactly as I expected. It is not the fanciest hotel, but it fit my needs perfectly. The restaurant was great for both dinner and breakfast. The location was my main reason for choosing to stay at Hotel Aitana as it is close to the bridge that I wanted to start my Camino del Norte hike.

Overall, everything was satisfactory. The bed could be softer and the airflow in the room could be better, but overall, no large complaints.

Staff, simple room, bus and train access, food. Staff all superb. Fan helpful, nice outdoor sitting. Great shower water pressure.

Misconception of location of beach. Noisy doors and people out of 3 nights. Needed to use card or get additional country money, France and Spain.

The hotel is very well located if you wish to spend the night and catch one of the first trains that gets out from Hendaye train station to Bordeaux or Paris. The hotel has an elevator and a coffee shop/bar in the ground floor where you can have your breakfast, lunch or dinner at reasonable prices. The reception staff is very helpful with your doubts. The room is clean if you are a smoker, there is the possibility of esking for a room with balcony where you have a table and chais to sit quietly and smoke.

The bathroom is a bit outdated. The shower water is not very hot (and this was in sunny October... just imagine this in cold winter) and also the water pressure that comes out of the shower is quite low

We arrived late, after 10pm. We walked from the train station a little over a mile away, through the pouring rain. When we finally arrived we were happy to here that the restaurant was still open. The very nice receptionist/waitress had eat and relax first before checking us in. The was good, hot and priced well. The next morning they got us a taxi to the train station. I would definitely stay here again.

The two beds pushed together doesn’t work at all. There aren’t enough towels in the room for two people, I hate calling down for stuff. I love

Room 302 was great. Room was very clean and had a balcony. Bed was comfortable. Food was good in restaurant and friendly staff.

Room was facing the road and there was some noise. Some noise from adjacent room also.

Excellent for one night stay, with onward travel the next day. Meal available even on late arrival. Next door to Euskotren, within easy walking distance.

Hotel room not comfortable enough to spend days there eg no comfy chairs or view from window. But that is not something we were looking for.

Near Hendaye train station, 5 min walk. Quite decent breakfast. Comfortable beds.

Bit noisy since our window was facing entrance and room on first floor. Also smell from smokers in outside bar was less pleasant. You could of course close windows, but heat wave this July prompted opening them.

Near Irun lightrail station (Hendaye-Donesta-Bilbao) and 5 min walk to Hendaye railwaystation. 24x7 reception. Ideal stop for early or late TGV Bordeaux-Paris. Friendly staff. Good beds.

Staff very nice even if we don't speak the same language Room very clean and confortable Localisation very good for me because hiking ways, muntains and sea are not too far
