Great location, right next to a big park. surrounding restaurants are all very upscale. Room is spacious and very clean.

A lot of noise at night. You can hear bar music until 2 am. Then there was other kinds of noises. We had another unhappy incident. We asked for a extra bottle of water to be delivered to the room. In almost all hotels I’ve been to they would just give you one for free. In this hotel not only it’s not free (7 euros), they didn’t tell us that it will be charged. You should at least tell me it’s 7 euros before you send it to our room.

A very comprehensive breakfast. Staff were very helpful. The hotel is very central and very convenient to major facilities. Close to museums and galleries but within walking distance of all the shopping districts. Hotel is only a 30 euro taxi from the airport and a six euro taxi to atocha train station.

There are no down sides to the hotel however we always ask for a room at the rear of the hotel as all of the traffic is at the front of the hotel and the outdoor dining is at the front and this appears to annoy some people. We always eat inside the hotel to avoid the smoking on the terrace at the front. We normally dine alone as it this isn't a consideration of most guests. The service inside is usually excellent.

Location only

Room was quiet big but the layout is strange we didn’t like it at all. Also, our booking we for two twin bed room but it was not available for us and we spent more than 40 minutes to negotiate the issue, then they decided to add extra bed in the room and we accepted the deal since we are so tired. The hotel lobby is not welcoming and very strange. The bathroom location in the room is not comfortable.

Well presented hotel in a lovely location. We have stayed at 3 Hospes hotels and have found them all very comfortable and well run.

the bathroom opening into the bedroom isn’t my preferred layout - I prefer more privacy between the bedroom and bathroom

The hotel location was central to so many things to see, do, eat and drink. The Barrio Salamanca neighborhood is very classy with excellent restaurants, high end shopping and a wonderful market...El Mercado de la Paz. We had an interior courtyard view which meant quiet nights for sleeping. The outdoor/patio restaurant had great menu of the day meals as well as a range of food choices. Every staff member was very friendly and helpful about recommendations for dining and places to visit.

A second chair in the room would have been helpful. We are not fans of an open bathroom but it was designed perfectly for privacy.

Very good hotel with exceptional friendly staff. The staff helped make our stay wonderful. The hotel is located in the center of Madrid, within short walking distance of park, good restaurants, cafes, shops etc. We had a big room on the third floor with a good and big bathroom/shower area. The beds were also very good and when I requested a hard pillow, this was not a problem and was brought promptly. Breakfast was excellent, with ala cart egg, pancake options etc.

Spa of the hotel could be booked (for private use, no extra charge), but was only available late at night or very early in the morning. Apparently, it was very popular with the guests and was booked often.

The location is excellent. It is at the top of El Retiro Park with a metro station within 2 minutes walk plus a bus stop outside. If you are fit and able bodied you can walk to everywhere for tourists from here, including the train station. The bedroom was massive with the bathroom part of it. The bed was also huge with nice bedding. Good size wardrobes with a safe. The windows only open onto a quadrangle so there is no view but then there is also no noise! The Spa looked nice but we didn't have time to use it. You have to book an hours time slot but then you get the place to yourself. We also didn't eat at the hotel, but the on street restaurant is definitely a place to dress up and be seen at!

The air conditioning was a bit over zealous and there was no instructions as to how we could turn it off (I know we should have checked with reception but my man was insistent we could sort it ourselves). We were cold the first night but managed to get things warmer by the second night.

The front desk and check in were exceptional, very helpful with reservations at suggested restaurants, city directions and anything we requested. The hotel manager came to speak to us about our stay as we were departing, charming lady. Favourite staff:Laura, Fernando and Ruben.

The decor could be improved. The black and white with silver accents seem to be a camouflage for a dated building.

The staff made the experience. They helped us with booking reservations and various requests. The room was extremely comfortable and romantic. The location was quintessentially Madrid with all the fine dining and the huge park. This was a wonderful stay and I would re-book on a future visit to Madrid.

There is no car unloading area, but the public parking garage is extremely close. It is a bit pricey but convenient and secured with cameras.
