Superior One-Bedroom Apartment with Sea View and Terrace was fantastic with table/umbrella, chairs, loungers. Literally overlooking the sea. Apartment had everything you need, well equipped, very clean & in good condition. The air conditioning in both main apartment & in separate bedroom was fantastic, serviced every 3rd day & bin/rubbish removed. Beach towels & other towels were available & changed during servicing room. TV had many English language channels. Bed was firm but comfy. Apartment very close distance to wide range of good quality restaurants (thankfully never sick after any food during all of 10 day stay). Plenty of storage space. Pool was clean, very deep. Food at pool bar restaurant was good & ok priced. Happy hour (5-6pm daily) was 2 drinks for price 1 (selected range of local drinks & cocktails). Pool open 9.30-20.00pm daily. Staff in pool bar/restaurant were really friendly & nice & helpful. The resort has a key card gate for immediate access to the beach & coast boardwalk. Security are strict about noise/talking after 11pm.

The pool was very deep in all areas, only one small place where adults could stand & still high water level; there was no place to walk gradually into pool (only entry via all steps). No music at main pool. In last 2 days, there was shortage of sun loungers. Car parking spaces are very limited & hard to get, when you return in evenings.

Location was fantastic, fabulous choice of restaurants and bars on site and nearby, plus you can walk on the boardwalk directly outside in either direction to all the amazing beaches. La cala is 50 mins in one direction, and cabo pino is 50 minutes in the other. Couldn't fault the location, it was perfect and so scenic. The pool bar la plaza is great, opens at 11am, and serves fantastic food, which you can eat by the pool if you want to and at reasonable prices. Happy hour is 5-6pm which is great. Staff are all friendly too. And the facilities are all clean and tidy.

Rooms were only cleaned once during our 10-night stay. Also found it quite noisy, we stayed in the roccio building and were woken by gardener's, bins been emptied early in the morning and heard a lot of noise from apartment above, not very well soundproofed. They cram far too many sunbeds around the pool, so you are on top of the people next to you and if you aren't queuing by 9.15am you won't get a sunbed, they allow people to just drop towels and run, we were a group of 8 and most days only managed to get a few sunbeds between us but noticed day in day out that most sunbeds were unoccupied most of the day which was frustrating. That needs to be addressed.

Everyone was very nice and helpful. During the day (except Saturday) there were programs for kids and adults as well throughout the week. Animators helped (Curro, Miriam, Maria <3). They were always very kind to the kids, to our kids as well. There was painting, treasure hunting, pool games, sandcastle building contest, etc. The prizes were candies and ice-creams.... So, as a family, we are very satisfied, there is no words how satisfied we are. The sea is a few steps away from the apartments, the pool is big, we always had enough sunbeds. Never had to wait for anything. What might be bad is that there are few parking lots... But that doesn't matter, because the two weeks are an unforgettable memories. We recommend it to everyone, especially families with kids. Our apartment was large and we could comfortably fit in it.

Great location between Marbella & Fuingerola, the grounds, public areas, staff, and communal facilities are excellent, it also offers direct access to the boardwalk & beach, which is brilliant. The accommodation was clean, and the apartment offered everything you’d need for a nice holiday.

The apartments are tired, they need updating and the mattresses should be upgraded. i expected better of the Macdonald Hotel group.

Professional efficient and friendly reception staff. The apartment was spacious with a well equipped kitchen and very good air conditioning. There was a smaller 'quiet' pool separate to the larger family pool which we loved. The local restaurants were very accessible and the food was good. We stayed for 10 days and had a clean/towel & bedlinen change half way through. Would definitely stay here again

We paid extra for a sea view apartment but because of the height of the solid balcony wall, we could not see the sea if we were sitting. We could only see the from the living room or standing out on the balcony. This was disappointing ... maybe so high for child safety and if this is the case 'restricted sea view' might be a more honest description

Absolutely fabulous stay. Very accommodating and friendly staff. Beautiful location. Easy access to other areas via bus. Stop is few mins walk and bus tickets are so cheap.

Only a minor point but the drinks and snacks are expensive in the on-site restaurant and shop. Happy hr daily from 5 to 6 but with limited drinks on offer. Also splash time could be extended for kids. Pool wasn't really busy and kids with floats put out without delay after splash time ended. There is a quiet pool for adults and also deeper end of main pool is surely suffice for a float free area.

The 3 bedroom apartment very spacious for 6 of us - having 2 bathrooms was great - very well equipped and air con. Used both outdoor pools which were very relaxing but tend to be cold in the morning but as day went on got warm. The area was very clean and love the recycle initiatives. The pool bar and restaurant lovely - good range of food and drink and of course, Happy Hour - which goes very quick. Bus service to Malaga and Marbella - restaurants and bars on site together with mini supermarket.Very secure and will be looking at going back at some stage.

Our apartment was never cleaned even though we were there for 9 nights/10 days. When i queried it with reception on the day before we were leaving they told me i should have requested it at reception?????????? we were not informed. Our pool towels and apartment towels were changed once during this time though.

We have been to Dona Lola many times and it was just as good as ever. The apartment was spacious with a nice balcony and a sea view. The furnishings, although a little dated now (ginger wood and brown sofas) are good quality in good condition and comfortable. The quiet heated pool near reception is lovely with plenty of sun beds. The staff are friendly and helpful and the gardens beautifully kept. Francisco (Curro) excellent with the entertainments, particularly the Spanish lessons. It was easy to park the hire car near the apartment and many good restaurants are within walking distance. The whole area, although quite built up and busy is well kept and litter free.

Nothing. Cushions for the sun beds would make it even better (there used to be some!).

The location was good for us it was quite on an evening which was great the room was modern and well equipped and clean. We liked the quite pool when the children were not present this could have been stopped to make it a truly quite area.

I found the pool to crowded and a little small. We preferred the small pool for adults or a quite area however some parents still brought the kids which took away from the pleasure of the first two days at the quite pool. We did not get access to the room until around 4 as we were told it was being cleaned. We checked several times but they were unable to bring this forward. They said someone was late checking out. Apart from this the venue was very good. So if these areas were improved it would make a big difference

The apartments were lovely and clean and spacious beds were very comfy and kitchen was well kitted out for food prep

Our room was a ground floor with no view so we couldn’t use the out door space to our advantage The key cards are all the same black credit card style this was an issue as we were a large group travelling together and had mixed up cards I would also recommend a wrist band with a key as this would help with access to pool and bar area we had seen lots of mishaps with food and drink when people were trying to use keys to get out of the gate
