One Shot Palacio Conde de Torrejón 09

I booked this room because it had a terrace - I knew the room itself would be on the small side but I was on my own and it was absolutely fine. Despite the fact it was mid October, the terrace was too hot to use in the daytime but lovely to sit and read in the evening. I also wanted a pool, and I used this every day. The location was perfect, very quiet at night but only a short walk from attractions. 5 minutes to Alameda, Palacio de las Duenas, Las Setas, and only about 20 minutes to the cathedral and the Alcazar. I loved the fact that this was an old building with a really modern interior.

Location is a bit no man’s land, good for the north of the city but most of the good bits are a bit south, so a lot of walking to get back. Still, some really nice bars around it. That’s on us and we guessed when we booked it. Breakfast layout was a bit all over the place, and it sounds very English but the tea was poor when you just want a standard breakfast tea in the morning. Terrace was a bit wasted on our trip, no real view to enjoy and the amount we were out and about we didn’t really use it, the weather was average when we were back at the hotel. Wouldn’t have upgraded to that in retrospect given the cost.

The standard room was spacious for 2 people. The bed was extremely comfortable and we both slept really well. The bathroom was a great size and the shower was really good! Staff were so helpful and pleasant. Hotel was very modern!

I would’ve loved tea/coffee making facilities in the room. It was a little noisy outside the room but wasn’t unbearable.

Absolutely everything is excellent, including the staff who was always taking care if we were being well treated. Room is amazing, restaurant is really good, we loved everything.

Unfortunately, pool floor was closed… I believe it should be open all year since it was sunny and reasonably warm (20-22°C) AC is central, so you cannot choose between hot or cold. Since other guests requested, they chose to leave it on the heater and not on the cooling function. They do not have fans to offer as well - we had to sleep with the window open and the street is quite noisy

a bit disappointed that we could not identify on the website the fact that the hotel underground parking elevator could only fit small cars. As we were 4 people travelling together, our rental was pretty big and had to park it somewhere nearby (5-8 mins on foot but 15=20 mins by car due to city center restrictions and depending on time of day), where it also cost a bit more than at the hotel. After we parked, I tried again to find this info on the page, but it was not mentioned. However, when reading older Customer feedback, I found their comments related to the same issue. It should be visible in the field where it says they have parking. Not a big problem overall, but might be impactful for others and their budget.

The location was good - about 2O minutes walk to the cathedral/Alcazar area. It is on a quiet street but with lively areas just a stones throw in any direction. The hotel is quite recently created in an old building. There is a beautiful balance between the modern renovation and the old structure. Staff were always friendly and professional. Cleanliness was top class.

Breakfast was table service with everything on the menu included in the single fixed price. A buffet would have been faster and would have coped better with the different regional breakfast preferences of the wide variety of guest nationalities. Communication was hampered by both lack of language skills and poor listening. So we didn’t always get what we believed we had ordered. Our bed room was barely adequate in size but was nicely decorated and had a good bathroom with a big shower.

Great receptionists, very welcoming, helpful, and friendly with a smile. The Waiter from Uraguay was also friendly and helpful, providing lots of interesting information about the processions. The bed is super comfy and has comfy pillows. Given a quiet room as requested and extra pillows. Wooden shutters provide a dark room to help with sleep. The Hotel is very stylish and relaxing, especially the inner courtyard. A kettle was provided when requested. Large room and bathroom with 2 sinks and a rain shower and the high-quality bathroom products that smell wonderful.

We looked for a hotel especially one with a pool so that we could relax after lots of walking. When we booked it did not say that the pool was closed. If we had known we wouldn't have booked this hotel. It spoiled our holiday by not having the pool open. We paid extra for baggage too, when we packed our towels, costumes, etc, which we needn't have packed. We visited the roof terrace also to see the views, which was another reason for booking this hotel, but we were very disappointed to find it closed. It would have been nice to have tea and coffee-making facilities provided in the room.

Excellent location and really lovely hotel. Our second stay here, stayed in the summer and actually booked because we wanted the pool but loved the location and returned again in January (not needing the pool!) staff are wonderful and such a good spot in the city.

Room on the ground floor near to the street was quite noisy, the last time we stayed we were higher up and the room was much quieter. It didn’t spoil our stay at all but would’ve preferred it a bit quieter and when mentioned to the staff they were really apologetic and made sure to check on us the second night to ask if it was quieter (which it was)

The room, located on the ground floor, was very noisy at night and the room overall was not very comfortable, with little storage space. The check in experience could be improved - none told us the timetable for the breakfast, Wifi password when we checked in and this info wasn't in a welcome pack in the room so we had to go back and ask a few times. The pool is nice, although the space around it only allows for 6-8 people at a time so there may be days when you won't find a spot.

The staff were welcoming and was given a hand to the room with our bags. The room was well equipped and the bed was super comfy. We had a room with a terrace which was great. Everything was clean and the pool on the roof was superb.

Only let down was parking. We picked the hotel partly due to on site parking…which we couldn’t use due to our check in-check out dates! They must stack the cars according to dates I guess. No real apology for this just sent to a car park 13 minutes drive away (11 mins walk!) that cost €50 for 2 nights, or told to try our luck at on street free parking! If you advertise on site parking, guests should be able to use it.
