B&B HOTEL Tarragona Centro Urbis

No breakfast (name is a bit dated) but it sits on a corner overlooking a plaza directly across from the Central Market and with bakeries and coffee shop and restaurants at your feet. We really liked the location. Staff exceptionally eager to help and would call to check train schedules for us, etc. It has about 10 rooms a floor for 5 or so floors, with IKEA-like minimalist decor in rooms (functionality, no frills, no carpet, big windows that open for fresh air) and with a strong return clientele. Elevator is tiny but reliable. Coffee 24/7 in lobby. NOT a tourist driven location (concerts in the Plaza were mostly locals, people eating in the cafes with families likewise.) We could walk six or so blocks to a beach and swim in the Mediterranean, and there was a small laundromat two blocks away. where we did a wash-and-dry in under an hour. Found a great open-air restaurant a few blocks walk that had wide menu and prices that were 1/2 that of the cafes on Placa de la Font. We were there for a long weekend of Santa Tecla (700th commemoration, etc.) which was wild and wonderful withy parades and music and human pyramids.

Bring your own shampoo if you are particular (they have an environmentally friendly soap/shampoo combo) The rooms don't have chairs (but do have a small deck and chair) so no place to sit and read except bed. But, really, we liked it and felt so welcome that we booked a few nights when we'll be passing back through in almost 3 weeks.

Location was excellent. Staff were lovely, terrace was also lovely (Booked superior room). Market across the road was great for breakfast and a morning stroll. Accidentally fell into the bar right beneath the hotel and had the best food, drink and night in a long time! Met some other travellers from the Hotel & the staff in the bar are an absolute delight.

Only negative was the air con, it didn't work. It started blowing at hot air set to 17 degrees so we woke up in the middle of the night suffocating (Not literally). Opened the window and all was good though. But yeah, too hot.

everything was great. the staff is friendly and smiling. The coffee machine at the reception is open 24/7. the hotel is located in the center. it was a bit noisy in the morning, but that was to be expected due to the location of the hotel. the only problem we encountered was during the late registration through the terminal, the document scanner did not work. but everything was quickly resolved by calling the night operator (the phone number is indicated on the terminal). the air freshener on the floor was very caustic)) thanks to the staff, see you soon)

Everything was as advertised. We booked a Superior and Deluxe Double Room for our family of four. We loved both rooms and discovered that there are other rooms of different design. All very unique and well planned. The terace was simply perfect especially on a full moon night! Beds were soft and comfy too. Location was perfect with a paid car park a minit away. There is no restaurant facility but who needs a dining option when there are loads of choices outside plus there is a free 24 hour coffee machine downstairs that makes a good cup of coffee and a snack vending machine for when the shops outside are closed. A very pleasant stay.

The shower would flood the bathroom. A slight design fault there.

The location of the Hotel is superb, with plenty of cafeterias and the central market right opposite. The check out at 12 oclock is much appreciated. Staff is friendly and helpful. The room was quite well equiped, with a king size bed and a large flat TV, bathroom was also comfortable and spacious.

Our room (204) was facing a common yard shared with many local houses. It was quite noisy when we wanted to leave windows open, not wanting to sleep under the AC. Also, the noise proofing isn't optimal between rooms, as we could hear our neighbours conversation and banging doors all evening.

We booked a 'simple' room (not suite or something), but requested a higher floor. We received a duplex room on a floor 7 which had a window wall with AMAZING view over the city, and sea was visible too. Probably, one of the bests views in Tarragon. We watched sun set right from our room! We didn't expected that cool view. It was very warm (late March, very sunny day, many windows = greenhouse effect); we'd suppose this room becomes dangerously hot in summer.

Funnily enough, toilet sit didn't fit the size of the toilet. We are a younger couple so it wasn't a big deal. Some linear noise (ventilation?) was present during our stay and we couldn't turn it off. But it wasn't too bad.

We enjoyed our stay. The hotel was around a ten minute walk from the train station, mainly uphill. It is located in a square which holds a market twice a week I believe. Our daughters thoroughly enjoyed finding some great bargains there. There were also bars and restaurants around the square. We found check in easy and the staff were very helpful and polite. The room although a little small, was spotlessly clean and had a huge comfy bed with the softest large pillows we had seen in a hotel. The free hot drinks from the machine in the foyer were a welcome addition too. If we visit Tarragona in the future we would definitely stay again.

It would have been good to have a breakfast option.

The location was fantastic, right in the centre and easy access to the entire town. The room was amazing, great air con and wasn't too noisy at night (although I am a deep sleeper). Staff were very kind and patient. The final check-out time was relatively late which was great for me to catch up on jet lag. I arrived extremely late to Tarragona so the 24h machine check-in was perfect (almost).

I had trouble getting access to the building since it's an automatic and keyless system that I didn't understand. I had to be let in by other guests in the end. Room was maybe a little small and lift was out of order so I had to use many flights of staircases carrying suitcase up and down.

A fantastic hotel perfectly located in the centre of Tarragona. Everything a short walk away, including restaurants, cafes, bars, markets, train station, beach, etc. You walk out of the hotel and in less than 1 minute are at the Mercat Central - a great place to pick up a coffee, snack and fruit before you begin your day. The room itself was very comfortable, the air conditioning was quiet and the bed was super comfy. Also a nice spacious shower. I would highly recommend this hotel for a short stay in Tarragona.

Due to the central location, we were woke up to the sounds of construction works on one of the mornings. But this is of course no fault of the hotel and construction has got to be done!

I guess it is the fate of the solo traveller to be given the rooms that are either at a forgotten corner of a hotel or overlooking the area at the back where the view is the neighbours' back balconies. That being said, the room was rather spacious and the bathroom one of the largest ones I've seen in a hotel of that range. Very good location right next to the new rambla and very close to restaurants and cafes. A walking distance from most of the sights. Overall a rather pleasant stay.
