First and Foremost - Sri Lanka as a country real needs support from tourism - so would recommend everyone visit the country. Special Mention to Gamini Kumara at the Restaurant - He was super helpful and took really good care of us at breakfast The hotel is new and in in the heart of the tourist location of Colombo right next to the Dutch Hospital - Everything you might want to visit in terms of landmarks is within walking distance of the hotel There are lots of restaurants, cafes and bars to suit all budgets in and around the hotel - so you don't need public transport Would definitely recommend everyone to stay here

They need to improve the quality of coffee served at breakfast - we found it to be too weak

It seems silly to write this but……the TV remote was SO!!! frustrating. We could not, for the life of us, work out how to get the remote to talk to the TV. It was IMPOSSIBLE!!!

Lovely little boutique hotel, only 18 months old. Our room was on L6 with nice nighttime views of the city - the open rooftop has the most amazing city views, especially the beautiful Lotus Tower at night. We loved our room, quite spacious and very comfortable, air con was excellent - the heat of the day can be quite draining. Bed & pillows super comfortable, English-speaking movie channels on TV, modern bathroom with an excellent shower. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Great location on a narrow laneway with a fab cafe Java Lounge a few doors down (excellent coffee) and lovely little Dutch bar with outdoor seating. Across the laneway is the historic Dutch Hospital, now comprised off lovely restaurants and quality shops, popular with tourists. There is lots of courtyard seating, plus live music, really nice spot to eat and relax. We loved The Ceylon Curry Club so much we had lunch & dinner there the same day. Mister Crab is also very popular. Watch out for overly friendly locals who claim to work at your hotel or something similar - they are in cahoots with Tuk Tuk drivers and will try to persuade you to take a ride … then charge you an exorbitant fee. Ignore them and book your Tuk Tuk tour through a reputable source.

We got very good service, breakfast, and very spacious rooms with great bedmatress. Opposite restaurants and bar area and close to central station.

Comfortable with everything you need for a short stop in Colombo for your Sri Lanka trip or for a short business trip. Good location as well.

I stayed here twice during the same holiday, the first time I had a better room and everythingwas perfect, the second time the room had some insects on the bed and furniture, I mentioned it to the staff the day after. They took note of it but apart from an apology they didn't offer any discounts or a complimentary breakfast (wasn't included in the room I booked the 2nd time). I think considering the situation would have been appropriate.

Great location in the old Dutch Hospital quarter. City center easy reach. Great bars and lots to do in local area.

We liked it all!

I stayed at Zest Metropole on the 9th of July 2022, the day of the Sri Lankan revolution. Together with the friendly staff, I enjoyed the excellent views from the rooftop seeing how the people of Sri Lanka took back control of their democracy. The occasional teargas grenade fireworks were a bonus, but sometimes a bit irritating in the eyes and throat. I witnessed the how police and army, with little resistance as they also knew what had to be done to save their country from the continuous mismanagement of the now ex-president, let the people storm the President's house and secretariat which was close to the hotel. The staff of the hotel was cheering, and I was with them during this special moment. Due to the heavy police and army presence, I checked out later than expected. For this, I was not charged. The hotel offered me nice afternoon tea, while I witnessed the people breaking through blockades set up by authorities. After which, I saw the protesters sharing food, drinks, and cigarettes with police officers. All very peaceful. Glad to have stayed at Zest during this special day in Sri Lanka, the staff has been amazing.

The restaurant (external as I understood) could offer a bit more variety for the price they are asking for. Similar meals can be bought around the corner at a small local restaurant for 1/5th of the price. It tasted good though.

Breakfast was awesome and we got out breakfast from the restaurant there. Fantastic super duper delicious food varieties were there. Also, the room was super comfy and the facilities were on next level.

A very nice hotel and easily accessible. There was a very good restaurant on the floor with great menu to select and pay for lunch or dinner. My train to Kandy was at 6.30 AM, they provided me very tasty packed breakfast which was arranged sharp at 5.30AM on my request.The staff was great and very well behaved. They obliged me by keeping my extra luggage in their store for the duration, I travelled to Kandy and Nawara Eliya. Perfect place to stay.

I usually came outside in the veranda to relax or smoke, I found some undesirable people around to get chummy or demand some favour. Since this place was within the hotel premises, the management should not allow such people for undesirable interaction with guests.

The hotel is under very good management. Staff were well trained and well mannered. Hotel decorations were mordant and slick. Rooms are comfortable, my room came with big windows with pleasant city views. I also like the fact that the front desk gentleman was very efficient. He let me look at rooms on different directions and on different floors. It really makes me feel that they want you to be happy. The check in was easy and quick, a glass of orange juice was offered when you most needed. I had extended my stay. Would have extended more nights if the rain stopped. By the way, they offered umbrellas for guests.
