I really liked the fact that each bed had its own little curtain one could close for a bit more privacy or darkness. The location was great as well - the hostel is close to the train station as well as the city centre, so you can easily walk to all of the main sites but also pop back to the hostel any time during the day if you need a bit of a break. I did not make use of the kitchen, but there is one, and the tables for sitting and making use of the hostel's free wifi were also a plus.

There was not a lot of daylight due to a lack of windows, and the doors made a loud noise when closing. It would have been good to know in advance that you need to bring your own lock if you want to make sure your stuff doesn't get stolen. Since there was no staff on site, it did not feel super safe leaving my luggage at the hostel after checkout either - it seems quite easy for unauthorized people to get in.

Fantastic location, very close to the train station, restaurants/cafes, parks, and attractions. Plenty of space to cook, eat, and hang out. Several places to enter code and use key, so felt secure. Clean. Fans in room. I was able to enter my room early before check in and used the facilities for a few hours after check out, which was great. Quiet during my stay, even though it looked like all rooms were in use. Although there’s no luggage storage for before check in/after checkout, you are free to leave luggage under the check in desk which is behind one or two doors that require entry codes. There were a lot of bags stored there during the day and it felt pretty safe, especially as the cleaners and other friendly guests were around.

The place was great and there are only a couple minor things: the lack of secure luggage storage for early/late check in and out, and all the doors tended to slam (difficult to prevent making noise) but guests were respectful and kept decent hours during my stay so it didn’t effect my sleep.

If you just need an overnight stay and don't want to book one of the expensive hotels, this is a perfect spot. Of course it's a hostel with shared facilities, but it's spotless. Also a large kitchen available, with tables etc., everything clearly explained. Entering with doorcodes, but communication with the owners is perfect and helpful. They think along with you. You can either prepare something to eat for yourself (storage room by name in fridge) or go to the numerous spots around.

Nothing actually. It's exactly as described: a hostel and not a fancy hotel. But it's nice and clean. And friendly

The Hostel is located in the centrum of Lund, very close to shops and restaurants. The beds were comfortable and the little curtain on the bed made the experience better. The kitchen was clean and organised. The staff was very friendly and a problem about my towel was solved fast, easy and very nicely. The bathroom reserved for my dorm room was clean.

The stalls and sinks that are available to the other guests as well were dirty at the two times that I visited them when the bathroom reserved for my dorm was being used. I'm sure they were cleaned, but it was obvious that a lot of people used them and that they'd maybe need more frequent cleaning up because some guests don't seem to know how to clean up after themselves...

The room was quite nice. Beds with curtains, light and sockets inside so you don’t have to worry about wanting to read or such if people are sleeping. A big drawer to put your stuff in, + wardrobe to hang coats etc (no lockers though). I was there in February and when I arrived it was totally empty. A couple people arrived in my room on the following day. As it is stated there is no personnel, I was happy with checking in and out by myself as the instructions are clear. But If you want a social experience it might not be the best place, I don’t know how it is in summer though. I had a friend in Lund and ate food from outside with him in the “common area” which has tables, a sofa and the kitchen. The showers and toilets were nice and clean.

Maybe not the cheapest hostel considering it was off-season but it might not get much cheaper in Scandinavia anyway.

Very clean, very good location close to city center and central station, super fast communication via mail (my emails got answered within minutes). I was in a very spacious dorm with many windows and a nice wooden floor. Very quiet.

With the unmanned reception it doesn't feel like a hostel. No real common area or organized activities so it felt very anonymous and there was no communication between travelers. But other than that a nice place to stay.

The soap in the shower was something unexpected and I liked it, the location was one of the best. The kitchen was clean with sorted trash cans. I liked the receptionless service. Also two doors to enter the facility. High ceiling sleeping capsule, you can stand in it if you are not tall. But I think it is better than bunk beds it feels more free to move and makes less noise. Also the room was big you could easily fit your bag in the locker which also had hangers , or in the room without blocking any roommate. Also there was extra storage in the room as well

The sleeping capsules could have extra shelfs, the one I was in had a small one. It would be nice to have a towel hanger next to the capsule or inside it. Locker labels and bed labels

The very kind and extremely helpful assistance offered me by Jacob the manager. He helped sort out a problem I created for myself due to lack of good vision and got it all sorted and settled with me. Also the staff were very helpful in other ways. I have recommended Winstrup to my colleagues on music tours from Scotland and Ireland of which they will likely make goos use of when they come to Sweden to play. Tapaleidh mor!

Check-in was smooth. Very close to the railway station. The mini hotel rooms are very tiny but good for a night or two or if travelling with little baggage. The bathrooms were very clean. I found the bed also comfortable and there was also a fan and a warming element, in case it gets very hot or cold. I did not use the kitchen, but it looked also clean and had all the amenities you need, including coffee machine.

The WiFi was weak in my room. There wasn't much space to open my suitcase, but as I said it is good for a night or two or if you travel with little baggage. The front green wooden door stuck at some point and I could not get in, but a couple of tourists came and helped push a little harder. It would be nice to fix it or send instructions how to get in, in case it is closed (push/draw, turn/do not turn the handle, etc.)

Great location in the heart of Lund. Great to have good cooking facilities and was able to do laundry for extra fee. Easy self check in and out.

Children’s daycare above acts as an alarm clock in the mid-week with lots of running stamping about - not a relaxing atmosphere or great to be studying in the communal areas but a nice excuse to visit the city library or one of the many coffee shops that is close by.
