Good location, close to trams, green and quiet around, outdoor terrace with relaxing river sound and birds singing.

To connect to wifi they require you sign up with your phone number and introduce special code you need to receive via SMA to your mobile phone. This requires EU travelers to activate roaming and incur high roaming charges for Switzerland (not part of the EU roaming service). It happened to me and my invoice was really high due to the time I spend in roaming trying to get the wifi activation code via SMS in roaming. This hostel should offer wifi service free of charge connected NOT through paying for international roaming services.

I love the location, close to many things including the river. The hostel architecture is beautiful, the common areas are big and feels like a good place to be with friends. The room was cozy, lots of toilets in front of the room. The breakfast was excellent, good selection of food.

You need local currency coins to use the lockers, there are no tokens. The lady in reception told me I needed one coin for the lockers but the coin I needed for the locker in the room was a different value, she did not mention this thus I could not lock my stuff. It was ok anyway

Staff at as do friendly and helpful. My flight had been diverted so I arrived very late. They stayed to get me checked in with no problems. Breakfast buffet (included) was amazing! As a vegan, I definitely appreciated the soy lattes and wide variety of goods I could eat.

Minor issue. There was a youth group staying there and the kids were wild and loud. To be fair, they did settle down for quiet hours. However, early at 07:00 am, rude teachers were pounding on the kids’ doors to wake them up. The rest of us got an early wake up as well.

I really do like the vibe of the hostel. It's very spacious, minimal but chic. The receptionists were very helpful and nice. Breakfast was superb! Bed was comfortable even I was on the upper bunk bed. The hostel is situated in a safe environment and very interesting to explore. There is a river nearby and its surrounded with trees. Additional factor was, its near in a tram station and if you want to explore on foot, its a 10 min. walk toward the city center. I just got lucky that my roommates were very friendly and we build an instant friendship and explore the city together. I would definitely be staying here if I'll visit Basel again.

As an architect I absolutely felt in love of the hostel's design. The common area and reception make you feel like you are in a very luxury hotel. The lockers and sink are separeted from beds area and nobody disturb you when wardrobe and sink are being used. There are many showers and wc, you don't wait to use them and they are very clean.

Check-in is at 15.00, if you consider that the weather gets dark early in winter it is a bit late. But they let me drop my bags to the locked bicycle room for free. Breakfast was weak.

Amazing for a youth hostel! Staff were friendly and helpful, beds were very comfortable, bathrooms were immaculately clean. Building is beautiful inside and out and it's a great location too (very close to the amazing Basel Paper Museum!).

No gluten or dairy free options for breakfast apart from a small amount of fruit. Due to the time of the year (January), there were not very many guests, this made for a very quiet stay which was lovely but I was also looking forward to meeting other travellers so was a bit sad about this.

Lovely helpful staff, especially the late night staff was very responsive throughout my early morning arrival and last minute booking. Convenient lockers, good options for breakfast. Great location, close to centre and transport but nice and quiet, the little brook under the window was amazing to sleep to!

Would be nice if the lockers in the rooms worked with the same as the basement ones. The push operated showers were a bit finnecky, they don't stay on for long.

Location is nice you are 1 km from main tourist attractions, breakfast was need very nice , room was small 6 beds but clean. Laura was very friendly on the reception and helped me with all my questions

The lockers in the rooms work only with 2 franc coin, which is not ok if you don't have coins or francs. I tried to ask on the reception to give them 2 euro coin for the night for 2 franc coin and exchange them back in the morning but it was not possible, so i used locker without locking it. There are no electricity sockets with EU standard or at least usb plugs and you need to give deposit to reception to rent you EU to Switzerland connector. Also i didn't find hairdryer , may be they have but i was lazy to ask again on the reception.

I was placed in a dorm alone. it was great. new facilities it seemed. very functional. really nice hostel. I am tall and heavy too so the bunks passed the test.

The lockers should be free for people staying in the hostel. And certainly shouldn't use coins in 2023. Also, decent continental breakfast but could have used more cooked food, but still very good.

The location was great and the surroundings of the building were beautiful. Dinner/breakfast can be altered for people with allergies. The lockers were a great size.

It would be good to have the ability to chose whether to have mixed dorms or gender seperate dorms. Also, it appears there used to be a games room on level -1 but this is no longer open.
