It’s the 2nd time I stay at this hotel. The location is fabulous. 3 minute walk to the Metro which whisks you up into town. Right across from the Ouchy Port and Lac Leman waterfront which is vibrant, colourful and very pretty. 5 minute walk to the port area where the boat tours are. Pharmacy and Coop also very close. Lots of restaurants around, although a bit pricey due to their location. Hotel gives you the Lausanne card which allows you free public transit within city zones, as well as a discount to the Olympic Museum (walking distance), among other places. Rooms/bathrooms are spacious and very clean. Lovely varied breakfast buffet with specialty coffee made for you. Gluten free options available. At 15CHF/per person/per day, it’s a bit steep but we were willing to pay for the convenience of having it close, so we could eat and leave for the day. Would stay here again.

Not an issue for us, but no AC as per many of the older hotels in Europe. Fan available in the room and we kept the windows open. We also had a room with a Lake view- that being said, the 2 restaurants below, and the waterfront area are busy until about 10:30pm. In the morning, you get a beautiful view of the lake but it starts to get busy outside by 7 with people going to work. So if you like to sleep in late, request a room on the other side of the hotel. We are early risers so a non-issue for us.

Hotel Du Port is on the lake front, 3 minutes walk from Ouchy-Olympique M2 metro stop or 20 minutes walk from Lausanne train station. The old town is back up towards the train station probably a 30 minute walk from the hotel or 10 minutes on the metro, plenty of options for getting around. The view of the lake is spectacular and I had the same view from my room (single), worth the money for that alone. The room was clean, comfy and a good size with en suite and TV. The staff were welcoming on arrival and a bonus was having a travel card included for all the buses/metro's in the area - from what I understand you get these in places where you pay city tax during your stay. Public transport is cheap enough anyway but to have it cover the duration of my stay was great. There are plenty of places to eat nearby including the hotels own restaurant, along with several supermarkets (Coop & Migros). Highly recommended and would stay again.

Great service! You can have a breakfast/ lunch/ dinner while looking at the lake. It was great. The hotel is 15 mins walking distance from the train station of Lausanne. Also, the first/ last stop of the subway is a minute away walking from the hotel. You can get the subway to the city centre, cathedral, or to the train station (Lausanne Garre). Absolutely 20 out of 10 points - amazing location. The Ferry stop to France is just on the other side of the street. The park is in front of the hotel and the Olympic museum is 15 mins walking distance away from the hotel. Top spot!

Lack of A/C but it turned out that this is rather not applicable to Switzerland at all. So all good.

We liked everything about this cozy and spotless hotel, steps away from the lake. The hotel restaurant has excellent food at a reasonable price. The staff of both the hotel and restaurant are superb. Room # 18 has a fantastic view of the lake. There is plenty of storage for your things. We were there 5 nights.

We liked everything. We have no complaints. It is hot in August in Switzerland and air conditioning, but they haven't e fans which help.

Excellent location for sightseeing, car parking nearby, bus stop, metro all within walking distance, the hotel handed us a free travel pass which was a bonus, staff were friendly and very helpful, a large variety of food available at breakfast.

Tea and coffee making facilities in the room would have been a nice addition

The hotel is located very conveniently in the centre of Lausanne, close to the lake and the Olympic museum. The underground parking with a reduced price for hotel guests was 5 minutes away from the hotel. Our room was very spacious and clean. The personnel was friendly and efficient. Definitely will stay here again.

The room was slightly too hot. There is no air-conditioning in the room, but it is a general problem in Switzerland.

This hotel is at an excellent location. It is water front and a 10-minute walk from the ferry terminal. The staff is friendly and very helpful.

We had the terrace room on the 3rd floor and the view is simply magnificent. The only downside is that the hotel's wading pool and sauna are also located on the terrace, right outside the room, so privacy was a bit of an issue as we had people in the pool right outside our room. But all in all, it was a great experience!

The location couldn't be better, it has great view of the lake. The breakfast is great and you can take it on the terrasse, with the best views. They'll give you a discount card for the parking which is located right next to the hotel.

Room decoration is a bit old, but actually it is better in real life than on the pictures, so we were quite satisfied, also rooms are big and bathroom is good, so it's a good price.

The staff exhibited friendliness and courtesy, the room was exceptionally clean, and the stunning lake view and convenient access to the metro made for a great experience. The restaurant staff, especially during breakfast, were incredibly friendly and accommodating.

The only minor comment is that the free WiFi I used had a very low speed.

The situation overlooking the lake is superb and with the advantage of proximity to the metro and buses to take you to all Lausanne's sites. The restaurant has a wide range of choices at reasonable prices and open all day until late evening. However I particularly liked the staff who were very friendly with wonderful service. I really enjoyed my stay enormously.
