The standard of this place as a youth hostel is excellent. Everything is simple, somewhat brutalist, but I had a double bedroom with my own bathroom and a working desk for two people. I was travelling for a conference at the university campus nearby. I chose this hostel for proximity and price since I paid with my own money and I come from a middle-income country. There is a cosy green patio inside and a wonderful park next to the beach at the Leman Lake across the motorway. The hostel offers a free public transport pass for the entire length of the stay.

Since this is a youth hostel, you may expect some youngsters singing outside until midnight but older folks also happen to stay there. The noise from the motorway can be only heard in the bathroom. There was also no air conditioning in my room -- I stayed in the hottest period and I only covered myself with the sheets. I am not sure if there are heaters in the rooms to warm them up in winter. Please ask the hostel personnel if there are such conveniences.

Very friendly and helpful staff, they were so lovely and made me feel welcome. The location is not bad, close to the lake shore and easily accessible on foot or by transport from the city centre. Breakfast was basic but tasty. Also they offer a transport card for all Lausanne to use during the stay which is very convinient.

The facilities of the showers are very limited. The rooms are not well isolated so it can be pretty noisy, specially with so many kids running and playing in the corridors.

Excellent location, friendly and efficient staff, clean, good continental-style breakfast, reasonably priced evening meals (not included in room price), spacious rooms, good facilities.

Our twin bed room was very hot with small high windows that didn’t help to cool it (in a July heatwave). Room soundproofing wasn’t good - we could hear next door people talking. And, finally, there was a lot of noise at night - 1st night, a noisy party until early hours, 2nd night, family in the hostel’s garden area up very late being very noisy. Bring earplugs, definitely.

What I absolutely loved was the breakfast buffet and also the public transport ticket which is also included in the price. The architecture is beautiful, minimal and brutalist with exposed steel and concrete. During my stay, the vibe was in a way business casual, people would have early breakfast and head out for work, in the evening there were people engaged in calm and quiet conversations over a cup of tea or a glass of wine. In general the place was very peaceful and quiet during my stay of 3 nights.

Very good price/comfort ratio, would stay there again.

There was quite a lot of noise from the inner yard, which was annoying, especially after 10 pm. So if you want to sleep well, get a room on the front side of the hostel or accept the fact that you are staying in the Youth hostel where people younger than you just want to have fun. Or stay outside with them, because complaining to the hostel staff doesn´t solve much.

Breakfast was quite fabulous. Rooms were clean and workably spacious. We liked the ambience and the exterior layout of the property. A bit out of the Lausanne town centre, but public transport facilities are nearby , so no issue for connections. Reception people was highly helpful with smiling face. They efficiently arranged for taxis for our group also, at the time of check out.

Bathrooms could have been a bit more spacious. And, though small issue, some softer pillows would have been appreciated.

The staff for the breakfast time were very friendly and polit. The breakfast itself was with various options and big windows of the dining room made a good view of the garden outside. The place is closed to the lake and green area near that.

It is far from the center. The bed was not really comfortable and no light or plug was provided for each bed. The reception staff were polit but not knowledge about the city pass that hotel provides nor the places to eat or visit.

The hostel is very nice and has an amazing garden where chill and have breakfast. The breakfast was included, and that surprised me a lot: there were a lot of choices, also for vegans, and the restaurant was quite big.

It is quite expensive to be a hostel (ofc we are in Switzerland but still), and there are not so many showers and toilets available for the guests. However, overall my experience was extremely positive!

Good location, close to Olympic committee, next to lake. Nice architecture. Walking distance to town, but a bus ticket was included. Good and affordable dinner

Not exactly cheap, but this is Lausanne... Mostly used by kids who make a bit of noise into the night. Heat cannot be adjusted. Water temperature at sink could not be set, sometimes warm then cold.

Clean rooms and facilities. Staff knows several languages, they seemed to have no problems with an kind of guests arriving. Cool garden and satisfying breakfast options.

My room didn't have a separate space for my stuff as most hostels do so it was a bit challenging. Common area could be more inviting but I guess that's just Switzerland :)
