Chateau Bossey belongs to the World Council of Churches, so if you are going there for a meeting, it is an excellent place to stay. We stayed in a fairly basic room, with shower and toilet on the corridor. But the room was clean, well-furnished, comfortable and had a very good desk. If you're not going for a meeting there, not sure what you'd stay for - it's a long way from anywhere - at least fifteen minutes walk to the nearest bus stop, and restaurants. The food, however, in the chateau is good, and by Swiss standards a reasonable price, so you wouldn't need to go anywhere. The breakfast was good, too. So, if you are visiting someone there, or going for a meeting, you will have a great place to stay (and some rooms are, I think, en suite), otherwise, I really don't know why you would go, but it's relatively accessible for Geneva, and if you have a car for the surrounding countryside, so it may be an option.

There's no clear information on the website about how to get there by public transport, and given how complicated it is, it would be helpful, or perhaps some numbers of taxi firms. We got a bus to Bogis Bossey from Coppet (from airport to Geneva, then change train at Geneva) and walked about twenty minutes - if you are walking, this is the best route, as it's downhill from the bus stop! But more information about how to arrive would have helped.

The grounds were fabulous! Our daughter liked the animals we found in the garden, like birds and butterflies. We made use of the chess board in the garden. There was dinner on arrival, which cost extra but saved us to look for an eatery elsewhere. Rooms were comfy and very clean. Rooms had a sink, which was handy. TV was good to follow some of the Olympics. There was ample space to eat outside. Gluten-free food was provided upon request. There is plenty of choice for breakfast.

The rooms were in the attic and very, very hot. This made it necessary to keep the windows open, which meant we woke up with plenty of mosquito bites. The bathroom was separate. This was OK for us as we were the only guests using it but might not be to everyone's taste. The beam in the bathroom gave us all a headache. We're tall people, and we all knocked our heads at least once. A painful experience. Maybe it would be better cushioned to soften the blow.

The building and grounds are lovely with a view of distant Lake Geneva and the French Alps. The small bedroom was very clean , the beds comfortable, but it lacked hotel facilities such as tea/coffee making. Maybe rooms on the other floor were larger. The evening meal was good and a reasonable price. The students at the Institute were delightful and polite.

The write-up listed an elevator, and when we checked in we discovered it only went up one level and our room was on the second floor. There was no one or no offer to help us with the luggage. We learned that the building was an Eucumenical Institute and was now partly a hotel.

Château de Bossey was a lucky find to accommodate my meeting marathon while bike touring. A conference center (great WiFi), a fairly basic but perfectly sufficient hostel and an ecumenical institute. The building belongs to the World Council of Churches. Even has a little chapel. The variety of guests made for an interesting group dinner: Language students, pilgrims, cyclists, a female group of theologians. There is a buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner - usually fish, meat and veg. The sunbathed 18th-century gem is perched above Lake Geneva, atop a steep hill in the middle of the alpage. The views are spectacular. As much as I could see myself settling down here I continued my bike tour after two night. Should have stayed longer. Depending on time of year bring mosquito repellant or a plug. I can’t wait to come back to this soulful place and explore the entire region above the lake. Thank you for the hospitality! :)

should have brought mosquito repellant. lovely friendly man at reception gave me a plug which worked well. thank u.

The chateau is in a beautiful location especially if you enjoy peace and quiet also hiking. There are beautiful views of the lake and wonderful gardens to enjoy. I was there to attend an art and writing seminar it was ideal to spend a peaceful evening there beforehand. The staff were very kind and welcoming. Close by in the village of Celigny I had a lovely lunch in a Thai restaurant. I would definitely stay again.

Good to find out before you arrive if the resteraunt is actually open. It wasn't the night I stayed however there were some meals there that could be heated. Overall not really a problem.

The location and the chateau were both beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed walking round the gardens in the evening sun. Very helpful staff made us welcome and made sure we were located near each other. Plenty of seating indoor and out in the common areas. Comfy bed and peaceful at night. The breakfast offered an impressive array of food and drink. A great place for an overnight stay on the way to the mountains.

The rooms were clean but a little spartan. Shared toilets and showers, though there didn't appear to be many other guests sharing in our area. Quite remote, so the only realistic option was to eat on site in the evening. We'd had a big late lunch, so didn't need dinner, but what was on offer looked good, also local wine, though the dining area was closed quite early and no staff around to provide 'bar service' later.

Beautiful view from the room and terrace. Nice grounds. Enjoyed tea and dinner on the sunny terrace. Very friendly staff. Breakfast buffet (bread, croissants, cheeses, cold cuts, fruit salad, fruit...) and cantine-style dinner were wonderful. Wifi worked well. Dinner times are well communicated, but are shorter than at a restaurant (closes at 20:00).

Nothing -- really liked the place.

This hotel is in a good location if you want to see the area north of Lake Geneva. The rooms are simple but have all that we needed. It has a lot of space for parking. The Chateau is an ecumenical centre as well, and has peaceful gardens and views of the surrounding hills and countryside. It's a peaceful place to stop to get away from cities and roads.

Everything was as it should be.

The ambient was great, if was a pleasure taking breakfast outside. The architecture of the buildings, the garden with the plants, the vicinity of the lake. The place provides a feeling of space. When we arrived, it was late at night and a wedding party was taking place. The next day boxes of empty bottles proved that the party was excellent, one could still feel how the good time seems like. Yet we sleeped well since our rooms were in another building remote, hidden in the wood.

We liked everything about the stay. However, we had problems arriving to the place, spent several hours going up and down between Geneve and Lausanne. We could not connect by wifi as Switzerland is not a part of the EU net that we had and we relied on the help of good people to direct us. A lady in a hotel on the way printed a map for us, but it was not informative enough as regards exits on the highway. As Chateau de Bosay is a bit hidden in the woods, we feel lucky to have found it at all. We assumed to come in the afternoon and go to a walk besides the lake at the evening. As we had to be in Lyon the next day as soon as possible, we were not able to even see the shore of the beautiful lake. We wished to be able to stay another day.
