The location was spot on and the lady on reception took her time to show us about and also helped with our bags

No air con, although had a Dyson fan that helped. The bathroom was a bit dated. The lady on reception who showed us about told me I was too quick when asking for our food and drinks.. but we were tired and wanting to get to bed (and were hungry)…. But didn’t appreciate being told we were impatient clearly after travelling all day to get there. Also no availability of onsite parking which was our fault for not pre booking

Beautiful historical building right on the lake. Close to everything. Very nice staff and very interesting architecture. Lunch and dinner at the hotel were very nice.

Breakfast. Really disappointing compared to the quality of the hotel. Not much selection. They bring a cold cut/cheese plate to the table, and there are some basic items to choose from in a "buffet". In addition, it was very noisy as the staff is arranging cutlery the whole time you are trying to enjoy your breakfast.

We waited two years (because of the corona virus) for our vacation in this magical castle. This is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful sites in Switzerland. A real castle, gives you the feeling you are a real king. All hotel services are excellent, the staff is friendly and hospitable. The continental breakfast is served in the dining room with a view of the lake We had a pampering, luxurious, and very special vacation. Only good things can be said about this magical place. Although the price is not cheap, it is worth the money. This is one of the most beautiful castles in Europe and the best service we received in Switzerland

Only good things can be said about this magical place. Can't find anything negative about this hotel. The parking is outside the site, but it is for the benefit of the guests and is intended to preserve this magical place

The staff was very helpful. They even took Chris to the pharmacy for medicine for Nelly.

The menu was limited and we ate the same breakfast everyday and the dinner menu was also limited. More choices would have been preferred. We had to repeat the same dinner 3 times. A shuttle would be nice rather than busses and taxis. We would recommend a rental car for guests.

Living in Australia, we don't have castles. So the opportunity to stay in a castle was too good to pass up. Schloss Schadau did not disappoint. We were met at reception by Helen who could not have been more helpful and was also had a wealth of knowledge about the property. She personally showed us to our beautiful room which had a magnificent view of the lake and the Alps behind. If you stay here you simply MUST have dinner here as well. Again there is no escaping from the fact that you are in a castle ! The dining room(s) are luxurious and the food and the service are excellent, matching the decor. Breakfast is served in the same location. It wasn't cheap, but hey ! It's a castle. If you are able to stay one night or more here. You should do it. Unforgettable.

Everything was amazing ! Perfect room, everyone was very nice with us (we were there to compete for an Ironman and were offered special services related to the race - for example an early breakfast which was absolutely perfect). The castle is beautiful, the location is extremely nice, the food is lovely… I will definitely come back !

On Saturday evening there were people having dinner on the first floor, quite close to our room which made it a little bit noisy especially when the people left (around 10:30). But it wasn’t a big problem :)

A very nicely located hotel with a very interesting past. We were lucky and were at the hotel on that day when they offer a guided tour. It costs a bit, but is definitely worth the money. You learn a lot about the history of the building and the restoration. You also get to see places you wouldn't otherwise get to (small rooftop). The very friendly manager and host had a lot of patience and also stayed long at the subsequent apero with good wine. We appreciated that very much. The dinner tasted excellent. And the breakfast was simply fantastic. Thanks to the good weather we could have it on the terrace with a beautiful view of the lake and the mountains. The room was well furnished and spacious. Rarely did we hear another hotel guest. The slight creaking of the floor is just part of the history here. The elaborate staircase is a feast for the eyes.

I can't think of a single time I've been able to choose to have the included breakfast at lunchtime, and what a breakfast, a silver platter with multiple meats, cheeses and fish plus a home made buffet. Fine dining dinner was full of flavor. All the staff were super friendly, spoke English and were very accommodating. This property is incredible, not only the most spectacular location, but every detail of this historic property is so well preserved. All plumbing fixtures like shower, toilets look brand new and it's clear the property is maintained beautifully.

Stayed there for one night at duluxe room with lake view. the room position was brilliant, highest floor at castle corner — which enables the room have two balconies, facing the lake/mountain and side views separately. Room/Bathroom was super spacious, comfortable bed. A 24h lounge with espresso/tea bag. Another delightful surprise is guest can use the next door 4-star hotel (congress hotel)’s spa & sauna for free — and there sauna was the best since my Finland experience these many years

a few minor issues to be improved: 1. my room run out of tissue/room fragrance 2. lounge’s espresso machine was out of order in pm till next morning back to normal function 3. breakfast wasn’t buffet, and supply/options were a bit limited

What can you say about staying in a fabulous castle except that it was the experience of a lifetime? We usually don't stay in places like this, so we really soaked it up. The room was huge! The view could not be better! We were absolutely spoiled. Breakfast was great.

It would have been nice having help getting our luggage upstairs, but there was no help. They did seem a little under-staffed.
