The front staff were outstanding. Juri and Sara were pleasant, efficient and accommodating in all aspects. truly exceptional. The room was absolutely spotless. I’ve never stayed anywhere where the windows were so clean. The fixtures in the bathroom were also spotless, despite the water which has high mineral content. All excellent!!!

The location of the Hotel is picture perfect: on the lake, by the lovely marina, with the mountains in the back. The docking place of the boat/ferry that goes around the lake is a couple of minutes walking from the hotel. The castle is right behind the hotel. Small restaurants, cafés, playground, walking trails, mini-golf - all within short walking distance. There is also a lovely "toy-train" that goes around the village and up the hill to the main station, for a mere 3 euros; the children loved it! The hotel has a restaurant with a beautifully situated terrace on the lake, perfect for an evening dinner. It is all very quiet, very lovely, very clean and peaceful. The kids also have fun giving bits of bread to the ducks on the lake, bobbing between the sail boats. Loved our stay, could have happily stayed longer!

Inside the hotel is a bit dated, but it is also part of the charm. The rooms with front view to the lake are quite expensive, so we had a back view to the castle (with side view to mountain and tiny bit of marina), which was ok, but at times a bit noisy from the parking place just bellow our balcony.

The restaurant was great. We had two dinners and two breakfasts there and the service was excellent and the food delicious. The location of the restaurant by the lake is wonderful and the ambiance in the evening is very nice. The hotel is very clean and the location near the ferry is fantastic. The staff was helpful and welcoming.

Our room was a bit small and it was facing the street, which was very noisy late at night and early in the morning. Because our room was not facing the lake, we did not get much of a breeze and it was very hot (this was in July). On the plus side, the front desk lady in the evening got us a fan which helped a lot. Make sure you get a room facing the lake (none was available for us).

Excellent location! The nearby park is fabulous. The room had a balcony with comfy chairs. The room was on the street side (view of the castle), so it could get a little noisy in the evenings until about 23:00, but having a door to open to let in cooler evening air was better than having a window, with the same amount of noise. Breakfast was good, enjoyed sitting on the terrace on the water.

The shower in the bathroom was tiny. The drive to get there to check in was a little difficult, but once we had a parking pass, going to the garage was much easier.

Great location on the lakeside, next to the marina and the little castle. (The drawback to the location is that the station and town centre shops are a 10-15 minute uphill walk away. But there is a bus every hour.) The single room was a good size, with a nice balcony. Everything clean and of good standard. Breakfast more than adequate, nice fresh bread rolls. Friendly reception staff. Overall a good place for a quiet relaxing break, but Spiez is also well connected by rail to Interlaken, Bern and Brig if you want to explore further.

There was a kettle in the room, but you have to go down to reception to pick up coffee/tea (nice selection) and a paper cup (disappointing). Drinking from a paper cup really lowers the tone...

The location was excellent, a short walk down from the station, the ferries leaving nearby and bus stop close by too. It was a comfortable room, nice pillows and little balcony with comfy chairs to sit in to read. Although it was overlooking the road, it was quiet at night. I was able to leave the balcony door open when it was hot at night, as well as the balcony window. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. There was a nice walk round the lake and we overlooked an interesting building and chapel.

Reception staff were lovely and check in and out was very smooth. Even got a little gift at the end of our stay! The room was very spacious and quiet, and the balcony had a lovely view over the marina and Niesen. Lovely breakfast, looking out on to the marina. Excellent location for exploring lake Thun, Interlaken and the Bernese Oberland. Train station is 15 minute walk away (uphill) but still very convenient.

No Aircon in room so was a bit hot at night but with windows open was comfortable enough.

Terrific location on the marina with snow capped mountains around Easy access to trains, boats and a solitary bus 😄 Spiez is a cute little town away from the hustle of interlaken but with very good connectivity

if one could call it that, the walk upto train station is steep but doable there is a bus every hour, so with a bit of planning it’s manageable

The location is excellent, and the meals were good. Our initial greeting on arrival was disappointing, but after that, the staff were lovely. ( Including the person who had been on the desk when we arrived !!) The breakfast and dining room personnel could not have been friendlier, the lady who cleaned our room was polite and did a good job each morning,

Nothing really. Maybe a lighter weight doona, I found the bedding too warm, even with the windows open.

I was very positively surprised. The staff is amazing. I rarely experience such hospitality, positivity and helpfulness. Big big thanks to the team! The single room was also surprisingly big and comfortable. There is an additional sofa for sitting and coffee table as well as desk and bed of course. The balcony is also nice and big, with view to both lake and the castle. The only con was too soft bed along with not a great pillow, but it may be quite good for people who do not like to sleep on hard mattreces. Location is also great, right at the castle, lake and port. I can only recommend!

Too soft bed and pillow that is slightly too much used already.
