We pre-arranged to arrive after midnight. The hotel is opposite the rail station and access via keypad easy and secure. They had upgraded us to a quiet (garden facing) room which was very comfortable and much appreciated as were very tired after a delayed flight to Zurich and late arrival by train in Winterthur. In the morning we enjoyed a really excellent breakfast after which we were able to do a quick tour of the old town before collecting our bags and getting back on the train to our next destination.

We could not fault this excellent city centre hotel

This hotel is really just outside Winterthur train station, literally a few minutes walk from the train bringing us there. For us the location was perfect to see a bit of central Winterthur and then on the next day have a wide choice of trains which bring you as fast to Zürich airport as a train or S-Bahn from Zürich central station – less than 20 minutes ride. The room was nice and cheerful, looking out towards the train station so one had the sound of that when one opened the windows, but for us this was no issue. If you are more sensitive there are rooms overlooking a green shared courtyard. The staff were very friendly and helpful. With more time we might have borrowed some of the multiple pairs of e-bikes they had. Leaving our luggage after checkout until we took the train was no trouble at all. For Swiss standards the price was very reasonable, especially since it included a decent buffet breakfast. We will definitely consider this option again for flights from Zürich airport.

As a minor criticism we would have liked a bit more pressure from the shower and it was hard not to set part of the bathroom under water while showering (gap between panel and bathtub).

wonderful location, friendly and helpful staff, great breakfast. outstanding book of helpful hints and extra benefits, from stamps at the front desk to umbrellas, bikes, pretty much anything you need.

there had been a change made in our reservation by a staff member weeks before we arrived. A triple room became a double and no triple was actually available when we arrived. Fortunately I had paperwork with the original reservation. Staff was extremely helpful and offered an extra single room for the first night at no charge. UNfortunately, we managed to mislay the key card and, since it was after hours for the front desk, we ended up with one of us sleeping on the floor. But the hotel HAD tried to make up for their mistake.

This hotel is in an excellent position next to the railway station, with good soundproofed windows. The reception staff are friendly and helpful. We have stayed here before, but this time we were given a large family room for the two of us. Not sure why! There are plenty of choices at the breakfast buffet and the breakfast room was quiet despite there being quite a few other guests in it.

All the pillows are soft. I would prefer a firmer pillow.

Super convenient to the train station. Very easy check-in (even though we arrived after reception hours) and check-out. The breakfast was also very good and very convenient for us to grab before catching an early train.

The shower had really high maximum water pressure, which was nice, but it made the showerhead a little difficult to control and water pooled on the floor in the time it took for me to figure out how to turn it down

A good standard hotel conveniently situated by the railway station and city centre. Good buffet breakfast available from 0630.

My room was situated on the front. No problem with noise from the railway station because that was masked by the double-glazed windows. However, on both nights of my stay, a group of people congregated in the street outside the hotel and had a loud conversation until 03.00, making for a very disturbed night.

Excellent location. There is a Spar right next door. There’s also a steakhouse downstairs but be warned, it closes 2-6pm so we never got to try it out. We were never bothered by the sounds of trains, in fact we didn’t notice them at all. Breakfast was continental and small, but adequate. The room, while a little dated, was perfectly clean, spacious and had everything we needed. Overall we had a great stay!

Everything was just great! The location is exactly in front of the railway station. There is a COOP (supermarket) store 2 min walk, you can get to city center in 5-7 min. The room was super nice, we have the view of the railway station, when I first arrived, I was a bit concerned, but apparently in Switzerland you don't hear the trains...there was no noise with the window closed. The breakfast was super good! you can make your own orange juice, they have a small terrace as well, where you can serve breakfast. You can park in the parking station from the railway (15 CHF - there is a discount from the hotel). 30 min by car until Zurich aprox 1h to Vaduz in Liechtenstein

the staff when we check-in wasn't very helpful, didn't had the customer support attitude when they had to explain how the parking works

Location: on the quiet side of the town. In front of the train station, but the noise isolation (when the window is closed) is good. Single room: is not so small as you might expect (the bathroom is quite large too). Breakfast: a quite good variety of bread, cheese, fruits, yogurt, etc. (the only thing I missed is some warm food like porridge, since scrambled/boiled eggs was the only option).

After a very busy day, arriving in my room at the Wartmann am Bahnhof was so cosy, homely, orderly and clean that I started to unwind and gently relax. Very well appointed room with everything we can need including a good quality kettle, superb bedding, beautiful bathroom, brilliant internet connection, very close to the station, well insulated walls and windows so no noise problem, excellent breakfast even taking my gluten and dairy allergies into consideration, this hotel has it all. For me, a good measure for a hotel is that I wish I have more nights there and it was certainly the case. So thank you for a very restoring stay before going back home the following day.

I can' find anything wrong with it but perhaps if you stay for more than one day having a fridge in the room would certainly be a plus point.
