This was our third time at the Khaolak Merlin Resort. The hotel has a beautiful setting amidst very green vegetation and at sunset one hears the cicadas in the garden. The beach is perfect for swimming and also walking. As it faces west there are beautiful sunsets. The breakfast was fantastic with abundant choice and it was possible for us to sit outside every morning. Nearby, within short walking distance, are many inexpensive but good restaurants. We asked for early check in, which we got at no extra charge.

Our stay at Merlin hotel was beyond any expectation we could have had. We visited in May 2023 for our honeymoon, and they were kind enough to upgrade us to one of their private pool villas. We were blown away with how incredible this villa was! The rooms were absolutely stunning, and all the small details like fresh flowers in the bathrooms, a beautiful arrangement on the bed and the gorgeous pool with tropical plants all around just made it that much more special. The food was tasty (we were pleasantly surprised with the variety and quality of the buffet breakfast) and the service was impeccable. The beach was also stunning, and the perfect spot to watch the sunset over Khao Lak! We could not be more grateful for Merlin hotel giving us the dream start to our honeymoon, and could not recommend the hotel enough to anyone looking for a place to stay in Khao Lak!

Animals around are great, hopefully animals can live there together with tuorists also in the future, we like to do more to help to preserve nature. People who come this hotel should tolerate insects etc. because they are food for many birds. You cannot toxic them.

Some noise early morning, i assume from maintenance device maybe to erase insects, might come from neighborough hotel, hopefully they do not use toxic chemicals, birds etc move around there also and might eat these. Other hotels near should do same kind of measures to preserve nature.

Nature, Save-the-Earth attitude, Friendly staffs especially at restaurant places (both locations).

I like Khaolak Merlin Resort so much. I rate 10/10. Let say this is just a suggestion. Since you aim to save trees and nature when you built the hotel, the walk way is not straightforward and like labyrinth m. You might add more signs along the walk way for showing directions (e.g. to show room no. or places)

Excellent place to stay. The rooms were fine. The garden wonderful and the waves fun to play in. There were more than enough beds at the seaside and pools but have to say the hotel did not seem that full. We had a great time staying here. The breakfast and the breakfast restaurant are excellent. The garden is really beautiful, the sea and pool water pleasant to walk into. In total it gives you a cozy and luxurious feeling.

The dinner restaurant was actually less cozy then the breakfast restaurant although it had great view on the park which that was beautifully lit up in the evening. The location was somewhat remote from the city center but taxis were easy available. Around the hotel there are some simple restaurants of which Restaurant Bali was the best to our opinion

Love the fact that it’s eco hotel, lots of tree, beach front and very private. The hotel really suit with coming to relax and escape from hectic city life. Also the hotel is located near the pier to Similan island so no need to wake up early and had time to enjoy breakfast at the hotel! Breakfast was good - there was a local southern menu called Mee Phuket (Phuket noodles) which I liked and never had before.

The service was good but could consider to add a connect with clients more for example interact with clients, asking if they need anything, how was their trips and etc.

The hotel is excellent. The room is quite large, spotlessly clean and the room equipment is of very good quality. The breakfast buffet has a very wide variety and very good quality ingredients. The staff is very kind and fortunately they speak English! What is impressive, however, is the nature inside the hotel, which was also the reason for the choice. The variety and quantity is incredible.

One problem was the complexity of the paths, to find how to get from one place to another it takes 1-2 days (the map doesn't help), the beach bar doesn't have music (!) where after a long time on the sunbed it becomes a bit of a boring place and when it rains, in some rooms you can't sit on the balcony because it's raining.

This place is a 10/10 in many ways. It is a relaxed resort that makes you forget where you are and what day or time it is. A number of different pools ensure that you are never feeling crowded. Rooms are stunning with the best bathroom to relax in we have had on our trip. Food is very good - breakfast has a great variety and prices for lunch/ dinner are fair. Cocktail prices are a bit high. Lots of massage places and restaurants in walking distance too. We had to leave earlier than planned due to health issues and the resort was kind enough to refund most of our money.

Nothing to not like, however we felt that it wasn’t the best place for our 2 year old twins. You’re better off coming here as a couple or with older kids as the pools are all quite deep and there are quite a few steps and distances to manage. There is no water in the gym which in these temperatures is quite irresponsible. Even if you charge for water, please consider providing it. The prices on the menu for room service say a different price to what you are being charged when your beers arrive at your door. This should be corrected.

the hammock broke when I was on it my first day and cause me a great deal of pain, so had to extend the stay as I couldn’t travel….. informed reception and they didn’t seem to care

beautiful flowers and plant life throughout the property; nice private beach; small village shops and eateries close by

our room was a bit run down and balcony covered with dead leaves the entire stay; food was average, but affordably priced
