Boutique hotel, well located, nice atmosphere, nice pool, nice breakfast Nice resturant. Very comfortable bed and pillow. Very nice staff. We came early morning with our flight and the room was ready for us. We liked it.

1.they say there is a spa but if you order massage there is no area specifically for that. You just do it at the lobby when the doors are closed. You better do massage outside the hotel. No shuttle as they written in their website.

Great location on the river, so easy access to sites. Great breakfast.

No A/C in public areas. Restaurant had leaky ceiling, so buckets and towels on the floor.

My favourite hotel. Made to feel so special. My number one stay every time in Bangkok.

The balconies are a little different, but still lovely. Asked for something special for a 50th birthday, but nothing materialised.

We loved the location by the river, close to transport, right near Old Bangkok and lots of walking opportunities to explore Bangkok. The staff were always so friendly and very helpful. We had a balcony- so much fun sitting out there watching life go by- day and night!

Around the pool could do with some upgrading, the gym was very limited.

Although a little far from downtown and the malls, it is the perfect location if you are more interested in the historical/cultural sights. We had a river view room and it was stunning at night. The pool and restaurant were super cool and although we only tried the mango sticky rice, it was delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful, giving us advice on when to leave for the airport and calling taxis for us when needed. Very clean room. We knew we wanted to spend a little more on our last few days in Thailand when booking this hotel, but it exceeded our expectations still. Walking distance to a number of great local restaurants.

Download the "Grab" app (basically Uber in Thailand) before going. The hotel is a little far from the train station so you have to get a taxi or tuk-tuk. We had the most luck with the Grab app as you didn't have to negotiate or struggle through a language barrier.

Beautiful hotel and amazing staff

There is not enough closet space in the room for two persons - hardly enough for one person, so the beautiful room quickly becomes quite cluttered

This is now our 4th stay at the Riva Surya, it has maintained a consistent high level of service and cleanliness and is in a great location. Now with the new hop on hop off river boats the location is even more exciting.

The power was shut off for a full day during our stay, we were only informed of this after completing registration and checkin. With the Bangkok heat this basically meant the hotel was off limits and unusable for a day, they did say we could use the pool but with no power expect no filtration so not on.

Although breakfast is till 10:30, when plates are empty at 9:45… there was no refill… sad situation for this kind of luxury hotel and the price of the breakfast! Breakfast personnel was only half as friendly as Lobby personnel or cleaning personnel whom were all super friendly and helpful A little bit of a pity that the swimming pool is cramped between the river, the lobby and the restaurant. Otherwise nice. Although it is a luxury hotel, for Bangkok the price is really too expensive compared to other good hotels!

Location wise (for single and young ppl) is exceptional as it is situated near the famous khao san road. But may opt to go in rambuttri for a much chiller place. The room view is very good if you choose the ones facing the river. Communication between the hotel staff is easy as they can converse in international language very well.

Price can be a bit lower but it's understandable since the location is prime. No in house money changer but there's one nearby, only 1-2 mins walk.

This was our first hotel in Thailand when we just landed so we didn't really know what to expect. The staff was extremely nice, the hotel looks beautiful and has a great smell. The pool looked nice but we didn't get a chance to use it. The room was big and even though we were street facing it was nice that there was a little balcony so we can put clothes out to dry. Bed was comfortable. Wifi worked great.

Although very close to the Khao San road we didn't like the area that much, there were homeless people on the street and even late night party goers who were peeing in the street. This is of course not the hotels' fault but just keep in mind that the Khao San area is not for everyone.
