We stayed at Chankam during our one-week stay in Chiang Mai. It's nicely tucked away in a quiet area of the old city and easy to walk to various temples. The hotel is tastefully decorated to feel like you have stepped back into time. Being a boutique hotel the service felt personable as the hotel owner and her staff were accommodating and made us feel well taken care of. We especially appreciated that we were given the option to have a later breakfast start as we prefer to sleep in after spending our days and evenings exploring all Chiang Mai has to offer.

Initially we noticed a few issues with the room we were first assigned. Fortunately the hotel owner kindly made arrangements the next day to move us to another room. It was a good change as we slept well the rest of our stay!

What a WONDERFUL place to stay! ChanKam is exactly as advertised: . it is small hotel -- 12 rooms, very quiet and peaceful surroundings. The manager, Nuk, was so helpful with directions and reservation assistance and general friendliness. Because it is small, we hardly saw any of the other guests :-) The rooms are good size, beds are comfortable and the bathroom has shower and jacuzzi. The personalized breakfast is cooked and served each morning at the time of your choice. Tours and classes will gladly pickup and return guests to ChanKam - GrabCab is another easy transportation option.

After 5 days -- the limited breakfast choices (eggs, cereal, toast etc) becomes a little boring. But each day, the breakfast was personally served with fresh fruits, delicious coffee and fresh squeezed juice.

The Chankam Boutique Hotel is a 12-room hidden gem of a find in the quiet center of the inner wall old city. The owner (Nok) has a warm and welcoming personality that makes you feel welcomed immediately. The beautiful front reception area that adjoins the living foyer, bar and breakfast area, has elegant interior appointments and special personal touches making this small boutique hotel a rare find that is easy walking distance to most of the major attractions. If you don’t like walking Nok graciously has free bicycles for you to use. The rooms are plush with soft beds, soft pillows and clean luxury linen. The bathroom has hot water with good water pressure. There is a nice flat screen TV in each room. The WIFI is good but has intermittent interruptions that disconnect you and make it a process to reconnect. There are only 12 rooms so they can easily fix this problem by getting rid of the web page logon and go to open Internet access from their router with a basic password which would give the guests steady uninterrupted service. Thr & Thooy where two hats; they first serve you your free breakfast that is included with the daily room rate. You fill out a breakfast request at the front desk with what you want and what time you want for breakfast the night before. The breakfast selection is good and so is the food. Then they take care of all the housekeeping affairs making sure your rooms are cleaned on a daily basis and you are resupplied with all the amenities you require. This hotel is rated as a 4-star hotel but one could argue it could move to 5 stars quite easily, especially if they simplified their WIFI access solution. If you’re coming to Chiang Mai and not sure where you are going to stay, we highly recommend Chankam Boutique Hotel as a great choice. You will have zero disappointments in this very quiet and beautiful neighborhood.

The WiFi connection required reauthentication several times a day.

I thought the breakfast was fine. There is a simple ‘tick’ form to fill out regarding your timings for breakfast preferences with a good selection of options. The location of the hotel, although in the backstreets of the moated old town is great for the airport and although taxi’s are cheap, local bars, restaurants shops etc are walkable and or a short ride. The hotel itself internally is very traditionally designed and decorated inside the ground floor reception lobby corridors and rooms and completely different from the outside The staff that I met were very cheerful and very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble

During my stay. I can’t say that I found anything I didn’t like.

Nice and clean room and the bathroom is handy. The big king size bed is very comfortable, bouncy and has plenty of pillows. The location is central and good. Just walking distance to Wat Prah Sing and the Sunday Night Market. The Manager and the staff are very friendly and accommodating I fell with a rental motorcycle on our 3. Day in Chieng Mai (self cause) and needed medical assistance. Mme Nok drove my partner to the hospital , helped us with the procedure and drove us back to Chankam unconditionally. Whenever we shall travel back to Chiang Mai, we will stay at Chankam again.

Lovely Lanna style room with balcony that overlooked a peaceful garden and residential area. Bed was comfortable and the room was very quiet. We walked all over town from this location as well as used the hotel bikes to go further afield. The staff were lovely and very helpful. We look forward to staying again.

Our rate included 4 coffee pods each day but only received 2. Not a big deal.

Beautiful building in a secluded leafy area. Huge lobby open all the way round decorated with flowers and fabrics. Comfortable room with very good fittings in the bathroom and woodwork.

I can’t think of anything negative. It did need Bolt taxis to get into the town but, at an average of £2 per journey, who cares? Bolt excellent there.

The rooms are Lanna style with comfortable beds and facilities to make tea and coffee. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony and watching the birds. The staff is excellent and will help in any way they can. It was our third visit to the hotel but not our last.

This property has stayed true to its promise as far as care and customer service throughout the years. We’ve stayed here several times and love it even more each time. Nooni, the hotel manager, always made sure to say hello and help us in any way she could. She even noticed it was my husband’s birthday and got a cake and card for him. It was such a delightful thing to find in our room after a day out adventuring. We truly appreciated the sentiment. The rooms are well cleaned and maintained. We did not eat here so can’t speak of the food, but most people who stayed while we were here did have breakfast here. The area is great, with lots of things to do within a short walk or bicycle ride away. We bicycled a lot every time we stayed here and also rented a motorbike to do longer jaunts up the mountain. Don’t hesitate. Book it!

Nothing.

Great boutique hotel, beautifully decorated. Good location in the old city on a quiet road and close to everything. The room was clean with a comfy bed. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Especially Nok, always willing to give us helpful information about where to go and what places to visit.
