The location is really nice and the breakfast is amazing, is a really complete breakfast, they sell good tours and nice rent scoter and cars
The hostel has 4 floors and they don’t have lift so is really hard take the stairs and more if you have big baggage, the bathroom is in the 3er floor so you have to check this thing cause there is no even just Bathrooms just in the 3er floor

Good location, big rooms, and almost great beds (I prefer a mattress to be a bit harder). Very clean, and there are a lot of toilets and showers. Staff is friendly, you can book tours on the reception. There are a lot of seats where you can sit and work with your laptop (even if you have to do some online meetings).
Breakfast is quite poor, but it's usually like this in hostels. Tea/coffee is available all day. The ladies shower is on the third floor, so if you are located on the 2nd or 4th, it's not 100% comfortable, but, honestly, it's not a big inconvenience.

Very clean and comfortable place. Also the people who stayed there were very friendly and mindful of other guests. Rooms are spacious and great AC. This hostel is not a party hostel, but perfect if you look for a little social and very chill. If you’re 28+ and solo traveling this is the place you want to stay over in Chiang Mai.
Staff is nog very welcoming. Especially the girl with the AirPods who is there in the morning/afternoon and the guy who usually took here over where very unhelpful and uninterested. The person with long hair who took care during the evenings and night was super kind. p.s. loved your playlist.

Clean and a nice common area. Good location.
Towel deposit policy. I forgot to claim a towel deposit policy while checking out. The staff didn't remind me. When I came back to receive it, the staff said I had already got it. A better policy for that would be appreciated.

Beds were very comfy, AC reliable (sometimes very cold), they spread out smoky repellants for Mosquitos, makes it comfortable to sit in the outside area. Large bathrooms and cleaned daily. They offered weekly free morning Yoga, which was super nice. Cold water, hot coffee and tea always available. Rooms were also quite large, so it comfortably fits all the people staying in it.
Don‘t expect much of the breakfast that’s included. The staff was chill, but they oftentimes weren‘t of much help. Plus most of them spoke only few words English, so it was simply difficult to ask anything irregular from their daily business. Keep in mind that the place is centrally located at a frequent street, so not the most quiet place.

Overall it was a fantastic experience! The hostel is well-maintained, clean, and has a welcoming atmosphere. The bathroom was impressively clean, which is always a big plus for me. The hostel provides essential amenities like shampoo, body wash, and even towels, so you don’t have to worry about bringing your own. Another great feature is the simple breakfast provided by the hostel, along with unlimited water and coffee, such a nice touch for the guests. It’s clear that the staff has thought of almost everything to make guests feel at home. One of the best things about The Common Hostel is its location. It’s situated right in the heart of Chiang Mai’s Old Town, making it incredibly convenient to explore the city.
Small areas for improvement - While there are enough outlets for battery charging area, but there’s no designated space to place your phone while charging. Additionally, the dorm room could use a few more hanging hooks for towels.

I've stayed at this hostel multiple times, and every visit has been consistently excellent. What really sets this place apart for me are the cleanliness and the incredibly friendly staff. They always make me feel welcome, and it's clear that they take pride in maintaining a high standard. The dorm beds are very comfortable, and I really appreciate the privacy features they offer—it's not something you always get in a shared space, but it's done really well here. Whether it's the cleanliness or the friendly atmosphere, I always know I can expect great service at this hostel, which is why I keep coming back. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and pleasant place to stay!

One of the best hostels! We had a private room with a private bathroom, so I cannot judge the shared space. Clean, big enough for 2 people. Very helpful staff. There is a washing machine in the hostel, so you can do your laundry there if you like. Plenty of space to sit, relax and work if you need to. Motorcycle parking and ATM in front of the hotel. Close to the main markets (the farthest you have to go is 15 minutes) but my favourite one is just 5 minutes from this hostel.
The window faces the shared balcony, so there is no way of opening it or even living with the curtains open.

- In the entrance it was all living (pingpong, music, couch, free cofee/tea 24/7 for guests - All 3 of personell good english, helpfull, good mood - position in the middle of old centre, almost every kind of stuff (cheap / expensive restaurants, monuments, massage) reachable within walking distace - Rooms (separate for 2 people) clean with OK size for Hostel - Breakfast variability and quality very good and available until late morning hours
Bed was worn out (creaking... ;-) ) Mold in the corner like in almoste every bathroom in Thailand. I should start importing some serious siliconum fillament and mold detergents in here !

My overall stay at LOBSUEK Hostel was quite pleasant. The breakfast spread was impressive, offering a variety of choices from classic English breakfast to authentic Thai options like Pad Thai, rice noodles with veggies, stir-fried chicken, and steamed rice with vegetables. The property maintained exceptional cleanliness, with staff diligently tidying up common areas and bathrooms multiple times a day. The bed was comfortable, providing ample space with a peaceful and quiet ambiance. The air conditioning worked perfectly, ensuring a comfortable temperature throughout my stay. An added delight was their 24x7 beverage setup, offering a selection of coffee (espresso, cappuccino, latte), cocoa powder, milk powder, sugar, and a hot water boiler with various tea bags—truly a ‘sone pe suhaga’ experience! Moreover, the hostel featured a cozy bookshelf with a diverse range of books in Chinese, Japanese, and other languages. I was thrilled to stumble upon The Glass Hotel by Emily St. John Mandel in English, which made my stay even more enjoyable. P.S. The phrase "Sone pe Suhaga" is a Hindi idiom that means "icing on the cake" or "a cherry on top." It refers to something that makes an already good situation even better. 😊
Honestly, there was nothing to dislike about my stay at Common Hostel. Everything was well-maintained, from cleanliness to comfort. The facilities were thoughtfully designed, and the atmosphere was welcoming. However, there’s always room for improvement—perhaps adding more local travel tips or activity recommendations in the common area would enhance the experience even further. But overall, my stay was seamless and enjoyable! 😊
