The neighborhood of the hotel is not very good when walking. In addition to the fact that the streets are quite dirty, the degradation of the region is noticeable, which causes a certain feeling of insecurity. This is not to say that we have noticed any threats.

A nice hotel in a very local part of town but a short walk to the main town. Some might not like the area but I thought it's kinda cool even if a bit shabby. They have a private parking with a guard so my motorcycle was safe. The breakfast was good.

The room was small and had a cigarette smell.

VERY clean hotel, the rooms are cleaned on a daily basis. Staff is not really fluent in English or any other language except for Turkish, but they are very attentive and will help you with anything you need. I even asked for a late check out and they were very kind of aloud me to stay a couple of hours after the check out time. They will often offer you tea or coffee, and even cherries! Really nice. If you have the time, visit the little town of Alaçati, you won’t regret it!

The only thing that you may not like about the hotel is actually the neighbourhood, that might look a bit rough, but is safe. Close to the hotel there is a Mosque, and you can hear the call to pray, you will get used to. TV on the room is a little bit small and most of the channels broadcasted in either Turkish or German. I think the only channel in English is Al Jazeera.

This hotel is good value for money. We, a family of four adults, stayed in a large and comfortable room. The staff was quite helpful (specially Toran). The breakfast was delicious and we liked the cozy room and garden. They cleaned our room every day. The hotel is close to the main attractions of the city and the metro and Tram station. Many restaurants and stores are close by. The hotel is also close to the traditional Baazaar and Agra open-air museum.

The internet would disconnect very frequently and it wasn't stable. Also, the speed was not very good. The hairdryer sometimes worked and sometimes didn't. There wasn't an electric kettle in the room, instead, there was a coffee maker which could be used as an electric kettle, but sometimes it would just pour too much hot water (it couldn't be stopped) and the water would spill everywhere. The hotel is a modern building but it is located in the old part of the city, still, it is close to modern parts of the city (5 minutes walking).

Comfortable bed in spacey suite, facilities are very clean, polite and nice staff.

While getting off the metro, two people immediately told us Basmane is not a safe neighbourhood and while it put us off at first, we can see why. However, nobody seems to bother us in the two nights we were there. I’d suggest reading up on the area first before booking. Also, we tried to pay with Revolut in Lira but the card reader would automatically convert into Euro and proceed to charge us with a 4% markup. There was no option to choose what currencies to pay in. Not the hotel’s fault, but just something to be aware of.

Baylan hotel room and amenities were excellent. The room was clean, and all rooms were close to each other, as requested. We also made a room change just before we got there, and all requests were handled in a proper and timely manner. There was no confusion when we arrived. Breakfast was fabulous, and the staff was very helpful. They helped with dinner orders and even let us use the dining area for our family. Wifi connection was strong and worked well. The bathrooms were clean and well-maintained.

The neighborhood and surroundings of the hotel were not the best. It was okay, but when we walked out for dinner, the area close to the hotel was not the best. We went out to dinner further away and took taxis back, so it worked out okay.

The hotel staff is incredibly accommodating, and the most significant advantage is the availability of a parking lot for guests' vehicles. Situated in Basmane, the hotel enjoys a convenient location near the sea and other attractions. Nonetheless, the area can be busy, and I felt a bit uneasy walking alone at night, especially in the older part behind the hotel. Despite the rooms being on the smaller side, the cleanliness is excellent. Overall, I would still recommend this hotel.

Staff - Very good, didn't speak very much English but we got by. Facilities - adequate. Good shower room, ample fridge. Room had a working kettle. Cleanliness - very good indeed, the hotel staff clearly take this seriously. Comfort - ok. This is a Muslim country so one should expect to hear the call to prayer, but this hotel is right underneath a mosque and the early morning sound may be bothersome to those not used to it. Also some guy next door had chickens, who made a constant noise. Location - superb. Right next to Basmane station, a manageable walk from Konak Square and the sea front. WiFi - worked throughout my stay.

As stated, some of the noise can be bothersome, but one gets used to it quickly.

Well run hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were as described and of the standard you would generally expect. Convenient location for walking from the metro station and good for the old market and the main pier area. Lots of cheap local food places and restaurants within 5 minutes walk.

The pillows were a bit flat and spongy. There wasn't anything to dislike as such. Some of the nearby neighbourhood is a bit dodgy, but you don't have to venture into that part.

We are really surprise the hotel hospitality. The room was sunny, brightness, big and very clean. The location is little bit scary, as its close to place when all emigrants are cumulate, but we didn't have any trouble and I have been there with child. We went to local shops and talk with people without any problems. Just 2 min behind the hotel, is the Police station and we feel even more secure. The Mosque was front of the hotel and we do not have problem when wake up Us at 5am :). Staff duper helpful, smiling and kind (event when they speak little in English). Highly recommend. Great hotel and not price!
