The room was spacious, clean, and the staff were really hospitable. The bedsheets and towels we changed consistently. The hotel offers a mini getaway vibe from the busy city life. There are 3 different restaurants on site, gym, spa, Grocery store, etc.

The room, though lovely and spacious, didn't allow for privacy as it is located right outside the pool. For an extrovert, this may not be an issue but as an introvert it was difficult to sit outside on the veranda without feeling overwhelmed by the masses of people. Some were even bold enough to come and sit at the veranda of our room.

The hotel + "Village" (cafe/bakery, restaurants, and grocery store) were a great oasis. The room and bathroom was very spacious and functional (loved the coffee maker), lovely balcony with a view over Kampala. The bakery was delicious! And the little grocery store had an amazing food & drink selection. Also liked the details (artwork, art books throughout the property). I'd put this hotel over most of the bigger international name ones that are around....

Note that these are all little details... no deal-breakers :) Wifi at the cafe/bakery didn't work (asked for a token & staff couldn't help) - disappointing for working remotely. Also the room safe wasn't actually secured to anything (not bolted to the closet). Also a small detail but it wasn't clear on when the cafe buffet breakfast was going on, I skipped the one day and had to have a la carte the other days.

- Magnificent setting. The rooms are very comfortable and tastefully furnished and decorated. The small pool and garden (a haven for birds of all kinds!) are very pleasant, beautiful and relaxing. - The breakfast is copious and delicious. On Saturdays and Sundays, the buffet offers an even wider choice than the weekday menu. - The spa services are great, both the massages and the scrubs. Barbara and Mackenzie are wonderful masseuses. - The cosmetics available in the bathrooms and those used in the spa are of good quality, quite natural and they smell lovely. - With the exception of the staff on duty at the front desk on the night we arrived, all the hotel and restaurant staff were very polite, friendly and helpful. - As for the restaurant "Le Château", it is divine: both the dishes we ate there and the setting and service.

- The internet connection fluctuates, in "La Pâtisserie" (where breakfast is served), by the swimming pool and in the rooms. - There are no bars to hang wet towels in the bathroom. - Although we had requested an upstairs room via Booking, we were allocated a ground floor room the night we arrived.

Shiella at reception is the best. I wonder if she’s the reception manager? Jesse too. I know that overall this must be one of the best hotels in Kampala. The service in the restaurant was amazing. Every morning we got a smile and warm welcome from Mathew and if he wasn’t there, Marvin was also very pleasant. They are so gifted and love what they do. The house keeping team was very good too. Bed linen is changed every day including the swimming pool pool covers. Waking up to the singing birds always put a smile on my face. Absolutely Priceles! This place is remarkable! If you love modern, plus a bit of vintage thatch roofing, this is the place to be.

I didn’t like the fact that room had no bath and that no door at the bathroom. Kids kept walking during my shower time. Stone wall divide?? Tv could be on the wall and a bit bigger screen. Otherwise a very pleasant stay overall.

I had to abruptly stay in kampala and had initially booked a double room (suite). On short notice, the gracious and kind staff (Sheila & co.) were able to accommodate my request (last minute shot into the stars) to have a twin room instead so as to house my mom who happened to be traveling late from the countryside, and they came through. In my experience, such locations almost always offer excellent customer service, but Sheila & co. (Reception & room service) really bent over backwards on this one and were very nice throughout the process. Thank you, mwebaale, merci 🙏🏾 . Already planning my next stay here with family as they are very family friendly.

On first arrival, the receptionist was very welcoming, and the reception area was nicely scented with great , modern decor. The room was very spacious, modern and clean. My partner loved the attention to detail with the flowers decorated around the room and bathroom. All the staff were very friendly, attentive and professional- the best customer service received having travelled five countries in East Africa. My partner said the gym was "fantastic " - modern equipment, air con, and always very quiet. The food was fantastic. It was great being able yo hangout by the pool and order service. Would definitely return to this hotel, highly recommend.

The WiFi was the most unstable I've experienced having travelled across five East African countries, but we'd bought a mobile router and so were able to use that as back up. There's no safe (surprisingly!) The laundry service staple staplers to your clothes without removing once returned. Never experienced that before.

This hotel is an oasis in the true sense of the word. You'll look forward to getting back when you've been out and it will leave you so well fed and rested that you'll be ready to take on Kampala again the next day. The receptionists are exceptional, and Shillah even more so. They define the term concierge and never once failed us and our multitude of queries on local culture, dos and don'ts, and must see places. The staff at La Pâtisserie are fantastic and always add to the ever pleasant dining experience. The rooms are incredible. They are modern, clean, and spacious. Moreover, they are wrapped in tranquil, manicured gardens. I spent my birthday here and the pleasant little surprises from the hotel didn't seem to stop. I felt special in a very special place.

I loved everything.

new rooms are lovely with balcony. Very few mosquitoes. Brian Jjuuko was very helpful. many options to eat at Le Petit Village. Christoper at the more casual restaurant was excellent. Need to try the Japanese restaurant next time. Very friendly housekeeping.

The same glass of rose wine costs 40% more at Belgian restaurant than at the restaurant across…..Service at the more casual restaurant is just as good so I am a bit confused about the prices.

The staff could not be better - kind, efficient, attentive and helpful - remember to tip them! The new buildings are simply gorgeous and the new rooms are very comfortable and lovely. Food is good as always - with the morning pastries and the cookies being my personal favorites. Yes, the price has gone up, but so has it everywhere for everything - and it is well worth it (...and in case you were concerned about being on an upper floor (the new buildings are three floors, there IS an elevator)!

The salad dressing - but I asked for olive oil instead, added a little salt and everything was yummy.

I liked the variety of restaurants as well as the convenience of having a grocery store and other stores in the compound. I like how private the room was, and it was very spacious with a great view. The staff was super friendly and helpful, and made me feel very welcomed

The hotel seems to be next to a club/ lounge. So the music in the evening was quite loud, which disrupted my sleep a bit
