We did not like that they try to be a "beach club" We want an arabic vibe with arabic lounge music Same goes for the roof top bar. Why no arabic lounge music. This is why we come to Dubai We want more arabic food, we don't want a Greek restaurant. The spa is amazing but slightly overpriced.

This place is amazing, quiet and perfect if are looking for the calm from desert avoiding shopping and noise of city. You can see a sunset everyday and relax. The breakfast is superb with a good variety of fruits and food. I use a SPA that was wonderful experience.

My suggestion is humanize a little more. For example: in Six Senses or Aman Hotels, your receive a welcome and goodbye gifts and rituals from a manager of hotel and staff. Music in swimming pool could be local or traditional not american or pop. In evening turn maybe we could receive a traditional sweet or similar, that reminds the origin from Desert.

Outstanding hotel, from the moment you arrive you are greeted grandly. The facilities speak for themselves, armonious arquitecture, top quality atmosphere. Everyone is very helpfull, friendly and great at their job. the Al Hadheerah experience is magical, with great feast and talented shows.

A bit more information on the Al Hadheerah show would be nice (some of my party left before the main show started whithout knowing) also a way to get a placement on the position of the table since we reserved months in advance and got a table that wasnt as close to the show as we would have wanted. Still we loved the experience.

Beautiful architecture and interior design, we had great food and service throughout our stay, the spa was lovely and the gym well equipped also. Breakfast was nice and plentiful and the Al hadheera experience surpassed expectations with entertainment and an amazing buffet spread

Sometimes the pool music would get loud and V upbeat and clash wit the other two pool's music, we also felt that all three pools were quite close together so the adult pool would still have kids fairly closeby. Would be nice if the hotel offered beach style bags to borrow. I also didn't love the hotel pillows

Spacious room! Bed is comfortable however the pillow is too soft of my liking. They have the pillow menu and you can choose the hardness from the menu instead. Swimming pool is heated water. Package include dinner and breakfast buffet. For the buffet, food is normal. The hotel provide free activités during sunset such as falcon photo taking/show and also camel ride.they have a desert just outside the hotel where you can explore around during sunset time and at night to catch some stars :) Overall good relaxing stay in the resort ! It is about an hour ride from Dubai city and hence you will need to arrange a private transport to reach.

Hotel did not respond to enquiry on private transport arrangement beforehand despite checking few times Not so personalised service. There was another group of Asian tour that stayed the same night as us Whichever place we go to in the hotel ( be it check in / check out receptionist , restaurant), the staff will keep checking with us if we are in the same Asian group. The repeated checking from different people in different place of the hotel can get very annoying. As I would expect that these small attention should be taken care considering it’s a luxury resort. At the same time, to some extend I felt there was a bit of généralisation from the hotel itself

Hotel décor was breathtakingly beautiful and luxurious. The whole hotel had a luxurious oud smell which was kind of addictive. The rooms were big and spacious; really loved the bathroom. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. The food was also to die for. We also really enjoyed the Arabian night. We will definitely come back.

Not really a minus point for the property but the location is far from amenities; please do come prepared. We had forgotten some essentials for our baby and it was too much of a hassle to get a taxi to go to a supermarket. Thankfully we managed during our stay but wish we had been more prepared.

I usually pass though Dubai while on my way to different destinations. This time I decided to stay in Dubai for a few days. I didn’t want to see the modern city, so I opted for Bab Al Shams Desert Resort for a more traditional experience. I was not disappointed and my stay from beginning to the end was magical, surpassing all expectations. The architecture of the Bab Al Shams is very traditional with careful attention paid to detail; transporting me to a mystical world. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, clean and in keeping with the traditional theme; albeit with all the modern conveniences. The restaurants offer a varied selection of delicious Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine. The pool is sublime, beautifully set looking out onto the desert. A number of experiences were on offer, most of which I indulged in. These included camel and horse riding, the spa and the traditional outdoor restaurant Al Hadheerah; a feast of Middle Eastern cuisine with diners watching the magnificent show under the moonlit sky. The highlight of my stay however was the warm hospitality and kind attention of all members of staff at Bab Al Shams . I shall definitely return.

Everything in this place is magical. Service is out of this world. Staff is so helpful. Food is amazing. It is a luxurious oasis out of a storybook. There is a real “Arabian vibe” and you feel like you have been transported to another world. Free camel ride and falcon holding at sunset just complete the experience. It is all about the details: refreshing dates welcome drink, mini cooler by the pool to water cold, the beach bag available in the room, the buggy ride to go to the restaurant…. With the full board package, you can dine at Al Adeerah, the middle-eastern restaurant part of the complex. It offers entertainment and amazing local food. Even with the crazy heat, we could have stayed a couple more days. Perfect place for our 10th anniversary! Thank you so much Bal Al Shams!

Staff were all excellent, welcoming and always helpful. You have managed to keep the charm of the resort whilst upgrading it - gorgeous new colors and placements. Well done. From the moment you walk in to the end it is stunning and refreshing. We were upgraded and asked for a quiet room and it was perfect. Check in and check out were seamless, bravo. New restaurant area - stunning!

Room service was unfortunately not up to standard. Plastic water bottles. A shame that during the renovations you did not put different colors for the steps in the pool - it is known that we dont realize that there are steps in the pool and one cannot really see them. Everyone including us kept falling on them.

A wonderful desert location far away from the crazy city center. A perfect spot to relax by the pool and enjoy the wonderful hospitality. The Hathera restaurant is a favorite of ours, live cooking, huge open space and an amazing middle eastern buffet setting combined with middle eastern music and dancers.

Dubai overall and this hotel as well has become very expensive and over priced. If your staying and plan to go to the city you might want to think about renting a car with GPS.
