The hotel is in such an amazing picturesque area, the staff are brilliant special shout out to Michelle with the short blonde hair in the restaurant who made one of our evenings very special! During our whole stay we felt at ease and left feeling very relaxed! This is our 3rd time visiting and we will certainly be back again!

At one point we did hear a colleague and or manager having ago at a staff member up the stairs in the restaurant and we did not find this very professional and we did see said waitress looking very upset and distressed after this… This would be my only concern was we thought it was highly inappropriate to do that in that setting with other guests around.

Restrictive access to indoor swimming pool/spa area. We had a wedding first day and time parameters were too short in the morning to enjoy the indoor facilities. No hotel guest deals/package add ons to use outdoor spa facilities without paying for a whole spa day package, we just ate breakfast why would we need food again to use the spa facilties for a couple hours. Was happy to pay an additional fee but £90 each is too much.

The staff, in particular Emma at reception the evening we arrived, the gentleman at the bar with the glasses (afraid I didn't catch his name) and the red-haired lady at breakfast (also didn't catch her name) were all exceptionally friendly, polite and helpful. I expect good service from any hotel I stay at, but these three still went above and beyond my expectations to provide an excellent experience. The room was spacious and well-proportioned and everything seemed clean. The leisure facilities were also very clean and high quality.

As comfortable as the bed was, it may have benefited from being more stable. As we were given the accessible room, it may be that the bed is required to be easily movable. However, we found that the bed kept sliding away from the headboard. To be fair, we could have asked if there was anything that could be done but we chose not to, so this is more of a personal preference and was not a major issue.

This is a hidden gem. The hotel, restaurant and spa are stunning. Staff extremely attentive and friendly, nothing is too much trouble . Quiet location even though it’s on a road, extremely comfortable bed . Breakfast was extra but worth every penny, freshly cooked to order , amazing local ingredients. Can’t wait to return. Great base for visiting the Potteries , Trentham gardens and nation trust properties …

lovely staff, great place , looks posh from outside. pool looked nice . Great meal Bar staff very attentive and breakfast great and staff very nice.

The noise from the heating was awful. quite a small room really. someone above us was heavy footed !! Emailed twice to reserve a meal but no one got back to me , phoned no one answered just leave a message. lucky I was able to get an evening meal during my stay .

The room was great as usual, great beds, very clean, good location on the edge of the town, pool is a great bonus albeit the times are limited but worked for us.

The breakfast wasn't great, everything very dry and black pudding very under cooked. The pool changing rooms are lovely but extremely cold, the steam room also was cold with almost no steam, this was at 8:30 on Sunday morning so it may just have been turned on but if this is the case it need to be on much earlier so it can be used when the facilities open.

The staff were great. Very helpful and smiling all the time. Comfortable atmosphere in the hotel. Pool was nice and gym was clean and had useful. I travel for work regularly so i will return here if the rate is good enough.

Rate was expensive for room type. Breaskfast had to be added on arrival and was 15 per person. My room didnt have air con only a radiator that had to be turned off becauss it was too warm. I was happy with my stay overall and will return.

Restricted times for children in the pool. We would have really liked a swim on our arrival evening but didn’t realise children weren’t allowed :-( we did take advantage of a before 9am swim the next morning though, when they were.

Good location off the M6. Comfortable beds. Very clean room and bathroom. Helpful staff. Stayed here a number of times and never been disappointed. Did not have breakfast as we had an early start. Wifi internet connection very good - could stream from Netflix and make video calls etc. Plenty of free parking.

Restricted height due to being in the eaves on the top floor. Building work ongoing to the rear of the property which might be a problem if allocated a room at the back and you wanted a lie-in - not a problem for us.

Beautiful ambience throughout. So calm and relaxing. Staff were really friendly in all areas. Spa facilities were fantastic. Tried gym on final morning and enjoyed that too. Breakfast had excellent options and restaurant choices were great and food was wonderful. And the afternoon tea booked as part of the spa day was spectacular. Spa treatments were really relaxing and we loved the meditation in The Salt She'd too.

Shower in wet room in room 105 was difficult to drain. Instruction was to keep tap on full but that affected temperature suitability. Staff advised that for future bookings, as all we wanted was a separate shower, not specifically a wet room, we could book a cosy double which has a standard shower cubicle.
