The staff were exceptionally friendly and efficient. Nice, friendly and funny man behind the bar on our arrival while we waited for our check in time. Didn't get his name but he was very welcoming and made us laugh. The Norfolk hotel we found was expensive for the rooms we got. We have paid a less for rooms which are more up to date, more nicely furnished etc. Breakfast was a separate charge, as was parking. I appreciate that Arundel is expensive for accommodation, we just felt that the rooms could have been more nicely furnished. The bathroom needed some TLC for example. Having said that we loved our stay there. Breakfast for £12.50 per person was good. Plenty of choice on the menu and on the continental buffet too. Drinks were fairly priced in the Tap Bar and the Hotel is very central to all of Arundel's attractions and we totally abandoned the car during our stay.
A little bit more luxury for the room price.

A charming hotel in a charming little English town. Only one hour away by direct train to Gatwick Airport, the hotel is the perfect place to spend a night before an international flight. The staff is friendly and the food in the restaurant as well as the breakfast buffet was exceptional. I was introduced to rhubarb and ginger gin as the attached pub, Less than 5 pound for the short taxi ride from the train station. There is so much to see in the town as well as the hotel. A great value; why spend the same amount or more at a generic airport hotel? On my town walkabout I had the chance to visit St. Nicholas Church and have a delightful chat with the vicar's wife. This has to be one of the most pleasant one-night hotel experiences in my life. Almost forgot to mention: sticky toffee pudding for dessert in the Castle Dining Room.
I loved the small comfy room -- number 27 -- on the third floor [remember, Europeans start counting floors on the second floor] with its quaint blue and white tile bathroom. Sure, the ceilings are low, but that is not an issue. Three stairs is a bit much for me with luggage, but I knew there was no lift when I booked the room. I will select one of the larger rooms on a lower floor next time [and there will definitely be a next time].

Room was totally adequate and comfortable. Breakfast - The Manager that approached us at the doorway entrance, started by saying 'You can sit anywhere', no Good morning, hello etc. We felt really rushed by him, and he did not come across as 'friendly. He was also the same in the bar the previous night (which was a shambles). Last orders were called at 10.30pm, then the lovely new lady, came and told us that the Manager was taking over until 12 midnight. However the bar then closed around 11pm. The breakfast was fabulous, despite feeling rushed. All of the other Reception staff, the new lady, and the Night leader, were polite and respectful and great ambassadors for your Hotel, Kind regards
As above

Great location in the middle of Arundel high st. Easy car parking behind even for a large car, £6 for 24hrs (1pm-1pm). Nice hotel restaurant, white linen table cloths etc and a restaurant menu or their pub bar menu both served in there.
Only minor as the staff and service were very good, but they did appear to be unnecessarily overly prescriptive on their admin ‘rules’’. Having to pre book a time for breakfast was irritating, especially as when we arrived at that time to find a queue and it otherwise empty, so suggest you try not booking a round time like 8am or just ignore. Dinner was similarly pointless in some respects, they said they were open to 8.30 for tables but when we then asked to book it turned out it was actually 8.15 that was the latest, not a problem they could just have said 8.15 in the first place but they then didn’t take our order until 8.45 anyway and didn’t have a closing time.

The facilities were very good - netflix on the telly, telephone wake up service if requested, tea/coffee and hot chocolate products, and soap products in the bathroom. Location wise couldnt have been any more perfect. I came to Arundel specifically for its Castle, and was not expecting the Norfolk Arms to shadow its grounds! The surrounding shops are within a 5 minute walk, and are so picturesque, its like a real life diagon-alley!
When I booked, I was informed that the road facing my room can be quite noisy, yet on arrival, I got a room facing the back of the property that was still quite noisy. The lack of double glazing windows are the issue, not the location! On top of this, the building shows its age with the noisy pipes and wafer thin floorboards - it made it difficult for me to get to sleep.

We stayed at Norfolk Arms for a couple of nights and it was lovely and quiet. The hotel is right next to the castle and there are a lot of restaurants and cafés around. The hotel has its own restaurant, a bar and a pub but we chose to explore what Arundel has to offer. The room was warm and clean and it had a really comfortable bathtub, although there was no shower (this was known when we booked). The hotel has private parking for clients, and you have to pay per night. The staff were very kind and helpful. Overall we had a lovely stay, we would definitely visit again.

The room (108) was comfortable, quiet at night, excellent bed, good shower/bath. Arundel is a small town and the hotel is right in the centre. The Castle is two minutes away, if you walk via the car park. The car park was almost full, but we got a spot. £6. We tried the Tap Room, which offered some interesting craft beers, but it wasn't very comfortable/atmospheric. WWT Arundel (wetlands park) is a nice visit, as well.
The central heating started banging from 5:30-6:30 am, air-lock suspected. The upstairs neighbour was a bit heavy on their feet early in the am, but I was already awake. Next time, we'll get a room upstairs, if not in the hotel proper. The breakfast was not good. (£12.50/ea.) Eggs on the menu was an egg. The large mushroom was well over-grilled, as was the tomato and bacon. The sausage was nice. Next time, we'll find a local cafe.

Location, is a place with history and character. The staff are very friendly. Definitely we felt very welcome! They explained everything very well. Everything in the room worked very well. The room and bathroom were spotless. The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet despite being on the ground floor.
Perhaps having to pay for the carpark. It was quite tight but considering the age of what it was a coach house and its location, this very understandable. I recommend reading the instructions about the parking rule which are very clear, no tricks, it's what it is.

Authentic 250 year old coach house that has been nicely updated. Walking distance from most of historical Arundel and popular with locals for socializing over a pint. Breakfast would alarm my cardiologist but will eliminate any need for lunch. Rooms are tastefully decorated and mine had an interesting little library of English authors. Creaky floorboards but an authentic English experience for an American visitor.
As a 250 year old building, there is no elevator. Heavy luggage is a potential challenge.

The room was lovely (books were a nice touch), location perfect, staff very friendly. Had a gorgeous vegetarian roast in by the fire in the bar. Got extra provisions on request and stored my luggage the next day.
I found the confirmation email unnecessarily aggressive as regards parking times and such. It was a bit of a negative first point of contact. Didn't park there as I thought that was too expensive. Breakfast wasn't included, which was a shame. The wine in the bar was nice but over priced.
