Quiet country location with an excellent host. Breakfasts were hearty and tasty. Bed was comfortable (albeit it a bit low to access/exit), inclusion of hair-drier and shoe-shine plus iron and board. The toiletries were of good quality.
The floor between bedroom and bathroom had 2 steps which were difficult to see at night (a simple strip of white tape would help), the breakfast could have had a fruit salad option and pastries for price point. Appreciating the building is old it did have issues over sound transmitting between back to back bathrooms and the water took a long time to run hot after being turned on.

The house and location were lovely and secluded, the room was great and comfortable with a fridge and tea/coffee making facilities. The bathroom was really nice and everything was very clean. Wonderful host and breakfast in the morning and we even had a recommendation for a good walk around the town which we enjoyed a lot. Would recommend
The only drawback was a fairly loud boiler/hot water system which woke us up pretty early when other guests or residents were showering. But otherwise nothing to fault.

On arrival at Hanger Down B&B we were welcomed by Alison and made to feel at home immediately. The rooms were spotless and larger than expected with comfy beds, a fridge and tea/coffee making facilities. The cooked breakfast was excellent with fruit, yoghurts and fruit juice on offer too. Alison was very friendly and accommodating. Hanger Down Housewell is situated just outside Arundel Town centre. We would have no hesitation at all in recommending this B&B.

The property was spacious, decorated nicely and all the fittings were good quality. Good communication from Alison, who was very welcoming when we met. Alison also cooks a great breakfast.
The only negative for us was that we didn’t do our homework properly, so didn’t realise that part of the walk into town was on a road with no path. Only 100 or so yards without a path, but as it was dark and cold when we stayed, it put us off walking to the Christmas market in town. Wasn’t a problem as we contacted the local taxi firm (thanks to the helpful card in the room) and they arrived within 5 minutes for a cheap ride into town. Same on the way back. In the lighter evenings the walk would actually be quite nice, so it wouldn’t put us off returning, and it shouldn’t put anyone off booking, but worth knowing. The accommodation itself was excellent all round.

A comfortable annex of a pretty old farmhouse style building has been turned into accommodation. The large room was home from home, big enough for a sofa area to have tea/coffee. The host was welcoming and attentive but with the main accommodation being in another part of the house, the accommodation was still private. The English breakfast was beautifully cooked. The property was a mile from town so was rural but close enough to walk to and from.
It is worth knowing that, to walk into town, the first part of the route has a grass verge and no footpath so decent shoes and, at night, a torch is advisable. This might not be for everyone (we enjoyed a walk after dinner) but a taxi is only £6.

Delicious breakfast; very comfortable rooms; privacy as there is a separate entrance to the B&B with interconnecting door to the main house; proximity to Arundel and very friendly and helpful hostess, Alison. I stupidly left some items in the wardrobe and Alison texted to ask if we were still nearby and, if not, offered to parcel post them to me.
‘Didn’t like’ is putting it too strongly but people should be aware the house is down a narrow lane and parking arrangements are a little crowded. However, the hosts were happy to move their car elsewhere - they are probably quite used to doing so!

This B & B is a real gem. It is set in a lovely peaceful rural area, but just a 5 min drive into Arundel. Alison, the host was lovely and friendly and very welcoming. The room we stayed in was very spacious, with a comfortable king size bed, tv, sofa, fridge, ample wardrobe space and en suite shower room, there was also access to the garden and seating area- everything we needed for a relaxing 2 night break. The breakfast, served in a room overlooking the spacious garden, was superb. The Full English was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented and very tasty. Cereal, fruit and yogurt were also available. There is so much to see and do in Arundel and so many choices for eating out in the evening. We walked along the river to Swanbourne Lake and the WWT centre - a fascinating day out. Our only regret is that we should have booked another night or even two! Arundel and the surrounding area is so lovely that we will definitely be back to visit and a stay at Hanger Down House will be a must.
We couldn't find any fault - it was perfect for us.

Lovely large room, beautiful interior and finishes, with good facilities including a fridge, kettle, torch, ironing board & iron, tea/coffee/biscuits and milk in the fridge Wonderfully warm. Comfortable bed and good light. Alison & Andy are kind, helpful and friendly hosts. Delicious breakfast. Car parking available. Also local Castle Cars taxi service very good & reasonable.
Nothing really. Just beware of the pot holes in the lane as you approach the property.

The room was outstandingly clean, comfortable, large enough for a leather sofa and all mod cons. The bathroom was large, modern, very clean, with walk in large shower. The host was friendly and wanted to make our stay perfect. Breakfast was delicious and made to order. Outstanding location for Chichester and Arundel.

The breakfast was cooked to order and you could choose what you wanted. i asked for some extras to y scrambled egg which wasn't at all a problem. coffee was nice and smooth and i do love my coffee. the bedroom was huge and airy. lots of windows to see different parts of the location. the bed its self was the most comfortable bed i have had when staying away from home.
it isn't that i didn't like, it is more of what was missing. only one choice of milk in the fridge and not a great selection of herbal teas, but that 'a major issue for me.
