This B & B is a real gem. It is set in a lovely peaceful rural area, but just a 5 min drive into Arundel. Alison, the host was lovely and friendly and very welcoming. The room we stayed in was very spacious, with a comfortable king size bed, tv, sofa, fridge, ample wardrobe space and en suite shower room, there was also access to the garden and seating area- everything we needed for a relaxing 2 night break. The breakfast, served in a room overlooking the spacious garden, was superb. The Full English was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented and very tasty. Cereal, fruit and yogurt were also available. There is so much to see and do in Arundel and so many choices for eating out in the evening. We walked along the river to Swanbourne Lake and the WWT centre - a fascinating day out. Our only regret is that we should have booked another night or even two! Arundel and the surrounding area is so lovely that we will definitely be back to visit and a stay at Hanger Down House will be a must.

The breakfast was cooked to order and you could choose what you wanted. i asked for some extras to y scrambled egg which wasn't at all a problem. coffee was nice and smooth and i do love my coffee. the bedroom was huge and airy. lots of windows to see different parts of the location. the bed its self was the most comfortable bed i have had when staying away from home.

it isn't that i didn't like, it is more of what was missing. only one choice of milk in the fridge and not a great selection of herbal teas, but that 'a major issue for me.

I arrived in a rather stressed-out state. My wallet was lost/stolen with my Visa and I had no money at all. Not a single penny! I was welcomed with a sandwich for lunch and a pizza in the evening, as of course I could buy no food until money was sent to me. I sat in the garden in the afternoon and well into the evening and just unwound and listened to the birdsong. I could not have found a better place. If I return one day to England I shall stay there again for sure. A very pleasant experience and very much appreciated.

We liked the location for the views of the countryside. Breakfast was excellent and nothing was too much trouble for Alison.

Location was to far for us to walk to the centre of Arundel. We made use of Castle Cars Taxis going and returning in the area For a long stretch of the busy road there are no pavements so dangerous to walk. Also we noticed a lot of cobwebs, but we found it amusing to call it Cobwebs Cottage.

Truly as it claimed, a peaceful family run B & B. We loved the peace and quiet and the garden. The breakfast was excellent and the owner was very accomodating. Would be pleased to stay again.

Only one thing was a problem: in our room there were two shallow steps down, which bothered my partner as she couldn't see them very well, even with a light which was provided for us. We got round the problem by putting pieces of paper down to mark where they were.

The room was very large & spacious with views to both the front and the back of the property. The bed was very comfortable & furnished with good quality linens. The furnishings and amenities in the bedroom and bathroom were lovely. The dining room was nicely furnished with large patio doors opening onto the garden. The breakfast was freshly cooked to perfection & generously portioned. The host was very efficient & friendly without being intrusive.

My room was located just off the guests dining room and therefore very noisy first thing as the early risers were breakfasting. I am not from the local area & had difficulty finding the property even with a Sat Nav.

Excellent location for exploring the area.You can walk into Arundel from the property in around/20 minutes or 5 minute drive.Alison is a great host very welcoming and chatty and has plenty of helpful advice on places to visit.Her cooked breakfast is sccellent with fresh good quality ingredients.Quiet location comfy beds great nights sleep.Lovely shelters garden

It was in a lovely rural location but only a 20 minute walk into Arundel town. It was very quiet and peaceful and the garden was lovely to sit and relax and have a drink and some downtime. We had a lovely big room. The bed was very comfortable. Good bathroom with a powerful shower, plenty of hot water and big fluffy towels. It nice to have a fridge in the room with a jug of milk instead of longline sachets.

It was in a quiet location, room was nice and big and well appointed, lovely breakfast room looking out onto large lawned area with good cooked breakfast, fruit and muesli and host very friendly and recommended good pub for dinner.

It was hard to find which house it was and which entrance as sign with house name was very small.

Comfortable room and facilities. Alison and Andy were excellent and welcoming hosts. Breakfast was great and plentiful. Ideal location/base for visiting many West Sussex attractions.

Availability of a summer weight quilt would have been welcome. However, this did not adversely distract from our stay.
