We visited Ballywalter for a romantic getaway and the 'Old Vicarage' met above and beyond our expectations. The house and the rooms is decorated with taste, crisp, Egyptian cotton bedding sheets, impeccably clean, lovely views from windows. Fell in love with the wee garden and the chubby hens! Christa was very attentive and we really appreciated that she treated us tea and sweets when we arrived. She even had prepared for me gluten free breakfast and dessert, asking way ahead. Christa hank you so much for your hospitality, we will be back!
Everything was fabulous, nothing negative

This was a fabulously peaceful stay with a wonderful host. It was the perfect respite for us while touring Northern Ireland. Strongly recommend the Stratford ferry route and I believe this property will go from strength to strength. Interesting bee keeping and gardens on site and nice couple running it. I'll check back here in a year or two but breakfast was fabulous , guidance and reception were exceptional and it was the perfect rest for us after a few days touring. Thank you 😊

Beautiful building, garden and location. Warm welcome, lovely room with views of trees and beach (just). Comfy bed, quiet and peaceful. Breakfast choice great for healthy, local and vegetarian breakfast. No overpowering scented air fresheners.
The basin in the shower cubicle was very small, but understand why it couldn't be bigger.

The location, the hospitality, the decor, the sea, the weather, the small touches that made us feel so welcome, everything was perfect from start to finish. Even though we both had dietary restrictions (including vegan), the host couldn’t have been more accommodating to ensure we had everything. Beautiful home which felt like such a treat to be able to stay in. Thank you so much Christa!

Absolutely fabulous place, stunning views from the dining room. Marisa the host went up and beyond what we expected. tucked into a fabulous breakfast both mornings, poached eggs with avocado on seeded bread the first day and a traditional full English the second. Stunning property.

Beautiful house which has been very tastefully decorated in keeping with the period. Welcoming, friendly and helpful hostess who provided excellent breakfasts with fresh eggs from own hens! Good location for exploring Strangford Lough/Ards peninsula. Lovely bedroom, The Garden Room, with an extremely comfortable king size bed. It was also very pleasant to have the use of a guest sitting room.
Bathroom in the Garden Room was a bit tight for space with a very small washbasin!

Charming, beautifully restored building which wraps you in comfort. Wonderful, kind and attentive host and so many little touches. Luxurious indeed. Worth every penny. Good location to walk into the village, and on to the beach. Great for visits to Mount Stewart, Greyabbey, Castle Ward, etc
Faultless.

Delightful host for this traditional B&B right across from the beach. Comfortable quiet room with large windows and warm. The best breakfast we had in N ireland with eggs from their own hens and lots of choice. Porridge was a change here.
Bathroom is not large if that bothers you. Fridge was minute but our food was happily taken away to be stored.

Big ticks all around: Christa's warm welcome, the spacious room with a comfortable large bed, the view of the beach and harbour through the large windows, the room's seating area for lounging, the varied and delicious breakfast options, and how quiet it was at night. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again if our travels take us that way.
The dining options in Ballywalter are limited. But there are more options in Donaghadee which isn't too far up the coast.

We arrived a bit later for check in and that was no problem for Christa and Damian . We were offered lovely tea and baked treats upon arrival. Lots of breakfast options available, it was delicious and freshly prepared . Our room was spotlessly clean and bed was extremely comfortable.
Everything was perfect.
