Lovely old manor house with original features & character. Ideal location for the Ham Wall bird sanctuary. Plenty of parking space. Very friendly welcome from Graham, easy check in. Super balcony (shame about the weather!), comfortable bed and spacious bathroom. Excellent breakfast in a relaxed and unhurried setting - the choice was fabulous, and all was freshly cooked.

There is a real lack of power points - an extension lead would help as we wanted to charge up phones and tablets but only had sockets for bedside lamps and the kettle. The hairdryer didn't work well - intermittent at best. The shower was the biggest problem - it took ages for the hot water to come through and the flow was rather weak.

The room was lovely, very comfortable and clean. We both agreed that the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and clean. Graham met us on arrival, which was quite late in the evening, with a smile and he made us feel very welcome. The breakfast was included in the price and there was a comprehensive menu which was cooked to order. We chose smoked haddock with poached eggs and it was delicious!

The only thing to be aware of is that the propery is located in a quiet village but we had eaten before we arrived and Graham offered us drinks in the lounge if we wanted them. Other than that I can think of nothing negitive to say.

Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. Room was a lovely size, the bed was very comfortable and everything was perfectly clean. Breakfast was stunning, particularly the smoked haddock with poached eggs. Lovely views from the rear of the proper as Meare is situated right in the beautiful Somerset countryside, with several nice walks in the area. It is also very close to Glastonbury, Wells and other towns.

Rooms were a touch dated, though very clean and comfortable, and the shower in our room at least didn't have great water pressure, though the bathroom itself was spotless.

We stayed here for only 1 night during our travels thru England and it was very nice. Graham was very friendly and welcoming when we arrived and he showed us to our room in the Arthur Wing of this beautiful, old manor house. Our room was a bit dated in appearance but was spacious and comfortable. The bed and linens were very nice. The ensuite bathroom was bright and roomy but the shower was a bit tricky to operate with regards to regulating the water temperature and I burned my hand slightly. The breakfast served here was outstanding. It is made to order and features a varied selection of continental and cooked options, which were all delicious and plentiful. The location worked great for us to explore Glastonbury and Wells and we could see how this B&B would make a good central base from which you could do daytrips. The ease of car parking was an added bonus for us. We would recommend staying here.

A couple of minor grumbles include the less than ideal lighting in the bathroom and the thin walls in which we could hear the adjacent occupants talking.

I’d stayed some years before and had some recollection of the building. I needed a twin room but none were available and I opted for what, in effect, was a family room with a four poster bed and two singles. I didn’t mind paying for that for a little bit of extra comfort. I don’t want to raise unreasonable expectations and so should say that the building is old and has real character but is a little “tired “. We, however, found the beds comfortable, the hotel quiet and got a good nights rest. The TV and Wi-Fi both worked fine and there were three armchairs in the room. I mainly drink tea and we didn’t have many teabags in the room but when I asked for some, I was also offered fresh milk in a container, which made the tea so much better. One of the really good things about the stay was the breakfast. I don’t eat much meat and so didn’t have a traditional English breakfast but was able to get porridge together with smoked Haddock and egg. It was really good but when I commented on how good the marmalade with the toast was, the owner told me that it was home-made. Things like that can make a difference. My partner had a full English breakfast and she really enjoyed it. There were no problems parking.

Just don’t expect modern luxury. The building is old and appeals to me but may not appeal to everyone. I have a hip problem but found the stairs manageable.

The owner met us with a very warm welcome - even though we'd arranged a late check-in. The room was clean and comfortable - especially for the price. They seem to be very dog-friendly, too. However, the highlight for us was the breakfast (which was included in the room rate). It was astonishing! A range of choices, catering for vegetarians too, and high-quality ingredients. It was delicious. We've stayed in many places in Glastonbury, but we'll come back to this one (3 miles outside the main town) for that breakfast!

The beds were extremely comfortable and we liked having two decent chairs in the room. The breakfast was exceptional with only the best ingredients used and perfectly cooked. Choice of menu really good and we could customise if we had wanted. Service brilliant. The proprietors were extremely welcoming and efficient. The location was perfect for our visit to nearby Ham Wall.

Only slight disappointment was that we hadn't realised that it wasn't set in it's own grounds as we had imagined but the parking was separated from the road by a good thick high hedge so it negated this a little.

Warm cosy room well provided with necessities. Great hospitality from Sue and Graham Chapman, nice chats and information given about where to go/park, exquisite freshly homemade breakfasts ( we did try different options every day, all well served and delicious, from cooked meals to homemade jams) Well situated to travel to touristic places like Cheddar Gorges, Wells, Glastonbury and more with Rspb marshes at 2 mins only. Car park on premises.

Nothing comes to mind

We loved absolutely EVERYTHING! Sue and Graham are amazing hosts. Their property is so peaceful and so relaxing. Sue and Graham's hospitality is above and beyond. The breakfast is phenomenal and once again, both Sue and Graham go above and beyond to make sure every guest has exactly what they want and need. Parking was easy and available. The outdoor garden was a great place to socialize and relax. The rooms are spectacular and we definitely want to come back and stay.

We loved absolutely everything!

We were made very welcome. The room was very comfortable with our own balcony/terrace adjoining which was an unexpected surprise, with views of the garden and beautiful countryside. Breakfast was exceptionally good. Overall we had a wonderful stay.

The shower was very slow, with pressure and water flow. However, the water was nice and hot,so did the job. Also the room was quite small, with not much floor space, but compensated by the big balcony.
