We stayed in the Llechwedd Glamping tents as we wasn’t able to stay at the hotel. We were very happy with our accommodation, it felt like we were staying in a cabin as opposed to a tent! It was clean, warm and very comfortable. The beds were lovely, the shower was fab and we had a fully equipped kitchenette where we cooked some lovely meals. As there’s no TV, we played board games and cards which was great as these days too much family time can be spent on phones or television/films. We had breakfast on our own terrace and walked our dogs on the Quarry paths early in the morning. Watching the zip lines across the quarry was fun too! We had our own log fire which was a lovely treat of an evening whilst playing chess. Highly recommended.

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like about the property at all. The only minus was having to park our car at the bottom of the steep slate track to the tents and having someone drive us up in their 4X4. We decided to pack our car the night before, making several trips up and down the slate track so we only had to walk down ourselves with our dogs in the morning that we checked out.

Spacious with great artwork and old mine photos (artists are descendants of the original owners / mine founders), bespoke furnishings and classic decor. Comfortable bed, great shower and quality bathroom consumables, biscuits and water provided as well as good quality coffees/tea/hot choc. Staff all very helpful and approachable/friendly. Easy to find, easy parking. Lovely view. Help yourself breakfast, but with eggs cooked to order if didn't want the scrambled ones (which were perfect anyway )! Evening meals and friendly bar on site. Very dog friendly, but scrupiously clean too!

Restaurant menu is limited, sure it could be a popular restaurant with non residents if menu expanded and marketed well.

Cleanliness is extremely important and I was so pleased that the staff had worked hard to provide us with a very clean room and bathroom. The staff were all wonderful, polite, professional and friendly and tried to make our stay as lovely as possible. Was pleased with the tea and coffee facilities in the room too. Breakfast was lovely and well presented with plenty of choice. Hotel was set in a great location for driving to the different and spectacular areas of Snowdonia and not far from the west coast.

When I booked our stay, it was for a well deserved break from work and housework for the both of us. I therefore booked a hotel that described our room as "luxurious", "spacious" and "deluxe", just what we needed. However, our room was definitely not spacious (much smaller than ours at home) and the facilities were not luxurious in comparison to previous stays elsewhere. It was a good job we had brought all our toiletries with us as only shower gel was provided, no hand soap to wash our hands after a very long journey.

We took our children to see santa at the zipmas experience and the hotel was literally the other side of the car park, so very convenient for us. We had a family room which had a king size bed and double sofa bed for the kids. The bed was really comfortable. The room was really spacious and plenty of facilities as in tea/coffee/milk, hot chocolate for the kids and packets of biscuits. Also bottled water for us all. The bathroom was nice and spacious with all toiletries included. We were greeted by friendly staff both when we arrived and went down for breakfast the following morning. Enough choice for breakfast and good quality food.

The only fault we had was that the room was soo hot at night, even with the window open.

Front of house staff were lovely. Food was good and decent value. Room was nicely laid out and TV was good enough, has apps. Scenery is beautiful and next door to zip world.

Table service needs some work, lady took our drinks and food order but we had to chase our drinks up. Food was delivered (1 chips came 5mins later). We never got asked if food was okay, if we wanted sauce, or if wanted another drink. I know it had been snowing but the restaurant was cold. At breakfast time, the food wasn't topped up alot and some seemed to have been there a while. Self serve which was fine. The fire alarm device in the room flashes, can be distracting if can't sleep. Radiators bit odd to work but sorted it.

Staff were friendly and the hotel is modern with a good amount of space, clean and tidy, great location for other towns and easy to find. Looks great from the outside at night and there's a beautiful view at the front. Lots of parking. We got an upgrade which we really appreciated and all staff were happy to help with anything. Bed was comfy and warm, sleep quality was amazing which can be hard for some away from home, bath and shower were clean and spacious compared to a lot of other hotels and it was nice to be able to spread out.

The food was expensive for what it is, £15 for breakfast which is a lot if you're only having scrambled egg on toast or Cereal. Dinner was nice, i had the burger which tasted very fresh but the pizza tasted like a frozen one from tesco. There was a poo smell coming from our bathroom which was either the drains or the dirty toilet brush (which we didn't use and found on our last night, covered in loo roll and sat in dirty water in its holder). I notified the staff early on but there wasn't much that could be done other than to keep the drains plugged and the bathroom door shut, this helped but it was off putting.

Lovely modernised hotel overlooking Blaenau Ffestiniog, based in the refurbished 19th-Century home of the man who founded the slate mine. Comfortable spacious bedroom, well appointed with a lovely bathroom and powerful Wi-Fi. Really nice staff. Good breakfast selection.

The evening restaurant menu was a disappointment. It was entirely composed of burgers, pizzas and other pub standards. Fresh vegetables were notable by their absence. It was all home-made and nicely cooked (and inexpensive) but honestly, in a hotel of this standard (and price) I would happily have paid a lot more for a more imaginative meal.

The location was fantastic, amazing views from the hotel and in locations close by. The hotel was very clean, the room was fantastic and we had a lovely night away, wish we could have stayed longer. Breakfast was lovely the next morning. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Would definitely love to visit again. Make sure to book a table in the restaurant, we forgot and as it was half term the only available tables were a little late in the evening for our children to eat. However the hotel had a list of places to eat close by, which we tried and had a great evening.

There wasn't anything we didn't like except we could stay longer.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Plas Weunydd, and I must say it was a perfect experience. The staff, mostly young individuals, exuded confidence and warmth, making me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. I was pleasantly surprised when they informed me of a complimentary upgrade, but even without that, the stay would have been enjoyable. The property's location, just a 40-minute drive from most Snowden routes, was convenient and the nearby views were truly captivating. The dining experience was delightful, with some dinner tables offering stunning views. The food itself was very nice, featuring a well-curated selection to suit various preferences. The check-in and check-out process was seamless, adding to the overall perfection of my stay. I would undoubtedly rate Plas Weunydd as a top-notch destination.

Nothing.

The hotel was very well kept and exceptionally clean. The room was quite comfortable and the additional climate control fan was appreciated as was the large screen TV with access to Netflix. The evening/night bar staff was excellent. The location allows easy access and a scenic drive into Portmerion and Snowdonia from the South or into Betws-y-Coed. The house itself is lovely. It is co-located with the Zip-Wire and Quarry Mine attractions. The staff were all very courteous, all of the time. Room cleaning does not start until 10:30 which eases the pressure in the morning. The welcome note in the room is a nice touch.

They do not take cash at the bar or restaurant (which has a limited selection). Our room, though clean and comfortable, was very compact (as was the toilet). The breakfast/staff were inconsistent. The 1st morning the buffet food ran down and was not refilled in a timely manner (eggs, mushrooms and yoghurt) nor were the empty tables quickly cleared . The second morning the buffet was kept somewhat better but not warmed. The third morning was spot on. Because of the working quarry and tourist attractions around it, it has a slight quirky industrial feel to it that is still scenic in its own way.
