I really enjoyed my stay at the hostel; everything was perfectly designed! Room Bathroom Toilet Common area dining place everything was clean and neat. Kudos to the team 👏. Thank you.

That's a bummer about the wifi at the hostel. Please reach out to Sky Network and ask them to send a technical engineer to fix the IP assignment issue, maybe the configuration or Config of DHCP should be done properly. It's frustrating when devices keep getting disconnected. I had the same problem with my laptop. Hopefully, once they address this, it will make the hostel experience even the best one ever !

The location is amazing. The hostel is very nice. We had good meals and breakfast from the kitchen. We also used the guests kitchen to cook some meals. It was great to be able to use the washing machine and drier after a muddy walk

Parking is a nightmare!! Be warned. Book parking online beforehand with Just Park - if you can get their stupid app to work. Do NOT arrive without parking booked as there are only a few other spaces available. If you arrive late you could be totally stuck. The Just Park staff will not make any exceptions. There is also no wifi coverage so you will need to use the hostel wifi to try to book a parking space - and it will most likely be booked up. It is really annoying as the car park is empty at night, with hikers arriving early in the morning. There is a park and ride available (£5 + bus fares) but only until 6.45.

The accommodation was very basic; bunks and and shared amenities, as was reflected in the very reasonable price. Perfect if you're looking for somewhere warm and friendly as a base for walking up Snowdon on the Miner's or Pyg Paths. Self catering and eat-in options available.

Unfortunately since my last stay, the council have introduced eye-watering parking prices in the car park opposite (£40 for 24 hours). Limited free parking at the YHA on a first come first served basis. This is no fault of the YHA, but it can add considerably to what would otherwise be a budget stay.

Location is perfect for Crib Goch scramble or hike to summit. Breakfast also amazing as portion was to fill the man before day out. Room was as expected from YHA, clean sheets and room all round, however neighbouring visits to the toilet at night were waking our room up. This was caused by squeaky door. Oh and showers - 1 good thing one not so good -> Nice and hot water is 10, however the shower head was a bit like hose - and a separation curtain would help to keep clothes dry while showering. (not anything that would ruin life :P ) DRY ROOM is amazing feature if you know how to use soap to clean your clothes. Parking available on the other side of the road after about 15:00 and it's pricy- no discount for hostel guests :( WiFi is decent to check necessary stuff and better is available for an extra. Live weather update on the mountain would be amazing as this is why hostel is in superb location.

YHA poster on the Llanberis side is not lighted anymore. (just as reminder for the staff) Soft drinks on the tap would have been an option for us (alcohol free beer)

Next to Miner’s trail. Convenient location. Nice staff and very welcoming. Nice dorm rooms. The rooms just to sit in is comfortable as well

When I first arrived (when it was quite dark outside), it was hard to find the entrance and I thought I arrived at the wrong location. The food is good, but most of them are just full on carbs and not really healthy or nutritious. The toilets in Men’s Dorm rooms are cramped and sometimes they don’t have hand sanitizers inside. Place could do better with more leisure activities inside when we all done hiking

Absolutely fantastic location for walking around Snowdon and the National park. Incredible value for money, especially going in December when I went. Great kitchen facilities to make your own food. I ended up being ‘upgraded’ to a 6 person dormitory all to myself. The beds all have plug sockets accessible which was great and a little light also. A very well structured and kept hostel. The breakfast was good value for money.

The only minor downside was the number of toilets and showers. On my floor there were multiple 6 person dorms with only one toilet and one shower nearby. You had to go downstairs or across to the next section for more toilets - not the worst as they were nowhere near far away, but just one to note for anyone needing a toilet nearby. Another very minor problem, which wasn’t their fault, was that staff hasn’t turned up and so they were still cleaning the rooms and I couldn’t check in on time which was frustrating.

Staff were extremely nice and helpful. Perfect location for the Snowdon Miners Track/ Pyg trail and with a bus stop right outside with a frequent service. Beautiful scenic location for a walk in the mountains. Hostel was clean and cosy. Very convenient to have a restaurant and bar in the building. Generous breakfast and happy to have vegan/ vegetarian options on the menu. Drying room was handy.

Would recommend booking an en-suite room because showers were often busy. Would have been good to have access to a kettle in the main building without needing to go to the kitchen in the barn building. Found the wifi very spotty with frequent disconnection and we had no phone service at all which could be a problem for some if expecting strong wifi connection. Staff kindly let us use the landline for taxis etc.

YHA Snowdon Pen-y-Pass was an excellent place to stay, right in the middle of one of the nicest passes of Snowdonia. The accommodation itself was about what you'd expect from a YHA; a good bed, a nice breakfast if you pay, and helpful staff. The main draw of this location is the scenery, as well as the close proximity to a number of hiking trails.

The main issue is the parking; expect to pay up to £40 a night if you want to park for longer than 12 hours, as well as having to book a park beforehand. We parked in a nearby town (Nant Peris) and took the bus to Pen-y-Pass (it stops in the YHA car park), but be warned that the last bus is around 6:45pm, so you can't stay out that late unless you fancy a 1 hour walk, or have a taxi pre-booked (it can be hard to get service).

I’ve stayed here before & loved it both times. the location is wonderful for hiking, which was the purpose of the trip but also for the peace & quiet. I love it here, views are great and the food is really good!

Only suggestion would be to potentially offer a “packed lunch” type of service while the cafe at the summit of snowdon is closed, as my partner & I were a little less prepared food wise than we wanted to be for the hike as we thought the cafe would be open (as I was I can see why it’s closed!). We set off really early so would have been too early for breakfast. As it was, we were back down just after breakfast stopped service but thought I’d suggest it!

You could not ask for a more beautiful setting, at this mountain pass at the "rooftop of Wales." the views were stunning, and the warden's station is right across the road for those wishing to hike Glyder Fach or Snowdon. Transport from Bangor was easy using the "Sherpa" bus system. I made use of the laundry/drying room and enjoyed a reasonably-priced breakfast that included delicious home-made yoghurt. The hostel itself is a lovely stone building, recently renovated to improve energy-efficiency. There were interesting signboards about local geology, botany, and the history of this place.

Had a little trouble finding the self-catering kitchen--signage was a little confusing. A very minor complaint for an otherwise excellent facility.
