We loved the history of the property. All the little nuggets of information displayed were very interesting. The garden was well maintained and we sat out and had a drink from the bar which was nice. We have stayed here before and had an amazing room with a bath and seating area (Alexandra suite) so our room allocated to us this time , although was nice wasn’t as good as before so we would definitely upgrade our room.

Our room, Jeanne Marie was at the top of the house and that meant climbing stairs. The room was very quaint but the shower was a bit hit and miss. The carpet leading up to the room was a bit shabby and some of the paint work needed a bit of a wipe. Breakfast was in the sister hotel across the road which as the weather was gorgeous it wasn’t an issue to walk across there and the breakfast was excellent but I wouldn’t be so keen if it had been bad weather. The hotel is lovely but I think it’s getting a bit tired in the communal areas and could do with a bit of a facelift.

The 2 managers who run the hotel, Simeon and Patricia were very helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The housekeeper made sure everyday that our room was freshened up and restocked. The investors of the hotel are fortunate to have such professional and friendly staff to manage it for them. There is also a cosy lounge where you can have tea and coffee and there is also a separate bar.

The only negative was that they did not serve breakfast, the staff explained that this changed during Covid. Breakfast is available across the road at their sister hotel, you can have a cooked and continental breakfast.

We liked the ambiance and interior architecture of the public rooms and spaces and the setting among mature trees. The room was very comfortable with nice furniture and a view over the garden and reasonably quiet. The shower was good with plenty of room. We particularly liked the display about Lilly Langtry and her friends and associates. We appreciated the free coffee in the lounge room.

We didn't like the canned music in the bar and we weren't keen or the continuous sound of 70s pop music on the radio at Reception which you could hear in the coffee room. No music at all would have been more relaxing.

Very warm welcome from Patricia on arrival who advised us of the lounge with complementary tea and coffee.Nice bar, open until 10 with reasonably priced wine and beer. Lovely room;quiet, comfy bed, spotlessly clean, good shower.Fan supplied, small room heater..so all weathers covered!!Hairdryer in room.Breakfast served at the sister hotel which is a 2 minute walk across the road. Excellent, professional ,polite and courteous staff. Fantastic breakfast with a good selection of fruit, cereals, pastries and then option of cooked breakfast, eggs royale etc..Location great for the 5 minute walk to beach which you walk left towards Boscombe Pier or right towards Bournemouth with all its amenities.

This place has plenty of character and charm, personified by the staff and throughout the period building. In the Poynter Suite, our room was actually more spacious than it looked in the photos, and we delighted to discover that it was equipped with a jacuzzi bath! The cleanliness and decor was kept in perfect order. Breakfast at the sister boutique hotel a mere minute walk away was really tasty — home-cooked and swiftly served (we had the full English) and a selection of pastries, help-yourself cereals and fresh fruits, as well as fine filter coffee, was presented by lovely staff. A great location down to the beach 8 minute walk away, zig zagging down the ‘Toft’ for my morning workout was a great start to the day as my partner made full use of the reading area. All in all a great place to stay close to Bournemouth, especially for the history lovers and those intrigued by the legacy of Miss. Lily Langtree.

Location was perfect. We had the most wonderful time at Langtry Manor hotel. We found it whilst looking at haunted places to visit in Dorset and we are so happy we did. We didn’t experience any paranormal activity but we had a fabulous weekend. The rooms were lovely, the Manor is beautiful. Patricia was a delight and so very helpful and friendly throughout our stay. Sarah at the Derby hotel was lovely, very welcoming even though she was busy with breakfast service. We met Steve on our check out day and he was also super helpful and friendly. All round a truly fabulous team, we will definitely return. Thank you for taking such good care of us!

Free parking, nice location, history of the property, Generally nice ambiance

Although we were upgraded to a fantastic room, much appreciated, the room clearly had not had a good clean for a while as evidenced by the cobwebs all over the room, the top surface of the tiles in the en suite were dirty. The room hadn’t been checked as the shower temperature could not be adjusted, & only dispensed very hot water rendering it unusable. Also one of the toilets in the ladies powder room was blocked with #### & would not flush. My wife had to bring it to the attention of a member of staff as it clearly had not been checked.

Love the history and that the hotel has kept a lot of the look of the period. The staff (especially Simone) were very friendly and provided an outstanding welcome, showing us to our room and amenities available in the hotel. Giving excellent and accurate information in and around the Dorset area. Also providing a fan in the room on request. The room was large, with lots of storage space and the large bed was very comfortable. The hotel is within walking distance from the beach and town.

You have to cross the road for breakfast to the Derby Manor but to be honest this was not a problem and well worth it. Excellent service and lovely breakfast. Shower room was small but understandable given the style of the room.

Bedroom was spacious and had separate lounge room. Bathroom was well equipped but step up to bath was dangerous. Decoration is in keeping with the historic building and the information about Lily Langtry very well displayed.

The closure of the kitchen and dining room is in our opinion a mistake. When we stayed before, the dining room was a highlight of the hotel for both dinner and breakfast, now you have to cross the road to go to the sister hotel for breakfast. Breakfast was disappointing, the chef cannot cook eggs to save his life! One table had to send them back three times, my husband's fried eggs were under cooked and my poached eggs were like bullets. The menu is incorrect with the chilli on the avocado dish not mentioned at all. Two tables challenged this and had to choose something else. I chose eggs benedict, asked for the sauce on the side, it came smothered in sauce!

The room was very nicely furnished, old-fashioned but suits the house and felt very plush. We were welcomed with a great selection of coffee sachets and tea, as well as a couple of lovely biscuits, which was much appreciated after a long day. The room also had a heater and plug-in fan (which we made use of and were very grateful for as it was a hot day). Sadly, we didn't get to get a proper look around the hotel, but I will definitely make an effort to if we stay again.

The shower door didn't fully close (room 6), so we did worry about water escaping and had to be careful when showering. The sink is also a little small and the underneath looks unfinished, but I can imagine with a small ensuite it's not viable to install a bigger one.
