Sorrento Hotel & Restaurant

I was in a single room, on first floor. Stayed for one night as i was in Cambridge for an event. Room was clean and comfortable, adequate storage, plus a safe. wifi was good. Free parking in the carpark. Buffet Breakfast was good and ample food. Bathroom products are available, so no need to bring own. Iron was available. Staff were very helpful and courteous. It was about 20 min walk to station and 40 min to centre. Good restaurants on site (although I didn't try it) and other restaurants and pubs as you walk into centre

Only minor.. bathroom was quite tiny in the single room. But it didn't hinder my stay.

My room was newly refurbed to a high standard and immaculately clean, the breakfast was fantastic and the food in restaurant was top class Italian.

Initially when I arrived I was offered a un refurbed room on the ground floor straight in front of reception, personally can not see the point of that room as all the others have been updated. I asked to be moved and it was dealt with straight away, no problem. I would have given a 10/10 across the board if not this issue.

Lovely place. Clean and comfortable room. Very good buffet breakfast including English breakfast and really good choice of cereals, fruit and seeds. Also, some small but nice choice of cheese, and both toast and "traditional" bread. No problem with leaving luggage at reception after check out and collect later. Bus stop just a few steps from hotel, quite frequent bus going directly to train station and city centre.

Tiny issue, but maybe you can install at least one hook in bathroom for wet towel.

Friendly staff . Breakfast - excellent choice . Great berry bowl. Room - good size and good facilities . All nice and clean. Bed fine . Moreover the Italian restaurant so convenient , especially after a long trip. Great pizza . Good secure parking around the back.

Breakfast bacon . Personal preference thin crispy rashers not the rubbery thick type available . Also a pity no Italian breakfast choices . The room location on road side - problem quite warm weather on days stayed, so the choice: Either a room a bit too warm or sporadic traffic wake up "calls" .

Ground floor room, convenient to front door, pizza that came with a pizza slicer, all staff friendly and good service, neat clean and tidy, would recommend and I will become a regular.

The radiators could do with being upgraded to twin convector modern standards, and the mattresses would have to be upgraded to the same mattresses that are in the premier inn hotels and I say this because the coil springs in mattresses are starting to fail. But other than that a good stay 😄

Staff were absolutely lovely and very welcoming. The bed was super comfy and the bathroom was incredibly tidy. I also had a meal in the restaurant which was so so nice! The tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms... chefs kiss. Restaurant staff were really nice too.

Only thing that could've been better was breakfast. I came down 15 mins after breakfast started and ordered a bacon sandwich, but they didn't tell me for like 10 minutes that they didn't have any bread left and someone was going to the shop. Unfortunately I couldn't wait as I had to go to work, however they quickly made me a couple of poached eggs, which were nice and they were very apologetic.

Lovely restaurant with friendly staff. Good location for where I needed to be. Felt secure and comfortable. Very good value for money. Wonderful breakfast included in the price. Felt quite homely and not ‘corporate’ style of other more expensive hotels I have stayed in in Cambridge. Enjoyed my stay.

I had a ground floor room on the main road, so some traffic noise. Curtains quite thin so light from street and early sunrise. Could put a towel rail in the bathroom. All these issues would be easy to fix (better double glazing, blockout blinds, screw in a towel rail) in which case I would rate it excellent.

The hotel was a little quirky but comfortable and equipped with all that could be expected in a modest hotel. An excellent breakfast was provided. The buffet was extensive and varied and the cooked food, especially the bacon, exceptionally tasty. Dinner in the restaurant was very good, too, with a wide range of authentic Italian dishes on offer. Service was efficient and all the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The breakfast menu was a bit misleading, as poached mackerel was included in the cooked beakfast options but, in fact, it was only available as a cold portion from the buffet. The shower was a lacking in power but worked well enough and the en suite facilities were modern and very clean. These are minor quibbles, as the experience was really very good all told. The free parking was a real bonus.

Well sized room with all amenities including a fridge in the room. Very well located if working at Addenbrookes with parking facilities. The proprietor of the hotel is very attentive to your needs and very kind. First hotel where I felt pampered when it came to breakfast.

The cleaning staff were quite loud and noisy. I was trying to sleep post night shift but woke up due to the disturbance. They are probably not used to customers being around during the daytime.

The staff were so lovely! The receptionist offered me 4 separate rooms to choose from since I had booked quite last minute and even very kindly offered an upgrade. The room I initially chose was quite loud due to a birthday party happening in the restaurant below but after informing the receptionist, she kindly moved me to another room no questions asked. I have absolutely no complaints concerning my stay - would definitely recommend :)
