The hotel is located in the middle of the city and opens right on to the pedestrianised area, but is still easily accessible by car. There are a range of different rooms to choose from, some with views of the city. Our room was large with an extra big bed. The restaurant serves a good selection of food and the bar is small but well stocked, with a good range of cocktails. Breakfast is charged at £18 per person but is unnecessary as there are plenty of nice cafes within walking distance which are much cheaper. The hotel is a premium choice within the city. There are other lodges and guest houses which are cheaper, but if you’re looking for a treat this hotel is well worth it. I’ve stayed at the hotel on a few occasions and would happily do so again.

The bathroom was a little tired, with a towel rail having come loose from the wall. Parking is £18 overnight with no space guaranteed, operating on a first come, first served basis.

The central location right in town walking distance of all main attractions , and only a 10 min walk from west Canterbury station , room was fab very spacious and stylish .

The only one niggle was that our room was at the front over looking town and even though there was secondary glazing it was at times noisy at night , so I would go for river side next time , and also to have information in room on how to use the air con and heating as I turned it off as I was too hot then couldn’t re set it and it was cold in the night , apart from that nothing bad about property

I picked the hotel because of the location and it was great. Easy to get to all the places I wanted to visit nearby made accesible. Although the hotel was in a busy road I did not suffer or get disturbed by any noise. the bed was comfortable and the room standard. I had drinks at the location and was pricey but pleasant. I did have cocktails elsewhere nearby and had better away from the hotel. Decided to have breakfast away from the hotel as we wanted to try out some of the independent places in Canterbury and the hotel in true form delivers the standard breakfast. The location of breakfast was pleasant and organised however. the staff were all pleasant and very willing to share recommendations and knowledge which was helpful when I didn’t expect that. The car park is small but was never busy during our stay. Price was extremely reasonable

Towels were very small. the hairdryer was missing head end accessory which is required for hair like mine. it would have been nice to have a selection of teas and biscuits.

Weather was lovely so this time we managed to use the balcony apart from the view was a dead seagull that housekeeping obviously didn't notice. The room is lovely too with all expected amenities, and aircon which was a blessing!

The blind in the bedroom was broken and could not be raised up, for the price of the room this should have been noticed by housekeeping and fixed, the drainage system in the sink was not working properly either. We notified reception so that the next guests didnt have to put up with it. When you are only there for 1 night you want to sometimes let trival things go over your head otherwise can ruin your stay if you have to keep moaning.

The location was ideal for my requirements. It was a pity that there is so little parking available but that is understandable in view of the location

Breakfast was not particularly good. The fruit in a bowl was limited in scope and the bowl was not easy to eat from. Simililarly the porridge portion was a thin layer of porridge in a large bowl. Morning coffee was served in small cups and only available for a top top by waitress service. Overall breakfast was well presented but required a lot of serving effort for a small meal. It would be better to at least have the coffee as self service and maybe consider that a more efficient way of managing the food supply by say self service like many hotels already do.

Sorry…I put this this on the wrong section. Weekend breakfast started at 8 am….this is late for those with tours or other commitments and travel arrangements. A fast continental option for self serve juice, coffee etc…would be great, also bringing individual cups of coffee to guests is not efficient and coffee gets cold !!! While waiting for food is ok for fine dining, breakfast is a different matter and your hotel would serve its guests better if this could be addressed in the future.

The hotel is very central to most parts of the city. The room was comfortable and clean, and most staff were friendly.

Being a Blue badge holder, I found the car park didn't have any marked disabled spaces, and it was quite a distance to walk to the reception area. When I asked if I could access the car park from a rear door that led out to the car park, I was told it was for staff only, but they would get someone to carry our cases to my car. All well and good, but I still had to make my way to the car park.

My room was lovely and my breakfast was great. Great location. Most of the staff were very friendly but a couple of the reception staff weren't very helpful

When I booked, I requested parking, as I am disabled and need my car at hand. There was no information given about having to pay for parking on top of the price quoted. I was very surprised to be given a bill for parking when I checked out. The staff were adiment that they made it clear to Booking.com that barking was extra. It wasn't clear to me.

The hotel is spotlessly clean. The staff are friendly and attentive. The attention to detail was outstanding. It was my birthday and the flowers my husband had ordered on my arrival were beautiful, there was a card wishing me happy birthday from the hotel and the chocolate treats were lovely. Thank you

The only tiny moan was the temperature if the shower. It fluctuated from very hot to cold at times.

Check in and check out was really smooth, friendly and welcoming. Room was absolutely perfect for what we needed, bathroom very clean, location is perfect and despite being in the high street it was absolutely silent inside! Overall I was thoroughly impressed with the residence and would stay again at an abode hotel. Toilets are sensor controlled for flushing which was a nice touch and even in the cheapest room option you do feel the 4* quality.

Breakfast staff in my opinion were a bit rude, couples seating didn't really have any space for privacy - you're literally stacked next to everyone else and the tables we'd have preferred hadn't been cleaned. Glad breakfast was included in the price of the stay it's not worth the £18 per person otherwise... Like it's a nice breakfast but nothing to write home about and portions seemed small. Soap in bathrooms smell was a bit unpleasant but that's just my own taste. Tuck box is a bit cheeky too, £2 for a diet coke can when you're next door to a sainsburys.
