Very pleasant clean room with - most importantly - a comfortable bed. Fantastic location. In spite of an England v Wales Rugby match being shown in the pub below, we were pleased to discover that we couldn't hear the noise from those watching it, at all in our room. We used the small council car park just a few doors up from the pub - after 6pm it's free and from 8am it was something like £3.60 for 4 hours (you could just pay for an hour etc, though). Very useful having the electric fan available in the room as it was quite a warm night.

Not the fault of the Rose & Crown, but the noise from the road sweeping vehicle going up and down the road at 6am on a Sunday morning was annoying!

Really Friendly Hotel, all the staff made us feel really welcome. Great pub with an nice restaurant serving excellent Pub grub. We were in room # 8 which was a really a nice double with ensuite.

I don't want to put a negative as everyone at the Rose and Crown was so warm and friendly...however: The bathroom was a good size and would of been perfect, except we had a luke warm shower the first morning (which we put down to showering quite late) and a cold shower the next morning....it seems the boiler wasn't working properly and in hindsight we should of mentioned the luke warm shower we had the first morning...this was a shame as we'd really enjoyed our stay and will happily make a return visit. oh and the heated towel rail didn't work.

It was a nice pub, nice decor staff are so friendly and the food was really good. the room was clean and comfortable. the shower was good. parking was only round the side of the hotel even though it was public. it’s easy to pay online and it’s free overnight. stayed two nights and room was cleaned each time.

It’s on a main road through the town and so there was a bit of noise as we were in a room at the front and had to have the window open due to the hot weather. it would have been quieter with the window shut. doors slamming upstairs in the evening and early morning was slightly annoying

Absolute gem of a place. The staff were all really lovely. Helpful, kind, friendly. The bar area had a great atmosphere. The evening meal was outstanding. My room was clean and I slept really well - the bed was nice and comfy. The shower and toilet for my room was just across the hall. I think mine was the only room that was not en-suite.

Parking was a short walk away. It was a council car park, and the machine wasn't working when I arrived which made it really stressful because I kept on trying and it kept crashing! There is no lift to the bedrooms. Not a deal breaker for me - I don't mind doing stairs - but just something to bear in mind if you have mobility issues.

Smiley, friendly but professional staff Easy booking in. Room clean bathroom spotless and shiny plus toiletries. Bottle water and biscuits with plenty of tea/coffee/milk. Food superb. Made to feel comfortable and at home. Central positioned to all amenities Love the park (10min saunter away) assortment of chain and smaller shops. Various types of wares on sale within the indoor market. Still managed to find Second Hand Rose jewellery with extensive range of stock and prices- forced myself to buy yet another ring from them!! So much to absorb about the history etc of the place. Adore Merlin in his small shopping avenue. Everything within 15 minutes of railway station.

Someone had taken all the coat hangers?! Didn't like having to leave there.!! Only slight negative is the ensuite is 2 paces away on the other side of the corridor it was kept locked and I had the key and sole use of it (having stayed there before I was aware of this before booking so my choice)

Overnight stay at The Rose & Crown was a pleasure. The room was lovely and bright overlooking the street. The ensuite facilities were very smart. Plenty of refreshments provided in fact more than some expensive hotels! Thoughtful things like bottles of water provided for either the kettle or just to drink. The bed linen was immaculate in fact the room was super clean, which was much alleviated. The breakfast was delicious with plenty on the menu to choose from. We will be booking here again on our next visit 😊

Rooms were clean, freshly decorated and were cleaned daily during my stay. As it's a hotel above a pub, I was concerned it might be noisy. The pub is more like a restaurant and it was nice and quiet. I stayed Weekdays to Friday Staff were pleasant and helpful.

For the type of accomodation, it was a good standard, but a bit expensive. One Major inconvenience was that the WIFI would not work / connect.

The room was clean and well equipped and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent as were the staff very helpful and friendly.

The only issue I had was with the noise outside on a Saturday evening. It was very hot so we had to keep the window open and our room looked out onto the main street. The noise from Saturday night revellers was quite bad until quite late and I had to close the window during the night. I do realise that this is beyond the control of the hotel management. Thank goodness they had provided us with a fan which was a big help in the heat.

The hotel was very clean, the food was great and overall my stay was good. My bag was carried up the stairs for me which was lovely, all staff very helpful and the cleaning lady was very friendly and considerate. Really happy with my stay and will be back :)

Not much, it was a heatwave and there was only one fan in the room which the speed was broken so it was either on or off. I know they can not help the weather but the room was very hot - I sadly couldn't leave the windows open as I was on a fire escape exit.

We were on a cycling holiday. There is a locked courtyard which was ideal to store the bikes. Very pleased with the accommodation. Very friendly staff who made us feel welcome. Traditional breakfast was excellent

The wifi had problems connecting with IP address issues. This is usually due to too many people using it. Started working when fewer people were in the pub
