It's a relaxed, comfortable hotel. Very atmospheric, with lots of history. It was one of Dylan Thomas, the poets favourite places. The room was spacious, and had a mini fridge, which was very useful. There was a fantastic period bathroom. The staff were all lovely. They kindly acknowledged we were celebrating a birthday and put two small bottles of Prosecco and biscuits in our room. Dexters restaurant served great food.

Would have liked breakfasts to be served just a little longer. Would have liked more choice - veggie or some chicken on the menu A lift would have been helpful as we were on the top floor, with lots of stairs.

The Breakfast was excellent The Steak Dinner was exceptional The staff were very helpful Over riding all this... I imagine that a majority of tourists go to Laugharn for one reason - Dylan Thomas. If so, then the place one might wish to stay the most would be The Brown's. It does not disappoint... it is classy and stylish; not too expensive; and everything a Dylan fan might hope for.

It is still a pub / hotel in the high street and as such on a Friday / Saturday night, there is likely to be noise from outside. We chose the first Friday of the month, there the pub next door (The Three Mariners!) were holding their Kareoke night. This being Wales, it was actually quite entertaining!

Our room was spacious and clean. Had a really nice roll top bath in our room which was a lovely surprise. The bed was also very comfy. The staff were helpful and friendly. The bar was well stocked and a great place to have a chilled drink in the evening. Dining at Dexter's was superb. Well worth the price in my opinion.

The hotel is a little noisy at night, We unfortunately got disturbed the two nights we stayed due to doors being closed and heavy footsteps coming from the room above, you can also hear conversations coming from the bar area at times. Seemed to be a lack of staff at check-in and check out , had to go and find someone to assist us. Also the staff kept the blinds drawn at breakfast which made the breakfast room quite dark, some natural daylight would certainly have helped.

Incredible room - esp the bathroom with roll top bath! Great Tea/Coffee making facilities. The ceiling fan was an absolute godsend in the warm weather and just as good as AC. The breakfast is simply INCREDIBLE It's ALL very high quality and incredible value - so nice to stay in a REAL hotel/inn with character and charm.

Fridge did not work properly but had no use for it. The bar is great but did feel like it was all taken up by what is a real top end restaurant so there was no lounging space. A little disappointing for what is a historically significant space in the story of Dylan Thomas - I was expecting a little bit more of a "drinking establishment" vibe - although I completely understand the restaurant's appeal - it is TOP quality - if not a tad on the expensive side for a casual/business traveller on an work evening meal allowance!

A charming, interesting hotel with great character. We were welcomed with a smile and the staff never stopped smiling throughout our stay. Our room was a good size, full of character and history. The bed was very comfy and such a lovely bath to soak in with a book. Our dinner was delicious and the staff were ever attentive and helpful. Our cairn terrier was welcomed and there were no issues. The hotel is really interesting being Dylan Thomas's watering hole. Laugharne is very pretty with views across the bay, an interesting castle and, of course, Dylan Thomas. Brown's Hotel is a lovely spot and we will return. Thank you very much for all your hard work.

There was a tiny issue with no space in the car park BUT the staff were brilliant in sorting this out with no issue - so it does not really count! The true test of a good hotel is how they deal with any challenges - Brown's hotel staff were exemplary.

We really enjoyed our 2 night stay at The Brown’s Hotel. Great location & a great base for exploring Sth West Wales. We had the junior suite. It was comfortable & quiet. The staff were stunning. There was nothing that was too much to ask of Jack, Charlie & the team. Being an older building there are lots of stairs & we were on the third level. Bit of an issue with large suitcases, however not for Jack. He even came in specially the morning of our departure to get our bags down to the car. The restaurant, Dexters, was first class & the equal of any large city top of the line restaurant/hotel.

Nothing.

We have been visiting Brown's for the last eight years as a couple and family....we have always had a fantastic time comfort...entertainment and great food...we have stayed in many rooms...llareggub...burgess...corran and talachan....however on returning after the first time after lockdown we were sadly dissapointed with the feeling that Dylan Thomas is being removed...the character of Brown's has been lost....the little nicnaks of him ..photographs...and general feeling are gone...the bar is now a restaurant and the reading lounge empty of staff and quite bare...the breakfast was nice with nice coffee and fresh juice...very friendly staff.

We stayed with our sister and husband...we both payed through booking.com...they paid 239.00...for two nights we payed 316.00...quite expensive...we will definitely be returning to Laughne as its become a favourite of ours and would definitely book the restaurant which is superb...but sadly will not be returning to Brown's at that price...the weather wasn't the best to sit in the beer garden but even Dylan's Deck was looking rusty and overgrown.

The welcome was lovely, the food amazing and the room was delightful. Dinner - despite not booking ahead of time and the restaurant being very busy, we were accommodated with a smile . We relaxed in some comfy chairs in the lounge with a bottle of wine whilst we waited. With no prompting required, the waiter came for us at the designated time and the meals arrived swiftly after ordering. The food was exceptional. Breakfast - again the service was great and the food was wonderful. A full welsh with the best bacon ever! The freshly squeezed fruit juice combo was delicious. Location - brilliantly situated for a walk to the estuary, the Castle, Dylan Thomas sites and lovely little shops.

The rooms were hot, despite the heating being off and the window open. The fixed fan on the wall was an excellent addition but took a bit of time to work out how to use it [sleepy in the middle of the night! and it was not switched on at the plug] small price to pay - slept like a dream after that.

The hotel was very cosy and my room was really big. I will definitely return, but for pleasure and not business!

Due to a crash on the motorway I was delayed by 4 hours. I tried to call and let the hotel know on my eta, but no one answered the phone. I arrived at 10pm and Staff had just closed the hotel entrance. Luckily I banged hard enough for them to hear me and let me in! Would have also liked an option for an earlier breakfast. I missed this because of having to leave for work

This is wonderful hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food is of a consistently exceptionally high standard. 'Dexter's Souffle' on the breakfast menu was a joyous way to start the day and the filet steak served at dinner was an absolute feast for the taste buds. Highly recommended. Laugharne may be famour for the poetry of Dylan Thomas but there is poetry of a diffeent sort being created daily in the kitchens of Brown's Hotel.
