Lovely place and warm welcome and stay for 2 nights. Very clean hotel throughout. Picked a single room (Taf) on a budget with some additional discount. Managed to park at rear which was good as past reviews said it can be a bit of a lottery to get a space. Quiet even with a bar and restaurant below my room. Loved the old features even the little slant to the floor in the room. It was a large single not like some others I’ve stayed in and nearly fallen out of bed lol.

TV wasn’t functioning properly nor the remote. Wiring exposed and messy with was in clear view. Iron and ironing board could do with replacement. All just needs a little bit of attention.

It's a relaxed, comfortable hotel. Very atmospheric, with lots of history. It was one of Dylan Thomas, the poets favourite places. The room was spacious, and had a mini fridge, which was very useful. There was a fantastic period bathroom. The staff were all lovely. They kindly acknowledged we were celebrating a birthday and put two small bottles of Prosecco and biscuits in our room. Dexters restaurant served great food.

Would have liked breakfasts to be served just a little longer. Would have liked more choice - veggie or some chicken on the menu A lift would have been helpful as we were on the top floor, with lots of stairs.

The Breakfast was excellent The Steak Dinner was exceptional The staff were very helpful Over riding all this... I imagine that a majority of tourists go to Laugharn for one reason - Dylan Thomas. If so, then the place one might wish to stay the most would be The Brown's. It does not disappoint... it is classy and stylish; not too expensive; and everything a Dylan fan might hope for.

It is still a pub / hotel in the high street and as such on a Friday / Saturday night, there is likely to be noise from outside. We chose the first Friday of the month, there the pub next door (The Three Mariners!) were holding their Kareoke night. This being Wales, it was actually quite entertaining!

We had a fabulous meal at Dexters. The fillet steaks and accompaniments were top quality (the best steak sauces ever; we had brandy/peppercorn and blue cheese hollandaise; both full of flavour and absolutely delicious). Excellent service and a lovely ambiance too. Breakfast the next morning was equally impressive. We opted for the fry up to set us up for the day ahead. Lovely quality (maple cured bacon) and eggs, a very decent sausage; black pudding, beans and toast on the side. Excellent quality orange juice and a good cup of tea served in pots. We must go back for a repeat experience.

Nice hotel with cosy rooms. Everything was clean in the room and the facilities were good. Nice roll top bath. Enjoyed eating at the restaurant downstairs in the evening, where the food was good. Staff were really friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great.

Our bath would not drain and when I looked it was badly clogged with hair and desperately needed clearing out, which i always find pretty gross. The blind in the room let lots of light in, so we woke up early. We waited a long time for our breakfast, but the staff were apologetic. I would day the place needs a bit of TLC and is looking tired in places.

Lovely room, good hot drinks facilities, mini fridge was a bonus. Beautiful old building, lots of period features and information about the history of the area. Cosy area for dining and great food. The locals were very complimentary about the restaurant and had used it for special occasion dining. Loved the roll-top bath! Friendly staff who were very helpful to us and the dog, who got special attention at breakfast! Lovely walks near the castle if you venture out - very tranquil and beautiful views.

Our room was spacious and clean. Had a really nice roll top bath in our room which was a lovely surprise. The bed was also very comfy. The staff were helpful and friendly. The bar was well stocked and a great place to have a chilled drink in the evening. Dining at Dexter's was superb. Well worth the price in my opinion.

The hotel is a little noisy at night, We unfortunately got disturbed the two nights we stayed due to doors being closed and heavy footsteps coming from the room above, you can also hear conversations coming from the bar area at times. Seemed to be a lack of staff at check-in and check out , had to go and find someone to assist us. Also the staff kept the blinds drawn at breakfast which made the breakfast room quite dark, some natural daylight would certainly have helped.

Fabulous quirky hotel. Very welcoming staff, lovely clean & comfortable room. Dexters restaurant was excellent for evening meal and the breakfast was cooked to order and lovely (especially if you're in to "local" dishes)

Not a "not like" as much as just a warning to others of our advanced years that there was only a bath and hand-held shower in the otherwise lovely bathroom - getting in and out of the deep bath was an interesting challenge - but that's what we septuagenarians live for :-)

Incredible room - esp the bathroom with roll top bath! Great Tea/Coffee making facilities. The ceiling fan was an absolute godsend in the warm weather and just as good as AC. The breakfast is simply INCREDIBLE It's ALL very high quality and incredible value - so nice to stay in a REAL hotel/inn with character and charm.

Fridge did not work properly but had no use for it. The bar is great but did feel like it was all taken up by what is a real top end restaurant so there was no lounging space. A little disappointing for what is a historically significant space in the story of Dylan Thomas - I was expecting a little bit more of a "drinking establishment" vibe - although I completely understand the restaurant's appeal - it is TOP quality - if not a tad on the expensive side for a casual/business traveller on an work evening meal allowance!

A charming, interesting hotel with great character. We were welcomed with a smile and the staff never stopped smiling throughout our stay. Our room was a good size, full of character and history. The bed was very comfy and such a lovely bath to soak in with a book. Our dinner was delicious and the staff were ever attentive and helpful. Our cairn terrier was welcomed and there were no issues. The hotel is really interesting being Dylan Thomas's watering hole. Laugharne is very pretty with views across the bay, an interesting castle and, of course, Dylan Thomas. Brown's Hotel is a lovely spot and we will return. Thank you very much for all your hard work.

There was a tiny issue with no space in the car park BUT the staff were brilliant in sorting this out with no issue - so it does not really count! The true test of a good hotel is how they deal with any challenges - Brown's hotel staff were exemplary.
