Spilman Hotel

Brilliant stay. A good stay begins before you arrive, with great communication from the venue. The Spilman sent us all the information we might need, including video links for accessing the car park I would strongly urge anyone planning to stay her to watch both videos! The car park is a bit tricky to find and get into, but once you've seen the videos it all makes sense. Staff are very friendly and helpful, the location is a short walk into town, and ideal for exploring around the area. Breakfast is amazing and plentiful with lots of choice and flexibility. The room was spacious, well equipped, comfortable and quiet. A perfect stay

I suppose a view of the beach would have been nice, but as that is about 8 miles away it is hardly to be expected! There was really NOTHING to not like!

My two night stay at this hotel was fantastic, my room was very clean and spacious with tea and coffee making facilities and a small fridge. Bathroom and shower was excellent plenty pressure and hot water from the shower, towels were clean and fresh. My room on the second floor was nice and quiet during my stay, no noise at all during the evening/night from adjoining rooms etc. The full breakfast I had on both mornings during my stay was fantastic with everything from cereal, fruit, full English to toast everything you could want. Every member of staff I met during my stay was excellent, no complaints whatsoever. The car parking behind the hotel has a tight entrance, especially for larger vehicles, this did not cause me any issues at all. The hotel provides a link to a film online to direct you to the car park and this allows you to see the entrance etc. You maybe able to access the film on YouTube?? Overall a fantastic two night stay and I will be returning to this hotel in the future, thank you to all the staff at the Spilman hotel.

Nothing negative to write about my two night stay.

Really pleasent stay, as soon as I arrived staff were friendly and guided tour to room and area. The room was spotless and had everything I could need or want for a room. Bed was really comfortable and bathroom was spot on. Breakfast was nice and made to order to avoid food waste. Will definitely be returning and not trying others as everything is minutes walk.

Hard to find faults but just to mention I didn't see any soya milk (probably available on request) the room doors isn't as sound proof but I didn't have any restless nights slept really well or was there noisey guests as everyone seems to stick to the 11pm cut off.

Lovely clean room just across the courtyard from reception. More of a suite than a room which was a pleasant surprise. Bed was comfy though pillows were flat, ok if you sleep flat but I’m a side sleeper so needed a little more height, perhaps adding an extra pillow. Lounge area had a sofa which again needed more cushions as the sofa back cushions had flattened. Very clean with a TV and mini fridge. Tea and coffee facilities were well stocked. Bathroom was very clean, a bath and shower meets both requirements. Small bottles of body wash were excellent. Breakfast I’d give 11/10 as it was well cooked, I was asked what items I wanted or didn’t want and it was cooked to order. The breakfast buffet selection was plentiful and it wasn’t cooked or buffet you could have both if wanted. Staff were very helpful and friendly, always smiling and available. The main downside was the car park entrance which is very narrow. I was informed on booking so aware.There is a sign suggesting a 3 point manoeuvre which is quite difficult in a narrow street. Caught the wing mirror of my Kia Sportage.

Hotel was centrally located in Carmarthen, I had chosen this hotel as my son was graduating from the local university and this was ideally located for that. The room was spacious, clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the shower was lovely. The staff were all very friendly, and the breakfast was freshly cooked for you each day from a limited breakfast menu. Overall I very much enjoyed my stay here. As the hotel states the entrance to the Car Park is very tight, I had a family sized 4x4 SUV and I managed it OK both going in and coming out, as long as you take a wide turn in and out it's fine.

Only a very few niggles, which is why didn't grant the score a 10 out of 10, the pillows were a little soft and felt non existent when you laid your head on them, unusual really as the mattress was lovely, more pillows were provided however in the wardrobe. It would have been nice to have been provided with a some danish pastries for breakfast also and having the option to have some Porridge Oats rather than a cooked breakfast. Not the hotels thought, but the entrance to the car park was twice blocked by cars whose owners where in the COOP opposite, on one of these occasions I had to go into the COOP to inquire whose car it was and them ask them politely to move it, as said not the hotels thought as they clearly have a no parking sign, just something to be aware of.

The staff are the stars of the show! We were treated like family and they went above and beyond for our stay. We were in town for an ant convention and staying at the spillman was such a joy. Our room was fabulous and spotless clean almost like we were the first people to ever stay there! The reception staff were so friendly and helpful it really made our stay so comfortable and enjoyable. The breakfast was delicious 😋 and the bar area was a fantastic chill out zone and the courtyard was secure so no anxiety about the kids relaxing either. We wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else and really look forward to staying with you again.

We didn't stay long enough it's absolutely beautiful

Staff were all excellent, breakfast was exceptional. Rooms were both clean, well presented and modern. USB sockets, iron, hairdryer and fans available in the rooms which was a nice touch. Parking was fine, but a little cramped (not a crisis). Location wise, it was convenient to get in and out of town and handy for a wander round the town including loads of shops and the medieval castle. A very pleasant stay and wish we'd given it a bit longer rather than a stop on a journey

Nothing really. It's close to a couple of pubs, but we stayed on a Saturday night and were surprised by how quiet it was.

Easy to find Hotel. Warm welcome on arrival and friendly staff throughout my stay. The room in the original building was exceptionally clean and comfortable with a drinks fridge included/ tea coffee Breakfast was both continental and cooked to order with extra toast available, 24 hour access to the front door using the access card was useful too. Nothing too much trouble and cheerful staff who want you to enjoy your stay

There was only one bath towel and one hand towel for 2 of us in the bathroom on arrival but I got some from the morning staff so not an issue.

As my wife was attending a concert at the (very) nearby Lyric Theatre for an evening performance this was a first class location, right in the middle of town. Hotel was very clean and our room was well presented with absolutely no complaints whatsoever. Everything we wanted and needed for our one night stay. Staff that I dealt with were welcoming and polite, breakfast (included) was very good. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel, and if and when we come back to Carmarthen, it will be where we choose to stay.

As previously reported, the entrance to the car park is rather tight and narrow, so if you've got a large car, take very great care! However, the online You Tube video, which is accessible from the hotel's website explaining how to get there from the front of the hotel is excellent!

Loved our stay from the very warm and enthusiastic welcome, to the huge room 24 in the annexe, the extremely comfortable beds, fantastic breakfasts, and being able to sit in the quiet bar with a drink and take a nightcap up to our room. A round of grateful applause to all of the staff serving breakfasts and housekeeping. You are awesome, thank you. Appreciated the silver cutlery and the lovely decor. Our room overlooked Wetherspoons and the Co op. Trust me when I say there was very little noise over the whole weekend, and quiet soon after 11pm. The fridge was silent and kept our fresh milk and bought drinks and fruit cool. The bathroom in room 24 was spacious and very clean. The shower was amazing. The porch is a marvellous idea as we didn’t hear anyone outside our door, nor opening and closing the annexe building external door. We occasionally heard someone walking around upstairs, but that didn’t bother us at all. The whole hotel was very clean and warm.
