Room was big, bed was comfortable. Provided towels and good toiletries Plenty of coffee, tea etc and a small fridge Bathroom floor had under floor heating which was lovely in the middle of the night. There was two wine glasses and a wine cooler in the room, nice touch. Close to shops pubs and resturants.

They need to put some air freshener/shake and vac in the general stairway, smelt damp and unpleasant, although did not smell in the room. The Shelly room needs a new lampshade, looks like someone has stamped on it. Main bedroom is dark and needs more lighting Looks tired, old furniture, very small wardrobe. No plug for the bath, there was a shower room and a shower over the bath.. Write up states breakfast can be ordered the night before, however staff member said the kitchen was 'broken' so no breakfast.

Lovely traditional pub with rooms upstairs. The guy who greeted us was extremely friendly, helpful and explained everything we’d need to know during our stay. The location was great, central to bars, restaurants, shopping and the Christmas markets. We stayed in the Byron suite, which was a lovely space with a seperate lounge area, bedroom and large bathroom with underfloor heating, his & hers sinks with a roll top bath and double shower. For the rate we paid this was fantastic value and we’d definitely stay here again.

All good.

We had the Byron suite, everything you could ask for, bathroom was fab! Every room really clean, had everything you needed. Ideally placed right in the centre so great access to shops, bars and restaurants.

We did know about the music in the courtyard, but didn’t expect this to start at 5pm, so any chance of a quick sleep before heading out vanished! We like music, but to have it so loud the windows shook was too much! To be fair it all stopped around 1am and was really quiet after that. I know it was New Years Eve, but still too early starting.

Enjoyed a very nice stay here. Perfectly located very close to Town Hall where the walking tours set off from. Also it is just a 17min walk to the train station. Hotel itself is very nice and has a wonderful shower, a comfy bed with tea and coffee in the room. Also has a TV with loads of channels. The breakfast was hearty and delicious. Lovely bar with great pints and very good music was provided by a DJ on the Friday night of my stay. The staff were all very kind and very helpful. Overall it exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend this hotel.

The staff were excellent and very welcoming, the room was easy to access, and the location of the bar was perfect. It's a little hidden away from the road, so make sure you keep your eyes peeled for the alleyway that takes you to the courtyard. The room was nice and spacious with a double sinked bathroom along with a bath and shower. The room was clean and well kept, and check out was easy. Although we were prior warned about noise, this didn't affect us as we were staying mid week. The only noise was the beer delivery in the morning, but we were awake by then anyway.

To be nit picky the room needed some TLC e.g paint was peeling off the walls in the bathroom and the shower temperature wouldn't change no matter how far over to cold it was. The mattress has a visible dip both sides but was comfortable non the less. The carpets leading upstairs are very well worn and have the usual old pub grime to them but this didn't take away anything. The only real gripe was a few of the plug sockets didn't actually fit a normal plug as they where too small so the lovely vanity area with a seat and mirror were a bit pointless.

The location was AMAZING literally in the centre of Chester. Shame it didn't have a lift as we were on the top floor but it didn't matter to us really. The bathroom was incredible and has heated floors and the beds were super comfy. The staff were so friendly and helpful and carried our bags up for us which was lovely. Cannot believe it only cost us £100 to stay here. Definitely would recommend it!

The bed, the mattress was so amazingly comfortable and a lovely 4 poster. The suite set up was wonderful with the most amazing bathroom space!!

The lighting circuit was replaced for the smoke detectors instead of a second circuit so lamps were the lighting available. The shower was amazing but the know to the overhead shower was upside down so to turn on you had to move the temperature first and the move temperature back. Simple fix with Allen key.

The room was awesome! Fantastic location. It’s a funky old building with a lot of character. The bathroom was the best- with heated floors.

The pub was closed and we were the only people in the building. We didn’t have any heat, except the bathroom floors. Our booking included breakfast, but none was offered. Despite this, our room was great! We found a great coffee shop nearby, so it all worked out.

the room was amazing. perfectly clean and huge!! there were 3 massive sized rooms being a bathroom with deep bath and separate large shower with jets. double sink and perfect toiletries on offer and lots of fluffy towels. the lounge room was well set up with a sofa bed and large tv. nice biscuit selection too. the bedroom was spacious with storage and nice lighting options. the bed was comfy with lots of pillows so you could select how many you need without asking for more.

nothing. it was a hot day and management had pre opened the windows to cool the room which was a nice gesture

The hotel is tucked away behind the Rows, which allowed for a really nice get away experience, and was very quiet despite being in the city centre. It was much cleaner than expected, and offered a lovely view of the courtyard. The room was also much larger than expected and had a lot of amenities that we did not expect.

The window was hard to open and close, and when doing so it felt as though the window were going to break. The decor felt somewhat dated, and felt more like we were staying at a family members house than at a hotel, although this is not necessarily an issue, it made us feel somewhat awkward.
