The property was clean an comfortable with nice touches of fresh milk an water in the fridge. The rooms are cute an cozy with everything you could need. The location is ideal an central to everything with plenty of nice cafes an pubs nearby. The river an park are just down the road an they are well worth a visit. The hosts are lovely an very helpful if needed. Checking in an out was simple. Lovely all round. The rooms are exactly as the photos show online. Really enjoyed our holiday. Many thanks for having us ❤️

Nothing everything was great

I had a wonderful stay here. Alison and David are lovely people, very welcoming and friendly. The room was comfortable and very clean. It's directly across from a pub and it was a hot night so I slept with the window open, even so, the noise wasn't bad, and I slept fine. (I can imagine a weekend might be a bit more rowdy, so if that would bother you, it's something to keep in mind. Maybe get a room with the window facing the juxtaposed street.) A great, powerful fan was provided which I really appreciated, and the window in the room (I stayed in the upstairs double) is nice and big. Room is well appointed, lots of natural light, lovely tea station with fresh milk provided, and the location (just a few steps from Bridge Street and lots of great places to eat) can't be beat. It's terrific place to stay, and I would definitely stay again next time I'm in Chester.

The sink in the bathroom is a bit small (which is to be expected because of the historic house it's in) and the placement of the handwash dispenser made it impossible to wash my face in the sink, so I had to jump in the shower. I'm not sure if the handwash on the wall is something that could be moved over a little to make the sink more accessible? Free parking is available after 3pm, but if you move your car the next day, you have to wait until after 3pm again to enter the lot. That may sound like a bit of a bother, but honestly, finding any kind of free parking in Chester is a huge bonus, so I as very grateful this was available at all! Just mentioning it so others are aware of the situation and can make an informed decision based on their circumstances.

Pleasant room, comfortable bed and easy chair, very friendly and helpful landlord and landlady. Tea,coffee etc provided plus a fridge with a bottle of cold water and a bottle of milk. Shower and bathroom good. Breakfast not provided but a great little friendly panini cafe very close by - highly recommended. Also the Red Lion and City Tavern Chester pleasant, good service and meals and friendly staff. VERY highly recommended is Katie's Tea Room, lovely staff, great cup of tea and wonderful cakes!

For us the guest house is ideally located for the town centre. Literally a 5 min walk and your in the heart of Chester. We previously stayed here around Covid and everything looked to have been updated then, it was good to see that everything had been up kept and looking fresh. En-suite shower room, although small perfectly adequate for its use, even with two of us staying.

The only downside we found was on our last visit we was given a continental style breakfast hamper which was not available this time, although we had plans for a full English breakfast planned anyway so it didn’t matter. No fault of the guest house but think it’s worth a mention, there was a car alarm that decided to go off quite a lot during the night, like I said no fault of the guest house, just very annoying.

Ali was lovely and welcoming, room was clean and tidy. Good touch was a bottle of water and fresh milk in the fridge when I arrived. I didn't need to top up but I knew it wouldn't be a problem if I needed more milk. 3 minutes walk from bottom bridge street area.

I didn't realised that the budget twin was on the ground floor next to the front door. Room was quite small for 2 people and only hangers on the wall for hanging clothes, I used the chest of drawers provided.

Easy checkin. if you want to drop bags off earlier, and go for a wander , this can be done.. Alison & Dave lovely hosts. Property is central to everthing,Just off bridge street. Was upgraded to a superkingsize room. Complementary fresh milk and water supplied. Reasonable prices considering location. We will be back here no problem. You wont be dissapointed. . We enjoyed our stay, and the peace and quiet. Just beware of dave makeing Lentil soup, as the smell wafts upstairs🤣🤣🤣. Sorry dave, but i just needed a bowl full... be back soon.

No brekky, but this isnt a negative, Im just lazy in the morning. Plenty of places on bridge street to eat, 1 minute away.

Convenient for centre of Chester. Friendly welcome. Good parking advice. Comfortable bed. Good facilities.

We liked the property very much. When booking we believed we had booked an en-suite room. One we had paid our non-refundable cost. Booking.com asked if we wanted to pay to upgrade to a room with a toilet. Reluctantly we did. When I discussed this with the owners they were dismayed as all their rooms are en-suite. They said they would discuss this issue with Booking.com. Thank you.

A very friendly and comfortable guest house, perfectly situated for sight seeing in Chester. We had been apprehensive about where we could park, but in the end were able to leave it literally outside the door for the entire stay - all the places we wanted to see were easy to walk to. And yes, there are plenty of cafes/restaurants within very easy reach. A perfect base for exploring this amazing city! I

We were able to drop off our luggage before check in time and leave them for a few hours after check out which was so helpful as we could explore Chester without our luggage on a hot day. Other hotels didn't offer this facility, so I didn't book with them. There was a socket near the mirror, so I could use my hair styling tools and see what I was doing - again rare in the big hotel chains. The room was smallish, but big enough for what we needed. Despite being in the middle of the city, very little noise from outside and what there was was muffled. Very comfortable bed and two fat pillows each. Very clean. Very good value for money. Good wifi. Refreshments included fresh milk and cold water in the fridge. Despite the heat wave the room wasn't too hot and a fan was provided. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

The fridge was quite noisy, which was more noticeable at night as everything else was quiet. However, this was 'white noise' so it didn't keep us awake.

Location is ideal, it is very quiet in that area as well. Alison and David were extremely friendly and really helpful throughout the stay. Really liked the Chester artwork, nice to stay in a place which is proud of its city.

Only gripe was size of bathroom but it didn’t impact on the stay and can’t be helped in building of this age.
