Cannot fault this hotel it’s becoming a home from home hotel, still got another 2 visits go this year, and believe it or not I can’t wait, you walk in this hotel and you know you are away from all the stress everything about this hotel says “COME AND RELAX WE Will TAKE CARE OF YOU” from the spacious welcoming reception that automatically says take your time don’t rush “we’re over here when you need us” to the bed that says “I GOT YOU.” Then onto breakfast which is totally at your leisure. Not for getting the staff. You will not, and I repeat you will not fine a better staff team from the receptionist/Concierge to bar staff and room attendants and all the kitchen team. You all make it a pleasure each and every visit, to sum it up i booked my wedding anniversary in January for August bank holiday weekend just to make sure I had the room.

For some reason I was allocated a room for the disabled? This was fine but there was a small green light in the bathroom and by the door entrance that I was unable to turn off. I understand why they are there, due to the function of this room but unfortunately it disturbed my sleep throughout the night as I’m used to total darkness. Although I was grateful to the bathroom one. Also I was unable to open a window as it was too high. I’m used to window open summer and winter. I was a little hot throughout and it was stuffy. It was too late with my late departure to bed (party) to move rooms.

The bed was too hard for me but that’s personal preference We had a double room, there wasn’t a lot of room around the bed The bathroom was very small and had a shower over the bath, so had to step over the side of the bath The water pressure for a shower was adequate and personally not strong enough for someone to wash long hair. Room charge for dogs, our dogs probably make less mess than a toddler We also had a visit from Freddie Mercury (please be patient with this gentleman, he is deaf and has mental health issues but is harmless) bit annoying, he frightened our dogs and interrupted our meal. So we stood up and asked him for space, which he eventually understood.

Kettles are quite old..need a replacement.. same as the telephones in the rooms. But definitely kettles need to be changed. Also missing a mini fridge in the room, although there was a space for it. No other cons.

nice spacious comfortable room! had everything we might need in there tea coffee facilities toiletries hairdryer and even and iron and ironing board. we got an upgrade through booking.com for an executive room but our friends were also very pleased with their regular double for the same reasons. it was in a perfect location with shops and restaurants 5/10 mins away and an Aldi right next door within walking distance and there was secure parking with cctv. the hotel was lovely and clean everywhere and had a lovely reasonably priced bar and restaurant area and the staff were extremely helpful always cheerful and friendly. we were very pleased as we travel a lot and have experienced a vast range of standards but this was up there ! great value for money and we will be booking here again for sure!

we actually can’t think of anything bad

We had an accessible room as my partner is in a wheelchair. The room space was great and bathroom also spacious and the sink was very wheelchair friendly. The bed was HUGE - felt like two double beds put together (so it was nice to not have my duvet stolen that night!). Fairly firm mattress and comfy pillows. Beautiful hotel entrance and nice bar and restaurant space. Welcoming staff.

Could do with a main light in the bedroom as it could be a little dark in the day. My partner found the bathroom quite cold as he is on blood thinners but may be possible to adjust the radiator?

The room itself was a free upgrade to Executive room and the level of comfort and facilities almost entirely justifies the name. The room was spacious and comfortable in all respects, seating, bedding, media, power/charging points and lighting, all just right. Bathroom toiletries were pleasant and the mini-fridge was a useful addition. The location is ideally located for major road links and local food and grocery outlets. Public areas are very comfortable, although I had no need to use them due to the comfort level of the room.

Not happy having to pay for parking, it reduces, if not eliminates, the 'bargain factor' of the booking. The car park was near-empty, even for a Saturday night stay, so can't really see the point, other than perhaps to monetise the seasonal football or exhibition traffic.

I know we had a standard room, but we found it extremely small but as it was only one night it was passable. We have stayed in other hotels where rooms have been more spacious.

I was unwell when we arrived (which when I got home) turned out to be a severe chest infection. Because of this we did not go down to restaurant for dinner, instead we had a couple of sandwiches and drinks sent to the room. I did resent the £5 for the tray.

The room is clean with a very comfortable bed and the flat screen is an excellent size.

The water pressure in the shower was terrible, they had an issue this particular day. The staff were exceptional and they transferred me to a room on the lower floor so I could have a shower. I could at-least take a shower in this room but I think generally the pressure is not great regardless of the room you are in.

Location was ideal for our purpose. Easy wheelchair access. Ev charging point (although one not working).

Bathroom I little small for an ‘executive’ room. Enamel peeling on bath. Body lotion dispenser empty (I’m sure they would have filled it, but a bit inconvenient when you’ve just stepped out of the shower and found out). Towelling robes far too small - and no, not because we are exceptionally large people. They had run out of the vegan item on the snack menu with no alternative option. Little niggles rather than large problems.
