Very happy with our stay at the Telegraph hotel. It's a special building and the interiors are full of character. We went for the slightly bigger room which is great value-for-money. It's very spacious, with sofa and chairs and very comfortable bed. Am super happy with the bathroom -- clean, tastefully designed and functional! There are places to put things (so handy!) both inside and outside the shower cube, drain's not blocked (could so often happen in hotels...) and a towel rail which works! :) The staff are extremely nice and helpful. We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again when we next visit the city.
A few minor things -- lighting could have been better (e.g. an extra floor lamp) cos one corner of the room is really dark. A socket closer to the bathroom would make life easier when using the hair-dryer. And a update of the in-room TV (one which has WiFi connection) would also be extremely handy.

I've wanted to stay here for a while, I remember when this was the Newspaper offices so it's a significant landmark. I now live elsewhere but stay in Coventry every week, I've had my eye on the Telegraph but it is usually too expensive for a business traveller who pays for his own accommodation. On this occasion the price had come down significantly (to £77/night) so I gave it a go and I wasn't disappointed. The room was superb and the overall condition of the Hotel was excellent.
When I came in to the Hotel to check in there appeared to be some sort of 'Derby & Joan' Christmas lunch going on and I held the door open for a number of mobility scooters. However, after walking the wrong direction looking for reception I was greeted by a member of staff who asked me "Can I help you sir?" in a way that suggested I was lost and shouldn't be trespassing (I was smartly but casually dressed for my works Christmas party). When I got in reception I was treated in the same manner - the receptionist said "Can I help you?" but might as well have added "you ruffian".

Gorgeous cozy feel to this beautifully designed hotel. Great 60s/70s aesthetic throughout drawing on the building's newspaper history, with lots of attention to detail. Room was much larger than expected, stylish and comfortable design, everything we could have needed and more! Impressed there was oat milk provided in the room as well as dairy. Breakfast was excellent quality and variety also. Bathroom was extremely nice, amazing floor tiles and shower was probably the best quality I've seen in a hotel. Lovely hotel-specific original artwork and Mad Men vibe throughout! NCP car park was about 2 mins walk away (£11.95 for our 24-hour stay).

The staff was welcoming, friendly and nothing was too much trouble for any of them on reception and restaurant for breakfast, the rooms were bigger than expected and looked exactly like they did on the pictures, the location was fantastic so close to the shopping arcades and loads of food and drink places on the doorstep... The rooms were clean and well presented
The only 2 things we didn't like was the beds had a visible and physical gap where the 2 beds where joined together so made it slightly uncomfortable for morning cuddles ... And also the lack of a smart TV we stayed 2 nights and was disappointed that we only had a choice of 8 channels to watch and no option to log into or streaming platforms

The location was fab within easy walking distance of the shops and restaurants. The bar staff were excellent.
ordered poached eggs for breakfast which didn't arrive on the 1st morning and when we asked they had been made quite some time before but the server had forgotten to collect so the eggs were cold and hard ! Much better the 2nd morning. Room felt a bit on the small side. 1st impressions of a hotel start from the outside and regardless of the fact that this used to be the Telegraph printers a good lick of paint to smarten the side appearance would most definitely help brighten up the building.

A really distinctive and well-appointed hotel, with a strong sense of the history of the building. The decor has a very strong link to the 1950's when Coventry was rebuilt after WWII. and there was lots of interesting information about the building's past as newspaper offices. Anyone interested in the history of design and decor should try to visit. The location is central and within walking distance of city centre shopping, restaurants and entertainment. Cannot recommend too highly.
Marginally noisy in the morning from outside traffic. No parking at the hotel and no marked drop-off area. Car parking is not well signposted.

When we arrived on a grey dull day, we were welcomed with a big smile. the receptionists attitude was sunny, welcoming and warm. She was very informative regarding the facilities. The room was very clean and well presented. The bar was a delight. Again, the staff were relaxed and comfortable, whilst being professional, attentive and helpful. The decor , music and ambience was calm and relaxing. After a relaxing evening, and pre bedtime drink, it was up to bed. The beds were soooo comfy, nothing to inhibit the night time journey to the loo. The room was well sound proofed so no traffic , wanderings in the corridor and outside shouting sounds. It was a very comfortable and relaxing stay. Congratulations to all the staff, and thank you for you smiles.
The only downside was the sausages and bacon at breakfast were on the dried up side, therefore a bit chewy. A closer eye on the food under the heating lamps to ensure its kept fresh would be good.

Such a quirky little hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms spacious and clean and lots of lovely additional touches in the rooms. Bar area lovely and a terrace to sit out ion too which was lovely. Fantastic location for anything in the centre and only a 20min Uber to the stadium. Will definitely be back.
Would have been nice if the bar on the terrace had been opened but appreciate this will have been because of the time of year and amount of people etc and it wasn’t a hassle to get your drink at the main bar and then go up. I personally didn’t have breakfast but a few in our group of 16 sos and said it was just average which was a shame when everything else exceeded expectations.

I've stayed a lot of places this summer for work. This is quite simply the best hotel I've been to. It's not just extremely competent at everything a hotel should do- it is absolutely beautiful. The interior decor is absolutely out of this world, not just gorgeous to look at but beautiful - and so, so clever in the multifunctional design of everything. (So many beautiful things are uncomfortable - not here. It's the best designed hotel). If you love mid century design you absolutely MUST stay.
Nothing.

Generally, the hotel was lovely. The room was spacious and comfortable. The restaurant staff, particularly, were really professional and friendly. Both the evening dinner and breakfast staff were nice and welcoming.
Reception staff did not acknowledge people who were waiting to check-in, including me. The waiting time was not long, but reception could have done with a warmer welcome, although one lady, with whom I left my luggage early morning was really nice and friendly ( a lady who graduated from Coventry university with a degree in psychology, as we had a little nice chat).
