The Maxwell Arms was the perfect hotel for me on this occasion. It was a last minute decision to travel to Scotland to celebrate my mothers birthday. Seamless booking with a very welcoming reception on arrival. The room was more than adequate in size for a single room, clean, comfortable with tea and coffee facilities and top off with a hot, powerful shower in a very respectful bathroom. In addition, there's a bar next door to the accomodation with friendly staff frequented by welcoming locals enjoying the chat of the day. Value for money, the Maxwell Arms is off the scale. Fantastic!

Their is nothing about this venue that I didn't like or would even contemplait complaining about. It does exactly what it promotes and more!

Was staying for a golf weekend. The room was nice and clean. Bathroom was the same. Excellent pressure in the shower. Really couldn't fault it in any way. The best part of the stay was the staff and the locals. Really excellent. The pub that is part of the hotel was a proper pub. And what a great selection of draught lager's. Tremendous price's too. Will be going back for another golf weekend and I will definitely be staying here again

The only negatives were no secure place for bikes and it would be even better if a cooked breakfast was available.

Clean room, warm staff welcome. Straight forward no nonsense communication and was as described.

A minor point but needs mentioned. The heating was left full on unknown to me and room got very hot when I went out to a meeting and returned had to turn down radiators and open all windows. Maybe staff should leave on low setting when doing checks etc as it warms up really easy.

Centrally located. Just round the corner from the High Street. Petrol Station next door. Sandwich shop across the road open at 7am (I think). The room was simple but spotless and perfectly adequate. Parking spaces for motorcycles or any vehicles just alongside the beer garden and off the road.

Great value...clean, spacious room, with comfortable beds, had a wonderful nights sleep. Friendly and helpful staff. Perfect location in the town...we will be returning. Thank you

Great location, really large family room, excellent shower and the staff were very friendly.

No option for a breakfast but you can go next door for all meals and there are lots of take aways. We found the Chinese takeaway to be excellent a d good value for money.

I liked the privacy, cleanliness locality comfortable bed and friendly staff

Not enough milk/tea. Bin overflowing after 4 nights. Bought milk but no fridge.
