The location was great - near the main street and harbour yet very quiet. My room had a view onto the street that leads to the harbour and at the back a view onto the garden. The shower room was spacious and seemed brand-new, the best I've ever experienced in a hotel. The staff were lovely - relaxed, friendly and helpful and the breakfast was very good. I liked that you use local free-range eggs! Oh, and the pizza that I had in the garden was the real thing 🙂

Location was central. Staff were very friendly. Facilities were good. Food was very good. The bar was well stocked and had a cosy feel about it.

Our room was on the top floor and because of the unusually warm weather for the time of year was warm which made sleeping uncomfortable. This is in no way a criticism of the hotel, it was as said unusual weather for September.

Staff were great, friendly and helpful. The chef came in early and cooked breakfast so that we could be on the road for 6:45 on both mornings. The breakfast was good, freshly cooked with local produce. The evening meal was good and reasonably priced. Overall, an excellent value hotel.

The heating wasn’t working on the first night but was fixed the following day. Apart from that no complaints whatsoever.

The staff were excellent couldn't do enough for you. Always had a smile on their faces happy to help such as taking your suitcase to you room if you wished. Food good, breakfast set you up for the day. Full Scottish if you wanted. The bedroom and bathroom were spacious and very clean.

I would recommend putting two chairs in the bedroom it had only one.

Excellent location. Very friendly welcome, allowing us to check in early which was extremely helpful. Check in was exceptionally easy and quick. Our room had everything we needed (including a good hairdryer!), and easy written instructions in case we needed anything else. Breakfast was included, which was a wonderful treat. The staff, particularly Tracy and Kiera-Maeve (forgive my spelling!), were excellent: friendly, helpful, no request too much bother. They made our stay so comfortable and enjoyable.

I arrived later than planned because of an accident on the M6 was surprised at how early they stopped serving food . I think it Needs to be highlighted more A plus was the chef very kindly rustled me up a tasty pizza.

Excellent, friendly staff, going above and beyond. I left my coat and scarf behind, and they posted it on to me without charging. Breakfast delicious, evening meal too. Lovely room and view.

No lift, but I can understand that this would be difficult to put in, and there were lower floors.

I wouldn't call this boutique hotel, yet, but it is very clean and comfortable and the staff were fantastic and it was worth every penny. I'd imagine if the hotel reaches what is expect for boutique status i wouldn't want to pay boutique prices, but as it stands just now I would go back in a heart beat paying the price i paid. The staff knew us by name and were exceptional even though we were only there for 2 nights

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The facilities were all there. The hotel was very clean and breakfast excellent.

I stayed two nights and it would have been nice if the tea, coffee and milk were replenished each day (I like a cuppa first thing when I wake up 😁)

Food was good and breakfast was included in the price. The location was very central and ideal for the Arts and Crafts Trail, which was the reason for our stay.

Seemed to be a little short staffed sometimes although staff on duty were doing their best.
