The hotel room was clean and spacious and had good facilities, although it could have come with a closet to store and hang clothes. A hairdryer and one free bottled water also would have been nice to include but were missing. I previously stayed in the Pentahotel the day before staying at the Holiday Inn and it came with hangers to hang clothes, a hairdryer, and free bottled water. But I really liked the cleanliness and service done in the room and the spaciousness, these were the best parts of the hotel.

The breakfast didn't have much vegan options and ran out of croissants, bread, and milk in the hot drinks vending machine on my last day when a lot of guests came for Sunday breakfast. How could there only be one machine for hot drinks with no other options to pour boiling water? The cutlery was also dusty and hadn't been washed recently and the furnishings in the breakfast area looked a bit dated. In today's modern age, not everyone eats bacon, sausages, and mushrooms, although this is the typical English breakfast. But I really would have appreciated more vegan/veggie-friendly options. I was limited to eating scrambled eggs, bread, and baked beans.

I have stayed at least three times before. Nice room, great location, Ideal for the bus station too and there is always a super breakfast, Receptionist and all the staff were friendly cheerful and polite. Also helpful when they booked us a cab. It was nice also to have the quiet room. I also always feel safe staying there.

My niece was coming down with a chill and was not warm enough in bed. Nice if there had been a spare blanket or something to have kept her warmer. It was late when we returned from a family gathering and no one was at reception either. So no point ringing for a blanket. Also issue with the TV not working when we booked in The receptionist had to come and sort it out as previous occupant had set it to NETFLIX? The only other beef I had was originally I was coming on my own, there were no single rooms. Why do we get penalised and have to pay double the cost. Which is why I let my niece come with me. I still paid double but it was a treat for my niece who had not visited Derby before.

Our overnight stay was much enjoyed. Although we didn't get the room type I requested when making the booking, that being a double room, the twin beds were most comfortable and I got a good night's sleep. The location was perfect as we could take the bus from East Midlands Airport and a bus to visit family in Alvaston, Derby. The breakfast was delicious, what a great variety of food to select from. The staff were very friendly too. We did venture into the bar at around 11pm for a drink after visiting family however there was no one in there apart from the bar tender. What a shame business isn't better. Hopefully when the renovations are carried out things might improve. Wishing every success in the future and thank you for a lovely stay.

Biscuits in the room to enjoy with a cuppa would be a lovely touch.

I asked about dinner, I got two answers from two staff members standing next to each other. One said it was only open for another 30 minutes, the other that it was closed becuase there was a big party going on (there was!). So no dinner option. I got various text and email messages, but no mention of "no dinner". It must have been planned well in advance so I could have been told. Not a disaster - we ate elsewhere, but it felt careless.

Very helpful and friendly staff. Comfortable beds and plenty of tea and coffee facilities and mugs which I love ( cups are far too small for a decent tea )

Car parking. The car park opposite has closed. There is a deal with der ion car park but it wasn’t working and recognising the check in . We paid for 1 st night full price then the next day bought a 24 hour ticket in the open air car park opposite. We understand the original car park is closed forever so maybe good to get this sorted going forward.

It was strange to have a reception on fourth floor. Felt a bit fearful going outside for a vape. I do understand the whole vibe is to discourage smoking but the fact of the matter is plenty of people still do, and it's important to feel safe when doing so. Assistance ( should I have required it) being four floors away was disconcerting. My only quibble. That, and a dark lonely corridor on my return.

The location is pleasant, close to the city centre and the river Derwent, the staff were very friendly and , and the bar and breakfast are good.

The hotel rooms which are above the bus station mean that reversing buses can be heard at all hours of operation, despite double-glazing, the sun heated the room and it wasn't easy to get the room cooler. Like similar hotels no toilet brush was provided and as cleaning isn't as often due to Covid, this is unpleasant and there's no scientific reason not to provide a brush.

Room was clean, light and spacious, good tv and lovely shower Location was fabulous for us close to shops, the M1 and near our venue Breakfast was plentiful with no waiting or pressure to leave, host at the desk was pleasant and helpful

Our view was over a concrete courtyard which was not too good but it was at the back of the hotel hence really quiet

The room was spacious and clean. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was good.

We were new to Derby so using the Derbion basement car park and finding our way out to the hotel took longer than 5 minutes! We registered our car at reception to get the discount but the car park payment machine charged £11.50. We pressed the button for help and the discount was applied to £8. The first key card we were given for our room didn’t work.

It was a bit noisy I'm not sure if it was the air-conditioning or the bus station below. The television in my room didn't have a TV guide on the remote control where you could plan what to watch
